1 Rear Suspension Springs problem of the 2012 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 03/27/2014

While driving the rear air suspension failed abruptly causing the rear of the vehicle to bottom out. The vehicle lost handling ability, could not be driven and had to be towed to the dealer for warranty repair. This is a serious safety issue in that I use the vehicle to tow boats and snowmobile trailers often at highway speed. If the air suspension were to fail while attached to a trailer the tongue will hit the roadway and may be a serious safety issue. I think the suspension should be re-designed to include a set of springs to prevent the suspension from completely bottoming out if the air suspension fails.

2 Rear Suspension Springs problem of the 2001 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 07/27/2003

Driving a 2001 Ford Expedition w/ tow package and 2trailers at 55mph, back trailer started to swerve was unable to bring under control do to the Expeditions lack of suspension. Tow ratings for vechicle not realiistic. Lost control of all 3 vech. And rolled them on 7/27/03. Bought Expedition with larger engine and tow pkg. For the purpose of towing. Will sell the Expedition and go back to my 1988 Ford e250, has hauled the same load for over 10 years now without a problem.
