Hatchback/liftgate Hinge Problems of Ford Expedition

The contact owns a 2022 Ford Expedition. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, the contact opened the liftgate, and the liftgate failed to operate as intended. The contact stated that the liftgate struck the roof and caused the liftgate to be damaged. The contact stated that when it was cold, the liftgate failed to operate as intended. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and diagnosed that there was insufficient margin between the liftgate and roof spoiler. The contact was provided with manufacturer's recall number: ssm 53469. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 37,000.

Electronic rear hatch make an awful noise when opening and closing. It has been to the dealer twice for repair. They can not figure out what the problem is. The noise is not consistent, will come and go. They did indicate that the motor is loud. The noise still continues to exist.
