Hauling a full 2 horse trailer. Approaching a red light when I hit my brakes they went all the way to the floor. I had the truck towed to my repair shop. They discovered a slice in the brake line. In all of their years of experience they have never seen this. See attached photo.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. While driving, the brakes seized when the brake pedal was depressed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the brake pads and rotors were replaced. The failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the mechanic where the piston, rotors, brake line, brake pads, and brake fluid were replaced; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to big country Ford Lincoln (500 w commerce st, brownwood, TX 76801, (325) 643-1651), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures and referred the contact to NHTSA. The failure mileage was 94,000.
Brake lines collapsed twice causing wire brakes and rotors . Service center recommended filing a complaint .
Loss of brakes while driving. Brakes stopped working. Pedal went all the way to the floor and nothing happened. Had to use emergency brake to stop. Towed car to Ford to get brakes fixed. Brake line ended up breaking and rotors were damaged.
