I was involved in a traffic collision today, may 15, 2015, going southbound the speed of 45mph on a city street in rancho cucamonga CA. Another car going westbound didn't wait at stop sign, went through the intersection, I slammed on the brakes and turned wheel to the right to avoid hitting her but we collided, I was spun around, she ended up in the front yard the house on the corner. The front of my vehicle hit the front fender and front door of the passenger side of her vehicle. Only 1 airbag deployed in my vehicle, the passenger side, with no passenger sitting there. My vehicle has several other airbags that did not deploy, even though the whole front end was smashed. Also, the one airbag that did deploy caught on fire, and filled the interior of the truck with a burning white smoke, not powder. It was a very strong burning smell that I inhaled a lot of. Not sure why only the one airbag deployed and all the others didn't??? please help me in getting to the bottom of this. Should other vehicles like mine be recalled? I have to say, although I was not severely injured, it would have been way better if my safety restraint system would have worked the way it was intended. Have there been other instances like mine? what should Ford motor company do for me? what do I do next? please help me. Thank you, [xxx] ## VIN passed ## Ford, Expedition, 2012 ## information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

This vehicle was in an accident with a semi truck on a surface street. Both vehicles were in motion; the semi turned into our vehicle. The entire driver side front quarter panel and a pillar were destroyed, the front bumper sustained significant damage, and the b and c pillars on the driver side along with parts of the doors were impacted. The vehicle was a total loss, my wife required emergency care, and the Expedition sustained over 25k in damage but the airbags never deployed. None of the first responders could understand why based on their experience responding to accidents. I attempted to contact Ford directly about this over two weeks ago but have gotten zero response to date.

The vehicle was involved in a major front-end accident which the driver suffered a significant injury and was ejected from the vehicle. The airbags failed to deploy, and the seatbelt latch neglected to keep the driver from being ejected from the vehicle. The driver lost control of the vehicle on a city street and collided with a power pole and then a signal pole. Upon head-on collision with the signal pole, the vehicle came to a stop but the airbags never deployed and the seat belt latch failed to keep the driver in the vehicle. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and suffered major injury.
2010 Ford Expedition was traveling southbound. A 2007 chevy silverado that was on the northbound side, made a left-hand turn in front of the Expedition without yielding right of way to oncoming traffic. The Expedition was traveling about 35 mph and the brakes locked up leaving skid marks on the pavement. There was no time to react as it took place so quickly. The vehicles collided right front to right front. Then as the vehicles continued in motion the Expedition was dragged sideways into a t-bone type position with the side of the silverado, and the front of the Expedition slide down the side of the silverado in this position causing damage to the silverado's passenger front fender, door, extended cab door and front of the bedside. The backend of the silverado came up off of the ground and then the vehicles separated. The whole front of the Expedition was taken off. It was deemed a total loss. Fire department was surprised the airbags did not deploy and advised us to stay out of the vehicle at that point. There were three occupants in the Expedition, all wearing seatbelts, including the driver, a passenger in the right front seat and a passenger in the right seat of the second row of seating. The right front passenger was heavily bruised across the chest from the seatbelt locking up. However that particular seatbelt would often lock up and start cinching down on whoever was occupying that seat on a regular basis prior to this accident. And when the seat belt would do so it would have to be unfastened and let to pull all the way back in, pulled back out and refastened. So even with its prior apparent defect it still locked up in the collision, just no air bag deployment.

The contact owned a 2004 Ford Expedition. While driving 55 mph, the driver lost control of the vehicle and it spun out of control. As a result, the vehicle rolled over multiple times and crashed into a mountain. The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed. The front seat passenger sustained a hand injury that resulted in a finger being amputated. The rear driver side passenger on the second row sustained a forehead laceration, and the rear driver side passenger on the third row sustained a fractured shoulder, hip, and three fractured ribs. My 2016 Ford Expedition el ltd v-6 3. 5l with 354 odometer miles produced 4 minor prelude engine surges within a couple hours on the roadways before it went full throttle 5 times within a couple minutes. It suddenly, and without warning, ran down my wife after squishing her against the garage-bedroom wall (which was destroyed) in reverse, placed me in traffic danger when it raced out of the driveway, placed a witness driving in the street in danger as it backed up, and while turning into my driveway forward, plowed half its length into a neighbors house, and destroyed most of its exterior as a result of the forward and reverse collisions. The brakes were absolutely useless and could not begin to overpower the individual engine full power surges. The air bags never deployed despite the frontal impact exceeding 15 mph. The full throttle engine surge durations approximated 6 seconds each; and, the temporary returns to idle lasted 2-4 seconds. My wife is quite injured; but, could easily have been killed. I was planning a head-on large oak tree ramming to stop the vehicle once-and-for-all. Other people and Ford need to be advised of this potential death trap situation. Please help.

As I was slowing down and made a right turn into a parking space, the vehicle accelerated on its own, running over the concrete stop and the curve. The car continued to accelerate and ran head on into a tree that was approximately 10 feet away from the parking space. The driver airbag did not deploy. My car was totaled as a result of this accident.
My husband was driving down a county road at around 9:00 pm in our 2004 eddie bauier edition Expedition ,from dps it was told he could have been going at a rate of up to 100 mph when he reached a curve he missed it and tried to get back on the road but lost control of the vehicle which flipped multiple times ,the only airbags that deployed were the side airbags even though there was very serious front end damage the frontal driver and passenger airbags did not deploy ,which could have saved his life.

Head on collision, both vehicles traveling approximately 40 mph. 2003 Expedition air bags did not deploy. Both vehicles were totaled because of the severe impact, however the Expedition air bags did not deploy. As a result the Expedition driver hit his head on the steering wheel, and shoulder on steering wheel, with torn shoulder muscles and possible upper gi bleeding from the sudden stoppage and seat belt injury. *note***- all airbags on the 2010 suburban did deploy (other totaled vehicle).
My fiancee was in a vehicle accident where she rear-ended another vehicle. She was distracted by an aggressive driver and didn't realize the cars in front of her were stopped. She was traveling approximately 40 mph upon impact. The passenger airbag deployed, but the drivers' airbag did not deploy. My concern is that it should have and did not. The vehicle is in possession of my insurance company and they are allowing inspection of the airbag system. If you are willing to test it for me and provide a report, I would greatly appreciate it. Ford is denying that it is faulty safety equipment.
2006 Ford Expedition involved in head on accident and airbags did not deploy. Ford Expedition was driving southbound on a four lane divided street about 30-35 mph when a minivan traveling northbound blindly tried to make a left turn into a shopping plaza and turned right in front of me. An RV was sitting in the center median blocking her view. I hit her passenger rear side head on. I had 3 children in the car. No airbags deployed. Why the heck do I even have them if they aren't going to work when needed? I am concerned about the airbags not deploying. I don't feel safe in my Expedition and I am afraid to drive it again. I don't feel it is safe. . . Isn't the safety equipment supposed to protect us and keep us safe and work??.
Was involved in a (3) three vehicle accident in January 2011 on state route 28 on black ice conditions. Vehicle #1 hit black ice and lost control striking my 2006 Ford Expedition several times and then my Expedition was rear-ended by another vehicle during the collision. I did have my seat belt on and luckily was not severely injured. Neither of my front air-bags deployed and my Expedition suffered $14,000 dollars in front end damage alone. The airbag sensor was damaged and should of deployed the air-bags but did not. My vehicle was repaired but repair shop and state police were both surprised air bags did not deploy. Now I am having problems with the airbag sensor as it lights up all the time and no problems can be found when diagnosed. This is a serious safety concern and need to be addressed. I still own my Expedition and worry for safety if another collision occurs will the air-bags deploy to save a life.
