1 Wiper problem of the 2021 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 08/29/2025

While towing a rented trailer from tractor supply, the trailer detached because it was not properly secured by store staff. The trailer struck the rear bumper of my 2021 Ford Expedition, causing visible body damage and raising concerns about hidden damage to the drivetrain and transmission due to the sudden force of the impact. After the incident, the vehicle was taken to a Ford dealership for inspection. Documentation exists showing that additional drivetrain and transmission evaluation is needed to determine the full extent of damage. The rear-view camera is also under active NHTSA recall (25v048), and its poor image quality complicates safe reversing after the incident. The safety risk is significant: the trailer detachment created a roadway hazard and impact, while the rear camera defect reduces visibility and increases crash risk when backing. The vehicle has been inspected by a Ford dealership and is being reviewed under an insurance claim with tractor supply’s insurer. Full documentation of the service visit and inspection is available upon request.

2 Wiper problem of the 2021 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 08/20/2025

The contact owns a 2021 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while driving 60 mph in the rain with the windshield wipers engaged, the driver's side windshield wiper arm was jerking. The contact stated that upon pulling over to the side of the road and inspecting the vehicle, the contact noticed that the driver's side windshield wiper arm was lying on the windshield. The contact removed and placed the part inside the vehicle. After the rain had stopped, the vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was determined that the driver's side windshield wiper arm needed to be replaced. Additionally, the dealer determined that the passenger's side windshield wiper arm needed to be replaced because the wiper arm had worn out. The dealer ordered the parts. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 19,000.

3 Wiper problem of the 2024 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 07/25/2025

Passenger sideview mirror does not open upon unlocking and starting the vehicle. I need to stop (if started driving) turn to park, turn off car, open driver's door to signal car that I have left, lock car using remote, wait few seconds and then unlock to reset car then it usually opens. Issues with mirror began happening a month after purchasing brand new car (5/24), first mirror was "popping or clicking" upon turning outright, mirror had been replaced once, over last year issue has been on going and brought to dealershop " deemed a technological glitch" - no warning lights or messages appear - sometimes my control panel screen will turn black upon starting the car which I now know means to look at my passenger mirror. This last occurred on Friday 7/25/25.

4 Wiper problem of the 2024 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 03/29/2025

I just picked up the vehicle from the dealership where I was told a previous software updated addressed the wipers not working. But once again while driving they will not operate. This is a major safety issue, the vehicle was being driven in the rain. . . This is a highly dangerous situation that likely affects many if not all 2022-2024 Expeditions, especially with the 15" sync 4 system and it's apim module. Reference 11651060.

5 Wiper problem of the 2024 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 03/28/2025

When driving my entire window switch controller unit stopped working on the driver's side. At the time the window was partially down. After research I came to find this has been a common problem with the switch unit in Expeditions, f150s, explorers. This is a safety issue as you cannot get the window to roll up which allows rain and snow to enter the driver's side door and affect your vision. Also, because the whole switch unit stopped working at once, I can not fold/unfold my side mirrors and I can not adjust them. I have an appointment on April 8th for repair. The switch should be available for inspection with them then. There were no warning lights prior to it stopping working.

6 Wiper problem of the 2024 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 03/12/2025

The wipers will randomly stop working. The washer fluid spray does operate so pressing the button will spray the windshield but the wipers won't operate. Ford dealership has serviced it and said it's due to software problems with the apim module. There is no fix and that same module is affecting other features which have not worked since I purchased the vehicle. For a year I've been told a software fix is coming.

7 Wiper problem of the 2021 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 02/10/2025

The contact owns a 2021 Ford Expedition. The contact stated while driving 30 mph during the snow, the driver's side and passenger’s side windshield wipers ceased to work as intended. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.

10 Wiper problem of the 2024 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 11/12/2024

The rear view camera is so pixelated that you cannot make our images, especially at night. Ford has stated that they have knowledge that "some" "2022-2024 Expedition vehicles equipped with an analog camera and a 12-inch center display screen may exhibit a rear camera image that the customer describes as grainy, fuzzy, or pixelated" Ford claims this may be due to the interaction between the analog camera and the high-definition digital center display screen. They also state to us customers that there is no repair and not to attempt any repairs for this condition because the NHTSA has not released any recall for this known issue. This is extremely hazardous and negligent.

Ticket 11535782. Cella Ford repairs for recall has made issue worse. Climate center blower fan will not turn off at all and blows cold 90% of the time. No way at all to defrost/defog windshield or stop air from blowing. Just waiting now for the fire to happen with this vehicle.

13 Wiper problem of the 2015 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 05/01/2023

Had to fight to get cella Ford to comply with recall on front blower fan. First had to fight to get appointment and them not cancel due to parts not available when could have fixed with aftermarket part. When part is replaced, bad hum and dash/steering wheel vibrating and unit is surging. Cella admits to faulty replacement part and replaces again to have the same thing continue to happen and state that the surging is not their fault. So, recall not complete, safety hazard still alive in this vehicle due to no air conditioning system working and unable to defog windshield. This dealership should really be looked into about this recall.

15 Wiper problem of the 2021 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 03/10/2023

My car has a very scary safety recall. The important notice that I received states that Ford motor company has authorized your dealer to provide you with vehicle pickup and delivery, a rental vehicle or other alternate transportation all for free. I live in a very large city and can't find one dealership that says they buy into this free service. Not even the dealership where I purchased the vehicle. I do not have transportation to drop my vehicle and need this free service that is offered. I have contacted Ford with no response or help in finding a dealership that complies with their offer.

16 Wiper problem of the 2021 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 01/07/2023

On April 14, 2022, a recall was issued for the wiper blade arms for my Ford Expedition. Unfortunately, I did not receive a notice until June of that year, due to a separate recall concerning potential under the hood fire risks. In September 2022, my vehicle was brought in for both recall repairs, but there was a supply shortage of wiper blades, rendering any immediate resolution impossible. Despite subsequent visits for regular check-ups, the wiper blade shortage persisted. On two different occasions (Jan & March 2023) my wiper blades did not work properly. After the wiper blades moved back and forth to clear my window, they got stuck at an angle and completely obstructed my view. I went to my local dealership to temporarily correct the issue. Fast forward to July 2023, and the eagerly awaited wiper blades have finally arrived. However, installing them has revealed a new problem: the blades do not fully retract. Although the wiper motor itself functions correctly, this issue stems from a combination of programming and quality concerns. It appears that a small part within the wiper blade, which prompted the recall, has led the motor to adapt to functioning without that part. Consequently, when the new recall blades are fitted, they do not retract properly, obstructing my view. Upon identifying the problem, the manager at my Ford dealership promptly reported the issue to Ford, requesting coverage for the cost of a new motor to align with the recall blades. Despite their efforts, Ford has refused to take responsibility for an issue that is clearly not my fault. It is important to note that at the time of the recall, my motor was still under warranty. Additionally, during subsequent visits for oil changes, I was still within the warranty period. Unfortunately, due to the delay in receiving the recall blades, my motor's warranty has now expired based on the mileage of my vehicle. To receive a new motor, I have to pay for it since Ford refuses.

17 Wiper problem of the 2018 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 01/02/2023

Panoramic sunroof stuck in open position. Will not close without multiple failed attempts. When closing the sunroof makes a cracking and grinding noise. This issue has been identified by Ford, however my VIN does not currently fall under the open recall. Therefore, Ford will not cover the repair. Details of existing recall are below… Ford TSB 18-2374 some 2015-2019 f-150, 2017-2019 f-super duty, 2018-2019 Expedition/navigator vehicles equipped with a vista roof opening panel may exhibit a binding/sticking, glass stuck open or closed, noisy operation including chatter, rattling, or grinding. This may be due to the glass brackets cracking and/or breaking apart. The glass panel brackets are serviceable separately from the frame assembly and require the roof opening panel glass to be moved to the vent position. Follow the service procedure steps to correct the condition.

19 Wiper problem of the 2022 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 08/21/2022

I was driving in the express lane nb I-15 in utah. I was at highway speeds with no one around me. I had the visor that closed on my sunroof when all of a sudden I hear a loud explosion, it scared me and I immediately slowed and pulled off the road. I first thought maybe it was a tire, I checked and all were intact, then I saw glass and looked up on my roof and noticed that the sunroof was completely blown out. I apparently lost my panoramic portion of my sunroof, not the part that actually opens, the fixed portion. The glass is angled out like a slope up a mountain. I am lucky the visor was closed as it minimized the glass inside the vehicle and onto my kids. I just bought this vehicle from Ford on a special order and took possession of it 3-4 weeks ago. This was on a Sunday afternoon 8/21. I took it straight to the dealer Monday morning 8/22, they currently still have the vehicle. I have had no updates from the dealer. No warning lamps/lights before or after the incident.

20 Wiper problem of the 2021 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 06/16/2022

On 5/20/2022 I contacted my local dealership regarding recall 22v250 to discuss getting this issue repaired. I was scheduled an appointment on 6/16/2022 at 7:40 a. M. On 6/15/2022 I was told by the dealership that they were not going to repair my vehicle because I was not having any issues with it and I had to wait until there was a problem. When I made the appointment on 5/20/22 I was told that they would be able to repair it even if it was not broken and they would get the part ordered. I was told yesterday by the service manager that they had three parts in but they belonged to someone else and that since mine was not broken they could not fix it.

21 Wiper problem of the 2020 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 06/01/2022

I have a 2020 Expedition that we have had to change the windshield wipers out on frequently. I just replaced them last week and they are already bouncing during a heavy rain. I saw there was a recall to some of the windshield wiper arms but when I entered my VIN, mine was not included.

22 Wiper problem of the 2020 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 10/19/2020

On October 19, 2020 my husband and I were traveling on i295 south near jacksonville, florida when we heard an extremely loud explosion similar to a gunshot inside the Ford Expedition. The noise was so jarring my husband jerked the steering wheel but quickly gained control. We were lucky there weren't any cars in the left lane because we could have caused an accident. We weren't sure what had happened. As we quickly assessed the situation, we could hear the sound of glass cracking above us. The sun visor above us was closed as well as the sunroof. There was no damage to the sun visor, but we made the assumption that the sunroof was the cause of the loud bang and the sound of glass cracking so we kept the visor closed. If the sunroof cover was open we would have been covered in broken glass. We exited the highway as quickly as possible. We drove into the jacksonville Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram westside dealership in jacksonville FL, that was just off the highway and that is when we saw the sunroof had a large hole in it and the glass was continuing to shatter and disintegrate. It was clear from the way the glass was broken on the sunroof that it was as if the glass was blown outward from the vehicle and not caused by something hitting it from outside from above. Also there was no damage to the interior visor of the vehicle. We had not gone under a overpass and there were no cars in front of us and no other damage to the exterior of the vehicle. *having difficulty uploading images so if they aren't visible please contact us.

The mirror fails to adjust to the proper location and the mirror motor can't be stopped until the key is removed from the ignition and the electrical system is completely shut off (I. E. Opening and closing the driver-side door. I'm sure if the motor on the mirror was allowed to continue to adjust itself in an endless loop, it could pose a fire hazard (not to mention the function itself is faulty). 30 Wiper problem of the 2017 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 03/03/2019

As I was driving down I-29 at 5:00 Sunday morning with my wife and 4 children a truck passed me. It was 4 degrees outside, but the salt that the state had put on the road was melting the snow along the road causing the road to be wet with salty water. As the semi passed us, it sprayed the salt mixture onto our front windshield. I lost vision of the interstate, so I hit the wiper fluid lever. Nothing came out, so I tried it again. Again nothing happened. I could hear the motor running but nothing was coming out. Without being able to see, I had to slow my vehicle and pull off the road without being sure what I was pulling on. I couldn't see anything out of the front window. We had 2 hours left to drive and the road didn't look to be any dryer ahead of us. We had to stop at several gas stations along the route just to wash the dirt from our front window, but if we were passed by anything we had to make sure to be aware of the fact that I could loose complete vision of the roadway ahead of us. Our rear wiper fluid wouldn't work either. The temp got to 10 that day. My wiper fluid never did work. Only after it sat in the garage for 2 hours would it even work. So I decided to go drive and see how long it would work for, 20 minutes before it stopped. It was 10 degrees when I tested it. So today I called my dealership, sioux city Ford. I was told that I would have to go buy different washer fluid. I asked them if they used to different washer fluid in the system and that I would have to drain out the old stuff and put new stuff in it. I just had my car in for an oil change and they used the cheep stuff. The lady on the phone said that is all they have, and that if I request them to use anything different, we would have to buy our own and either bring it in, or fill it ourselves. We were going 75 when I lost complete vision of the road with no way to clean my window.

Rear widow defroster terminal fell off of right side of rear glass, crest Ford of flatrock michigan replaced rear glass on 12/26/2017 under warranty. On 01/28/2019 the rear window defroster terminal fell of the right side of that rear glass after13 months of use, at that time I was over my 36,000 mile warranty and contacted crest Ford looking for some help with this issue. Crest Ford contacted me about a week later and stated Ford motor would not cover the repair. On 03/01/2019 I appealed this directly to the Ford motor CO. Customer service and was told they would not replace the glass again. On 03/05/2015 I had a local glass shop replace the rear window at a cost of $262. 00. I feel that this is a safety issue and want to know if this is common with this vehicle and is there any complaints about this with Ford vehicles. Also I would like Ford motor company to reimburse me the $262. 00 dollars I spent on the new rear glass. Was driving vehicle both times when the terminal fell off the glass, first time the defroster had just turned off and the second time it was on.
