Traffic on hwy came to a sudden stop from around 60 mph. I applied the brakes very hard and came to a safe stop. The vehicle behind me did not stop and rear ended me at a high rate of speed. There were 3 passengers in my vehicle, all wearing seatbelts, and not a single airbag went off!!! the sensors to prevent car from starting after an accident activated and car would not start. Because my foot was firmly on the brake still at time of impact, there were no life threatening injuries, but were some injury. The nys police at the scene were surprised the airbags did not go off.

Vehicle was involved in an accident on a highway. Heavy front end damage. No deployment of airbags. Was advised on this model airbags sensors were placed lower than on current models. I am concerned that they did not deploy.

Vehicle never before in collision. Front bumper fully contacted with smaller SUV, sustaining significant front-end damage. Only passenger front airbag deployed, despite there being no passenger in seat (pocketbook weighing only few pounds on the seat, certainly not enough to trigger occupancy sensors). My question is two-fold: why did airbag deploy in empty passenger seat? and more importantly, why did it not deploy in occupied driver seat? is there ever a non-offset front-end collision where force of impact requires only one of two airbags to deploy?.

The air bag sensor comes on without warning. Consumer is concerned that the air bag will not deploy upon impact.
I was driving at aproximately 30-40 mph when a deer croosed the road and I swerved to miss it and lost control of my vehicle. I then crashed in to a thick tele pole and broke it in two, the vehicle proceeded several feet into a barrier head on. The front of my vehicle was damaged by hitting the pole on the pasenge side in line with the seat, totaling the vehicle and ripping off the front passenger tire and conecting parts, further damage to the center of the vehicle when it struck the afore mentioned barrier. I don't know if this is a legitimate complaint or even a complaint. But I was told that my air bags should have deployed as I crashed going faster than 14 mph, they did not deploy. I wish they did because I was hurt and am still feeling some of the injuries since July 6, 2004 ( over 3 weeks ago ). I felt like evil kenevil after missing a jump. The insurance company totaled the vehicle as it had severe frontal damage and a bent frame and some cam thing damaged on the passenger side. I want to know all the facts available regarding the air bags to include sensors, their locations and how many, testing process/equipment used, air bag computer control info ect. I called the Ford motor company and told them what happened and the said the were going to call me back, they did not.

Intermittently when the vehicle was put into drive, it stalled. Also, air bag warning and tire pressure lights came on. Dealership provided no assistance.
Interrior light fails to go off, even with vehicle running. On one instance, it began flashing. This was very distracting and dangerous as it was at night. I was only able to turn the interior light off by pulling the relay. This is a known issue with 1999-2000 Expeditions, but apparently it affects 1998 vehicles as well.

Special message #15773 these problems have existed for years. And although I have taken my vehicle in to have correct these problems, at no time did any service personnel reference the above message, or fix my vehicle in accordance with prescribed guidelines. The following is a summary of the services performed on my vehicle that are a direct result of this problem. I will be more than happy to provide copies of these documented services upon request. 2000: my husband and I purchased our vehicle in washington with 13,000 miles on it while on christmas leave from germany, and our truck sat in storage until our return in Sep 2001. We then drove our vehicle from California to our new duty station at fort belvoir, virginia. 2002: we had issues with the electrical and transmission modular. We took the vehicle to the world of Ford dealership in arlington, virginia. They replaced the power train control modular, airbag light, and the check engine light, and reprogrammed the gem modular. The odometer reading at this time was 26,795 miles. Fortunately, the vehicle was still under warranty. 2002: I took the truck back to world of Ford in arlington, virginia for the following problems: transmission slipping, check engine light, airbag lights, and abs lights. Ford said they could not duplicate problems. The vehicle was still covered under warranty with an odometer reading of 30,481 miles. Again, although the Ford special message had been released in April of 2002, at no time was it mentioned to me as a possible source for these problems. 2004: I went back to world of Ford with the same problems mentioned above, plus the trip meter/odometer was blinking in and out. They replaced the led and electrical connections under the driver seat, and fixed the lights on the dash.
Air bag light indicator flashes then it stays on. This action occurs only when vehicle is in motion.
The air bag warning light has come on twice before it was repaired. The first time at 14,000miles. This time it is currently with dealer at 20,000.
Would be driving vehicle & applying brakes (abs) & pedal would pulsate. Vehicle would fail to stop. Problem is intermittent. Abs light kept coming on and staying. Would only go off when vehicle is not on. Took to dealership & was informed TSB on vehicle & it was out of warranty, by 5 weeks with only 4163 miles. The vehicle is used to pull boat, and has extremely poor fuel mileage . This vehicle had two brake failures due to bad sensors. The manufacturer installed defective sinsors which are safety hazard but refuses admit.
