Brake Foundation Components Problems of Ford Explorer

While attempting to brake on 2005 Ford Explorer, also am hitting the accelerator pedal causing the vehicle to surge toward any object in front.

Brakes failed!!. The brake pedal moved over and on top of the gas pedal. The pressure from the brake pedal caused the Explorer to move on it own, towards a group of people in the dallas convention center parking lot. S. I pressed on the brakes, fast and hard, and then the Explorer stopped. Moreover, the Explorer picked up speed until I stepped on the brakes. The 2002 Explorer was repaired under warranty by prestige Ford in garland texas . I asked a reason for the brake to fail in a new Explorer. I stated that my family are afraid for lives and no longer want the SUV. Rick baker at pasadena Ford offered safety inspection, I in turn took to SUV in for an safety inspection, now safe . Per Ford , I also stated my family I are afraid of Explorer, and want other Explorer drivers warned before lives are lost. Pasadena Ford dealer, brad wilson said that he will submit my complaint to Fords motors corp. And mail a copy to me. To date not a no copy of the letter, or remibursment for out of pocket expense. The trip caused extreme financial hardship unable to pay leaseing company. To the leasing company is taking the Explorer for none payment. Please help. I mailed NHTSA a certified letter Aug. 28, 2002, no response to as oct. 14, 2002 mr.

The brakes failed and the vehicle started moving on its own. Consumer pressed on the brakes fast and it was hard to stop vehicle. When consumer checked the brakes, it was noticed that the brake pedal moved over on top of the accelerator pedal. The pressure form the brake pedal caused the vehicle to move on its own. The brake lights remained on and in turn damaged the battery. Consumer would like for Ford to buy back the vehicle.

Inside of the parking lot while traveling the pedal went all the way down to the floor. The dealership is aware of the problem corrective measure had been met. Nlm.

The consumer brought the vehicle for tire recall, and it was discovered the vehicle's rear brakes were non-functioning, also the rear calipers had rusted out and the pads were not making contact with the disc surfaces, dealer replaced rear pads and rotors.

The vehicle master cylinder failed three times,brake pads and shoe assemblies, rotors and calipers failed twice.

When stepping on brake, vehicle accellerated as brake pedal is lower than the gas pedal. This happened to two different drivers of above Explorer, and to a witness of todays accident in his own Explorer.

Step on brakes & foot hits gas pedal. Brake pedal is below gas pedal. Please call me for more info and that Ford was contacted and denies any problem or other complaints. This life threatening problem happened to this vehicle and at least two other vehicles.

Braking system malfunctioned, causing no braking ability, which may resultin a crash. Been to dealer several times, delaer cannot determine the cause. Please provide further information.

Brakes fail continuously, causing loss of control.

Vehicle would not start. On second occassion, took to dealer for diagnostics 4 times before actual problem was found.

Back seats do not have a lock down mechanism to secure the bottom portion of the folding seats, resulting in incidents where children have were injured due to seats flipping up unexpectedly.

Brakes failed twice.

While driving vehicle on the expressway vehicle accelerated to a very high speed, gas pedal went all the went to the floor, vehicle went wide open. This condition continued with foot on brakes, almost caused a serious accident. This happened twice.

Applied brakes, pedal went to floor and vehicle suddenly serged.

98 Ford Explorer - 1. Gas pedal sticks, so force must be used to get moving. . . Dealer ordered new throttle body. 2. Loud squel from front brakes (constant and loud enough to frighten people walking along road), dealer cleaned brakes, but noise returned after just 200 mile,. . . Problem appears to be sporadic and initially, applying the brake pedal slowed the vehicle down. Last incident caused engaging of parking brake, shifting to neutral and turning off ignition.

Brake wear down where will not stop vehicle, rotors and brake pads keep prematurely wearing out. Dealer contacted.

Brake pads were worn & needed replacing, in order to replace the pads and turn the rotors the mechanic had to break the rotor.

While applying the brake the vehicle continues to accelerate forcing the consumer off the road so as not to collide with other vehicles, this conditions has also caused a accident involving the consumers daughter, she sustained cuts to her face and other injuries. Nlm.

Excessive wear of the brakes and tires.

While driving at approx. 55mph, noticed vehicle suddenly accelerated unintendedly to 70mph without pressing accelerator pedal, ran over 4000rpm's, acted as though in cruise, but it was not engaged, when applied brakes, seemed not to slow down, turned off ignition.

While driving 40-45 mph when appyling the brakes, the brakes locked up causing loss of vehicle control. Consumer also states that the front right wheel came completely off and the truck flipped over causing injuries to the passengers. Nlm.
