Front Air Bag Problems of Ford Explorer - part 2

Consumer had 2 accidents due to sudden acceleration, neither time did airbags deploy. In July 2000, vehicle went through garage door, and on March 13, 2001,vehicle hit concrete wall.

While driving down a mountain in low gear, traveling 15mph with the road being slippery, hit an ice patch, and vehicle started swerving. Was unable to control vehicle and it hit an embankment, and neither airbag deployed.

Consumer wa sdriving and another car hit him head-on. Upon impact, driver's and passenger's air bags didn't deploy, no injuries.

While driving about 65 mph consumer tried to reduce speed of cruise control by applying brakes pedal, but abs locked up, making the vehicle turn/roll over. Upon impact, air bags did no tdeploy, and vehicle was totaled.

Prior to recall notification, vehicle experienced the cruise control sticking/throttle body failure, vehicle accident resulting from acceleration, no deployment of the air bags during collision resulting in injury to consumer.

The air bag unit came out of the steering wheel, replaced unit.

While driving driver's air bag deployed without any warning.

On icy surface with temperature of 30f, driver lost control of vehicle and veered into a guard rail on median, bounced off and hit guardrail on side of road head_on. Upon impact, air bags failed to drploy. Driver sustained injury.

While driving at 40-50mph,on dry pavement, vehicle hit large tree, frontal impact, neither air bag deployed. Dealer contacted and cannot remedy the problem. No warranty. Provide further information.

While driving at 30 mph owner was in direct frontal crash, there was no deployment of drivers or passengers airbags. The cause has not been determined. Vehicle is currently at dealers.

11:00 position, was hit by another vehicle, driver's and passenger's airbags flopped out with out any inflation.

While driving the truck ran off the road and struck a telephone pole head on. Neither frontal air bag deployed.

Vehicle hdroplaned & rolled none of the airbags deployed.

While vehicle was at a complete stop ,driver's airbag deployed. Dealer has replaced the airbag. Since the deployment of the airbag, dealer has repaired vehicle several times for the airbags. Manufacturer has been notified.

When driving at 40 mph consumer was involved in a frontal collision which demolished front end of vehicle. Upon impact, neither air bag deployed. Please give any further details.

Car was hit in the right front at 50mph and then hit in rear when the airbags and seatbelts did not work.

Air bags deployed inadvertently, causing minor injuries to driver. Ford was not able to determine why air bag deployed. Please provide further information.
