1 Air Bag problem of the 2009 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 03/30/2026

This dealership is a scam, my car isn't even safe to drive because the (psm) needs to be replaced and none of the modules are communicating but somehow they passed the inspection. I bought this car as is 2/24/26 and 2 days later it started overheating. I took to big al's like they recommended and big al's replaced the coolant assembly the car was still overheating so big al's recommended the electrical shop and I took it to them. Tidewater auto electric didn't find any electrical problems. So I took it to dave's tire and auto center and they said the psm needs to be replaced and all of the module because they are no longer communicating with each other. That's not safe and yet carland sold it to me anyway.

5 Air Bag problem of the 2022 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 02/16/2026

Airbag system failure warning - dealer is unable to diagnose the Ford pass app alerted me that my airbag system was not functioning and instructed me to not drive the vehicle and to have it towed to a dealership. This too me seemed like a very serious alert. I immediately called the dealer and brought the vehicle in to have it looked at. During the call the dealership technician confirmed for me that the problem had persisted for a couple of days prior and was concerned that I just found out about it. Naturally the day I took it in the light went off. The technician looked at it for over a day and ultimately said they could not determine the cause. They then advised me to continue driving the vehicle and only return when the warning appears again. I called Ford to get their take on this problem and to ask for help, and I got the same response, that there is nothing that the dealer can do unless the light is actively on. This contradicts Fords own safety warning and leaves me driving a vehicle that may have a non-functional airbag system. I am reporting this because it appears to be a potential safety defect, and the dealership was unable to repair it. I am not sure if this is a defect of the airbag system itself, or the system that monitors the safety of the vehicle. If there is a couple days of specific warnings that Ford and the dealer has access too, I wouldn't think that they would need the light to be actively on for diagnosis. I have attached a screenshot the warning in the Ford pass app, however it will no longer let me view details that I had before, just the occurrence and warning name.

11 Air Bag problem of the 2013 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 09/26/2025

Was going 70 mph (speed limit) and hit a deer, car was totaled. Upon impact my seatbelt locked up and I smelled smoke, but the airbags didn't actually deploy. No warning signs or prior issues known.

12 Air Bag problem of the 2014 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 09/02/2025

I purchased my 2014 Ford Edge in December 2023. March 2023, I started having issues with the driver side door lock sensor malfunction as shown in the last photo. The door would not automatically lock when I started driving, sensing that the driver’s side door was still open. It was not. I kept pushing the lock button to lock it, but it kept unlocking even while driving. Eventually it would lock. The cost to fix that was around $600 which I could not afford, and my limited warranty expired. July/August 2025 my abs and traction control sensor lights were lit on my dash. I took the car for service and my very reputable mechanic diagnosed with no codes showing up a few times. Performed a reset twice and the lights came back on after only driving a couple of miles. He contacted Ford who advised he couldn't sell the part because there was a "national hold" on the part. On 9/2 my brakes and traction control failed resulting me rear ending another vehicle. The other safety issue is that my airbags did not deploy upon the collision. I contacted Ford corporation and was advised that Ford will not do anything since my vehicle was older than 10 years. The vehicle is a total loss leaving me with a loan balance of approximately $4,700. 00. This is neither fair nor right for a multimillion-dollar company that will not or choose not to address or acknowledge their responsibility regarding these two very serious safety issues. Since I didn’t die or get seriously hurt, I guess it’s not that big a deal to Ford.

No injuries were sustained, and no medical attention was provided. However, the contact stated that the next day, the contact suffered a severe headache, and the contact went to the emergency room for medical assistance. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed. The dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100. 000. The VIN was not available.

Failure Date: 08/08/2025

The contact owned a 2024 Ford Edge. The contact stated that, upon pulling into a parking space, the vehicle suddenly accelerated on its own. As a result, the contact lost control of the vehicle, only coming to a complete stop after partially driving through a storefront. The vehicle was towed to a storage facility and deemed a total loss by the contact's insurance provider. A police report was filed, and injuries were not reported. The manufacturer was notified of the failure by the contact's insurance provider, and a case was opened. I took my 2010 Ford Edge to have a air bag recall repaired. The air bag was fixed, the air bag light cleared. I drove about 3 miles home and the light reappeared, I checked the code and it was b2293-03 air bag fault. My wife called right away and told them the light came on and the car can't be inspected until it's clear. They told my wife it would be $200 to take a look at a repair they literally just took their hands off of. All I want is this safety feature fixed right without the $200 fee which is crazy when I just picked it up.

19 Air Bag problem of the 2007 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 04/02/2025

My question is I’m getting ready to buy a 2007 Ford Edge for my mother and she’s already put three water pumps on this car and it cost like almost 1000 bucks to do it every time. Failure Date: 03/19/2025

21 Air Bag problem of the 2015 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 01/09/2025

I received notification that my vehicle had a recall for related to emissions. At the dealership for repair, I was also informed of a second recall concerning airbags and they may no deploy if needed. The emissions recall was completed however the airbag recall procedure could not be performed due to what the technician described as a "weak" battery in my vehicle. If my vehicle’s battery was insufficient for completing the recall, I believe it is the dealership's responsibility to have the necessary tools, such as a service battery, to perform recall-related repairs. My understanding is that all recall procedures are to be carried out at no cost to the consumer, yet bill knight Ford is asking me to pay up wards of $200 to address the battery issue before the recall can be completed. Additionally, after checking the national highway traffic safety administration (NHTSA) website with my VIN, I did not find any other recalls listed. With this in mind, I have a few questions: could you confirm whether there are any open recalls for my vehicle, particularly regarding the airbags? am I correct in assuming that I am not responsible for ensuring my car is "ready" for recall procedures, such as replacing the battery? if there is an open airbag recall, how can I ensure the dealership completes the necessary repairs at no cost to me? I appreciate your time and assistance in this matter and look forward to your response. Below, I have included my vehicle and dealership information for your reference. In may 2025, at only 3 years old, the transmission went out at 95,000 miles and was just replaced. 33 Air Bag problem of the 2020 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 04/01/2024

Ford designed the vehicle with soy based insulation on the wires in the wiring harness, this attracts rodents which eat away at the wiring harness. Ford is aware of this but refuses to compensate or repair the damage. When the harness is compromised the tail lights, passenger airbag, passenger seatbelt and cross traffic warning indicators do not work. This presents multiple safety issues. The vehicle has been diagnosed by Ford stating the damage was caused by rodents entering the passenger compartment through the outside vent of the heating system. My vehicle has been repaired three times for the same issue. Ford has refused to warrantee any damage and has tld me to turn it in to my insurance which I had done. This has caused my insurance premium to increase due to the claim. I have all the documentation from the occurrences and the transcript of my conversation with Ford customer service. I want at minimum the vehicle fixed or replaced at Fords expense. Previously Ford had spoken with my insurance company and told them the harness needed to be spliced, they did not replace the entire harness this caused the rodents to return and damage more of the harness. .
