36 Suspension problem of the 2018 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 03/31/2021

Told needed to replace rear struts when took into service at 46,690 miles. Never had to do this before. Saw Ford has a safety message (ssm 47624) on this for 2017 and 2018 Expeditions. Never had to do this so early in a vehicle's life. I don't tow or go off road. Was not covered by extended premium warranty.

37 Suspension problem of the 2020 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 10/01/2020

The vehicle shakes/vibrates when driving over 65mph, gets worse the faster you go. Seems worse in the middle of the vehicle. Took it to Ford dealer we purchased from and they couldn't find an issue, just said its something with the tires or rims. Took it to local Ford dealer and same thing, said it was rims or tires giving vibration. Brand new vehicle!! should be a smooth ride, and dealer has no idea why it does this, and has no solutions other than good luck. Started last summer, after the vehicle was towed. Dealers didn't notice any damage or anything notable underneath the vehicle.

38 Suspension problem of the 2018 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 10/01/2020

With 39,402 miles at almost exactly 2 years old,, the right rear strut has leaked all fluid. No accidents, no towing, no damage to the strut. Per the dealer, they have had to replace some on this year and model vehicle under warranty. Ford is not covering this if no longer under warranty.

39 Suspension problem of the 2014 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 09/16/2020

In 2015 left front strut found to be leaking at 3/3/2015 at approx 10,00 miles replaced under warranty but only that strut. . In 2016 both rear struts found leaking at 25,000 miles. Both replaced under warranty. 3/3/2019 at 45,00 miles right front strut found leaking. Mechanic noted ok to go to next oil change. (/16/20 rt front strut still found leaking but little progression. Decided to wait until 20121 as no accelerated tire wear noted over the last year. Ford should have replaced all struts under warranty when the left front and both rears were found leaking. . Photos not clear to me.

40 Suspension problem of the 2018 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 02/12/2020

At 20,000 miles of highway driving, both front end struts were leaking and required warranty replacement by dealer. I have since read about many problems with Ford Expedition struts falling prematurely.

42 Suspension problem of the 2018 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 11/21/2019

During a routine oil change, the Ford dealer found all four of my suspension struts were leaking. Unless the vehicle was dropped from 50 feet in the air, there is no reason four struts should be leaking. It has to be defective struts.

43 Suspension problem of the 2002 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 09/01/2019

Two weeks before this problem happen ,the truck starts making tomuch noise and air supention didn't go up no more . And stop making noise .

44 Suspension problem of the 2018 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 07/10/2019

2018 Ford Expedition fx4 loaded. Under 10,000 miles rear shocks leaking and had to be placed. They are supposed to be heavy duty with fx4 package. No off road use. No towing. No heavy loading. Careful large city and highway driving. Careful break-in and no hits, hard contacts, or other impacts or conditions. Replaced with oem from Ford. But if defective then likely the replacement parts will be defective as well. $65,000 vehicle. 55 years of owning many vehicles including 2 wranglers, 3 4x4 Honda pilots, 4x4 nissans, mercedes, etc. , never had any shock leaks at any mileage or with any use including towing and off roading. Ford must be buying defective china made parts.

45 Suspension problem of the 2018 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 04/29/2019

Takata recall. On 4/29/19 the 2nd row middle seat belt was replaced after having been in the shop 2x for diagnosis. It would not release out to buckle. It kept snagging on itself inside. On 6/11/19 the vehicle was taken in to be diagnosed for bad strut. Turns out 3 of the 4 were bad and need replaced. The dealership would not replace the 4th strut even though she stated its been a big problem lately. Also the lift gate was inspected as it opens and closes on its own periodically. They could not get the lift gate to recreate the problem and since the vehicle didnt throw a code for it they cant do anything about it. I have an appointment for 6/19/19 to have the 3 struts replaced and the lift gate checked again.

46 Suspension problem of the 2018 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 04/01/2019

Took my vehicle for oil change at a local mechanic. He advised all four struts are leaking. The vehicle only has 10,000 miles on it. I went back to Ford. They advised there is an ss! bulletin and they are only supposed to monitor the issue. A google search shows this has been a problem with Expeditions for years. Why isn't Ford resolving this after all of these years and finding a strut that works properly?.

47 Suspension problem of the 1997 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 12/01/2018

Takata recall, my steering is bad like im fishtailing on the freeway, when I hit a bump it pulls to one side. Theres alot of play in the steering wheel.

48 Suspension problem of the 2008 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 08/26/2018

Paint is chiping from the hood and from the trunk door. The other problem is that it vibrates at high speeds. It drives very smooth, but once I hit above 70mph on the highway it starts to feel shaky. I can feel the vibration on the steering wheel.

49 Suspension problem of the 2004 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 08/15/2018

Rusted out rocker panels, brake lines, front end radiator mounts, fender mounts. The entire under carriage is rusting away. We have had to replace all the brake lines as they have rusted away, redid the rocker panels rust away. Now we have to replace the entire front end because of rust. Will not pass PA state inspection due to rust. Is the Expedition in the recall for rust?.

50 Suspension problem of the 2014 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 11/27/2017

All 4 of our struts have a slow leak and need to be replaced. I have never once owned a vehicle that all 4 struts leaked at the same time. . Especially when the only driving is highway. Just found out today.

51 Suspension problem of the 1998 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 06/27/2017

When we bought the vehicle it had 22 inch chrome wheels and tires. It also wandered all over the road. We bought new stock sized rims and new stock sized tires. It still wanders all over the road. We had it aligned. It still wanders all over the road. Google shows many, many complaints regarding these vehicles' suspension, blaming rusting rear lower trailing arms and in one case a left stabilizer link broke. I have not crawled under the car as it is my sister's and she lives a ways away, but she wants to sell it and is worried if it is something major someone may get hurt. We can be driving straight down the road from 25mph to 60mph and the vehicle just sort of feels like the back end is not in line with the front or something and it just tries to change lanes on its own.

52 Suspension problem of the 2002 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 04/28/2017

Takata recall during an inspection of my suspension for worn bushings, I noted severe corrosion on my rear trailing arms for the rear axle. The lower arm on the passenger side actually had a quarter size hole in the inboard side of the web. This obviously greatly reduces the strength of the arms and could cause axle separation from the vehicle and an obvious control hazard.

53 Suspension problem of the 2003 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 04/03/2017

Vehicle vibrates badly especially at highway speeds. Vibration is so bad, the vehicle rocks side-to-side while driving. Driving at highway turnpike speed of 75mph, vehicle engine began to surge and then completely shut down. Oil pressure gauge indicated low oil pressure and vehicle would not start. Vehicle still had electrical function but engine no longer would turn over. Checked engine oil level and had engine oil. Called highway patrol and had to have the vehicle towed.

66 Suspension problem of the 2000 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 04/21/2014

Brake line above fuel line completely rusted through. Luckly I was stopped for fuel and lost brake pressure. Upon inspection at my local garage, all brake lines were rusted to the point all were replaced. Upon closer inspection, the rear suspension parts are rusting underneath the coating that covered the suspension parts. I realize the vehicle is 14 years old, but I have much older vehicles that have zero rust. Just for the record, we have years that we have no snow, so my exposure to salt roads is very limited. Items such as brake lines and suspension parts should be made of a better quality material. After all, this vehicle still has the original exhaust system! regardless of age, with just over 77k miles this is a serious safety issue.

67 Suspension problem of the 2000 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 02/26/2014

5 people in my vehicle driving 55mph on i40 around midnight when air suspension went out and everything in the dash went crazy. Air suspension would not work, been in the shop twice. First time they didnt know what was wrong. This time they know but I can afford to fix it. The gem module and fuse box is over 600. 00 plus labor! im disabled with a fixed income and I havent driven anywhere since Feb I cant get to my doctor, grocrey store, to get medicine for heart attack and other disabling illnesses. I cant afford another car or to fix my expo. This could have been dangerous I sure need some help with this.
