Driver & passenger windows fell down into the door while driving on 2 separate occasions. Just heard a loud crack when the window gave out and dropped with full force into the door. Rear window failure- 2004 f150 there are thousands of these complaints on the net and Ford does nothing. 115 in arizona and air can't keep up with a window that won't stay up. If my young sons dies because of the heat then it will be to late, then Ford will be paying big time.

39 Visibility problem

Failure Date: 07/14/2010

I have a 2004 Ford f150 lariat super crew cab. In the past 2 years I have had to have the power switches and regulators replaced in three doors on my truck. The latest being Friday, July 16, 2010. I have looked on numerous sites on the internet and see that this is a common problem with this truck. I called Ford and they say it is not a problem from their standpoint. This is a very costly problem to repair and should be considered a safety hazard.

40 Visibility problem

Failure Date: 07/07/2010

The drivers side window of my 2004 Ford f150 fell out due to a faulty regulator.

41 Visibility problem

Failure Date: 06/17/2010

I have now replaced both the front driver and passenger side window regulators on my 2004 f150 lariat. The driver-side window fell in June 2009 @127k mi. The passenger-side windows fell today (6/17/2010) @ 149k miles. The costs of replacing the regulator in each case were as follows: passenger side: $$539. 47 driver side: $500. 00 given all the reported incidents of this that I am seeing reported on various websites and forums, I strongly recommend that the NHTSA. Demand a manufacturer's recall for this obvious quality defect that is: 1) costly to repair 2) creates a dangerous in-car situation when it occurs during operation of the vehicle. Failure Date: 06/01/2010

On 6-1-10 the passenger side power window failed on my 2004 Ford F-150 truck. On 7-31-10 the drivers side window also failed. On each occasion the failure was preceded by an alarming bang from the door, on each occasion loss of vehicle control was narrowly avoided. These failures were fixed at Ford dealers totaling $ 656. 00 on both occasions the dealer retained the failed parts.

I have a Ford f150 2004 with only 45000 miles and the windows in the rear dropped will driving and my 8 year old son was sitting in the back seat. This is the second time. I am afraid this will become an extreme hazard and someone will end up hurt. Ford needs to fix this problem. . . Its will. . . If it hasn't already cost someone to crash and possibly lose a life.

49 Visibility problem

Failure Date: 03/15/2010

Problem power windows, within one week the drivers window fell to the bottom of the door, and next on the freeway the passenger window slammed down, apparently the cables are inferior. So how come no recall for this junk. Ford wants 700 to replace with the same inferior parts. Ford f150. And no I don't live on a dirt road and it's not a 4 wheel drive vehicle.

50 Visibility problem

Failure Date: 03/07/2010

2004 Ford f150, driving down the road and my window made a loud pop and fell. This is my 3rd window to break. Ford must recall this before someone dies.

51 Visibility problem

Failure Date: 03/06/2010

I own a 2004 Ford F-150. I have now replaced my fourth window regulator in less than a 1 1/2 year span. I have spent over $12000. 00 replacing them. Two of the windows hadn't been used when they just dropped down and wouldn't go back up. Motor/gear just grinded. Ford needs to do a recall on these regulators.

52 Visibility problem

54 Visibility problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2010

The driver side door window broke. I was at cvs and rolled the window down and it wouldn't roll back up. My husband took the door apart to get the window up but it won't stay up. We have checked and are having a hard time finding the part. Seems it's a dealer only part, we are checking junkyard because the part is almost $200 for the part, and this is the second time we have had to fix the window in this truck. The truck is a 2004 and I have had it 2 1/2 yrs and had to fix the window twice in that time.

55 Visibility problem

Failure Date: 01/14/2010

2004 Ford f150 - windows suddenly drop into door while driving. There are thousands and thousands of complaints on the www for this problem - please issue a safety recall this happened twice to me while the vehicle was in motion (while driving). Just trying to find out what made a noise and having my children suddenly pelted by rain and other road debris is a serious, serious, safety issue. I believe I've read that NHTSA has "petitioned" Ford to issue the recall, however, they have clearly stated to their consumers that they will do absolutely nothing unless NHTSA issues a safety recall. Please help consumers have the voice your organization was designed for - to not have manufacturers ignore consumer safety issues that can cause injury and even death. If your organization cannot help, who else can we turn to since the manufacturer is completely ignoring the consumer safety problem???.

56 Visibility problem

Failure Date: 12/26/2009

I have a 2004 Ford F-150 lariat with 83,000 miles on it. About 5 months a cable popped on my driver's side front window and the window fell. Now, 5 months later the drivers side rear window did the same thing. A loud pop then the window fell. Apparently this is a common problem in Ford vehicles and Ford refuses to fix them. Not to mention, it's costly for the owners to fix at $350-$400 per window this is a potential safety hazard and someone should hold Ford accountable.

57 Visibility problem

Failure Date: 11/23/2009

I was driving down the road when my window on my Ford f150 lariat came crashing down two weeks ago( my child was sitting next to the window she is 6 mths old) & it distracted me long enough to look back @ the road & there was a car stopped to make a sudden turn & I couldn't slow down fast enough & I hit them in the rear. All 4 of us went to hospital with minor injuries. It was my fault the cop said but I told him about the window & he didn't give me a ticket thankfully. Its still @ the body shop being fixed the problem was the window regulator & it is being replaced but the body shop manager says these go out way to much this is the 3rd one replaced on this truck, so I looked online & couldn't believe how many people have this problem I think you should research this & put a recall on them & make Ford fix them for free this is definitely caused from Ford trying to cut corners & save $ but this is a serious problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

58 Visibility problem

Failure Date: 11/22/2009

The contact owns a 2004 Ford F-150 superduty. The contact stated that the motor for the windows failed within the first 18 months of ownership. The driver, passenger rear and front passenger side motors have all failed. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who stated that because there were no related recalls, he would be responsible for repair costs. The VIN was unavailable. The manufacturer had not been notified. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

59 Visibility problem

Failure Date: 11/18/2009

This is a failure of the driver's side window falling down into the door while driving. This seams to be a very common problem for the Ford F-150 pickup. While it has not lead to a crash to my knowledge, the potential is there. Imagine driving down the interstate in crowed traffic and your window drops down without warning. Your attention will definitely be distracted from your driving and during inclement weather this could be even more dangerous. Everything I have read points to the same product failure. A recall should be mandatory before someone gets hurt.

60 Visibility problem

Failure Date: 11/14/2009

Driving 35 mph on smooth road, passenger attempted to lower side window and the window dropped to the bottom of the door (inside) and would not operate up.

61 Visibility problem

Failure Date: 11/09/2009

Same as everyone else . . . The window just comes crashing down without even touching it while we were driving along.

62 Visibility problem

Failure Date: 11/04/2009

My front passenger window fell into the door as I was stopped at a stoplight waiting to get on the highway. From the sound of it I thought the window had broken. It was a good thing I wasn't driving down the highway during that time. It probably would have caused a major accident.

63 Visibility problem

Failure Date: 10/30/2009

3 out of 4 windows on my 2004 Ford f150 have fallen down because of window motor regulator failure. Nothing has been done to fix the problem!.

64 Visibility problem

Failure Date: 10/25/2009

This safety concern is in regards to the power window regulators found in my 2004 Ford F-150. The first window regulator (driver's side) went out while in north dakota. There was no warning just a loud pop, followed by the window falling in the door. The passenger side window regulator broke one week later to the day. When both of these broke, I was left with near zero visibility inside the cab of my truck while driving or sitting. If there is any sort of precipitation, you are no longer protected. Also, the safety of my family, property, and truck has been jeopardized. Another problem arises when you go to get the problem fixed. I took my truck to a Ford dealership in jamestown, north dakota who new of the problem as soon as they saw my window. However, they were going to replace the regulator with the same part that obviously has built in obsolescence. Why would anyone pay $400 to fix one window, only to have it break days later; leaving them stranded, hurt, or worse. With literally thousands of complaints on the internet, and many submitted on this site, it concerns me to wonder if this problem has caused a fatal crash or incident yet. Maybe this is what it will take to have this problem looked at in detail. If Ford motor company is willing to stand behind a plastic window regulator that has broke in my truck twice, and thousands of other similar trucks, just to save a "buck" so be it. I am just one person speaking, but, when is a "buck" worth more than someone's life.

65 Visibility problem

Failure Date: 10/19/2009

Both rear windows in my 2004 Ford f150 broke at the same time and the windows dropped to the floor. I have had these replaced twice already and they keep breaking. I was just sting at a light then heard something like a rock hit the side of the truck then the window just dropped it was the cables that hold the windows up snapping. I have three very young children and live where there are extreme temps. I cannot have my young children exposed to these kind of environments. Ford is the only place to get these parts because they know there is a problem with them.

66 Visibility problem

Failure Date: 10/18/2009

I was going to my truck and I realized that the driver's side window was down. When I tried to raise it, it made a grinding noise and would not budge. All of my personal belongings were in my truck and someone could have easily taken them. I will not be able to go to work or school with the window down and I am not paying to have it repaired. This is Ford's responsibility. Something needs to be done about this issue.

67 Visibility problem

Failure Date: 09/28/2009

I heard a loud pop or bang when I was putting up the drivers side window. The window fell down and won't come back up. Motor turns and makes a grinding noise. Crossroad Ford cary nc repair estimate was $400 - $450.

68 Visibility problem

Failure Date: 09/16/2009

I was driving home on Wednesday, sept. 16, 2009, and the passenger side window in my 2004 Ford F-150 pickup, fell into the door. I could not get it to go back up and have no idea why this occurred. This could have been a very dangerous situation, as I was passing a large truck at the time and thought that I had been sideswiped. Ford should fix this problem based on the number of occurrences that I have now seen.

69 Visibility problem

Failure Date: 09/16/2009

Driving down the road and my driver window came crashing down. 2004 f !50.

70 Visibility problem
