The first problem was while driving on the interstate at around 70mph it felt like I was rear ended and pretty hard. I looked around and there were no cars nearby. In about 2 minutes it did it again and again the started to be intermittent. I took it to the shop the replaced coil pack and plugs and sent me on my way. I did not make it 2 miles down the road when the engine started to shudder. Took truck back they kept it for weeks then said it was fixed. They had installed the shield per the TSB and again sent me on my way. Within 1 mile it did it again and I waited to take it back as I needed my truck for work and they were giving me tiny SUV loaner cars. This time they replaced intercooler after weeks and weeks of it sitting there. This happened approx. 12 times. During this time I sent letters about my concerns to every person on the board of directors at Ford with no response. The customer service manager for Ford not only avoided my calls and would not reply to me then I tried to escalate above her and reached a very arrogant jerk that blew me off. Once finally getting a reply from sara inmon I got the reply I have expected. The corporate blow off! Ford does not let you get past csm. This has been going on for over 7 months. I had enough so decided to try to sell this death trap and dealerships were low balling me do to the known issues. When leaving a dealership and trying to cross a rural hwy the truck lost power and I was nervously slamming the gas pedal to the floor and nothing happened. I had a dump truck coming at me blowing its air horns. The truck started to go but barely limping. This has now happened 3 more times and Ford denied this has happened to other trucks and that they knew of the problem. They now will not even work on the problem period I was told they are not allowed to try to repair these trucks at all. I have a very dangerous truck.
First, this has happened many times, I would guess at a minimum 20 times over the past year or so. The date an mileage listed are estimates about the first time this happened. What usually happens is that I am waiting at a stop light and my vehicle will shutter as if it were about to stall and will then get a small burst of power and jerk forward slightly. As I mentioned, this has happened multiple times, and I always thought that my foot had come off the brake because of the jerking forward. I recently realized this was a problem when I heard about other people having similar issues.
On two occasions on the same date I lost power under acceleration and on the second occasion I was presented a "check engine" light. The vehicle was delivered to billy howell Ford cumming, GA that same date and left with them while I was out of town for a couple of days. I had just had it in the same dealer on 8/30 complaining of missing and "backfiring", but they claimed nothing was wrong. The dealer claims to have replaced air deflector and problem has not presented itself to that extent again. However, I do experience fairly significant stalling or delay in accelerating from dead stop.
During the process of draining engine oil, was removing the oil filter and oil started to pour out under the truck. There is an oil filter drain catch basin that is installed to make all the oil being spilled come out where it can be captured. The catch basin is not installed in a manner that allows the oil to drain properly, instead, the back end is lower than the drain portion. Blogs seem to confirm this is a problem with many of these trucks.
Vehicle acts as if it wants to stall during rainy conditions upon high acceleration, only during wet conditions does the ecoboost not accelerate when needed. Has caused 3 serious situations where power was needed and expected but truck sputtered and would not accelerate. This has been dangerous and dealer has no fix. I am unhappy with this engine. There are no lights that come on to warn you of the condition, and you cannot tell there is a problem when cruising at highway speeds, only when you go to pass or need power.
Upon acceleration my truck shifted roughly sputtered and shut down, then the wrench showed up and I had to drift to side of road. This has happened 3 times. They have done a computer update 1st time, no luck, replaced a loose pin,no luck, replaced computer , no luck, replaced crank shaft sensor, no luck. This is a serious safety event. Two times my truck stalled and shut off while merging onto an extremely busy highway. I have children that ride in my truck and I do not feel safe. I have opened a case with Ford but all they want to do is keep fixing it. 44,000 truck , transmission stinks and I want a refund. Someone is going to be seriously hurt or die due to this problem.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the vehicle would stall sporadically while attempting to accelerate. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer for a diagnostic test but the dealer was unable to generate any failure codes from the diagnostic machine. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 7,200.
While driving at a constant speed you could not increase in speed. The engine would only shutter until I stopped and restarted the engine. This happened a number of times, at three different time it put me in danger while in heavy traffic. It would not allow me to increase speed to get out of danger only come to a complete stop at the side off a busy interstate. I found a service bulletin from Ford and they installed the new vain in the turbo. This helped the problem but it really hurt the fuel mileage after that.
2011 Ford f 150 with eco boost. When I accelerate the vehicle stalls out, bogs down, looses power and shutters. I have taken in the shop several times and they could not fix it. I recently took it back in and hey changed the spark plugs which helped a little however still really rough. I am thinking of filing. Lawsuit against Ford. I have tied to trade out of the vehicle and I'm upside down because of bad publicity I'm being told. I thought I had. Lemon but I guess it's all the engines.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, the technician was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. Vehicle experienced hesitation when trying to accelerate. Vehicle experiences jerkiness and at times complete power loss when trying to accelerate. Most recent event (Sep 2013) involved a near crash due to vehicle rapidly losing power in busy traffic. Other incidents in the past have included stalling in the middle of an intersection when trying to accelerate from a full stop and nearly losing control when pulling a boat/trailer and the vehicle began to lurch/jerk when going up hills.
