4 Brakes Failed problem

Failure Date: 11/16/2019

2013 Ford F-150 platinum truck. I got in my truck and pulled out of a parking lot. I was about to turn and get on the interstate. A car was in front of me and when I mashed the brakes the petal was stiff. There was a noise coming from the brakes. It seemed. I was able to move to the side of the rode before striking the rear of the car and come to a stop. I then proceeded slowly to an empty parking lot. I got out and walked around the vehicle and looked under the hood. No leaks that I could see and the brake reservoir was full. I drove around the parking lot and mashed the brakes several time and then it went back to working. This has been happening on several occasions. I see a recall but it is not for my VIN. Why? this is a very serious safety hazard so why is Ford not taking this serious. I have been in the fire service for 31 years and have seen the outcome of brake failure. This is not good.

6 Brakes Failed problem

Failure Date: 10/26/2018

Billy cain Ford sold a truck to me as low mileage with no carfax damage. Salesman tom chacko promised a carfax report at closing. He failed to produce the report upon delivery to me at work. Tom vowed the truck had no damages. Carfax/auto check showed 4 brake failures and 2 alternator failures. Greene Ford verified flood damage 12-11-18. Tom chacko denied their findings 12-12-18, requested written report. Lemon squad documented flood damage 12-26-18. All three reports show consistent flood damage. Jason pirkle warranty/finance manager refused to repair failed emissions stating they were not covered under my extended warranty purchase. The emissions coded 170mi after purchase indicating that code was reset before my purchase. The emissions damage was covered under emissions performance warranty coverage federal mandate. Greene Ford gladly repaired the emissions with no issues. Jason pirkle presented the truck to wells fargo bank, state farm insurance, and Ford motor warranty division as undamaged value. The truck only has salvage value because of the flood damage. Over $5000 in repairs and 34 days in the repair shop. The truck has massive electrical issues from flood damage. I have not driven the truck since 12-11-2018. Major efforts were taken to deceive the buyer of this truck. If billy cain Ford had presented the truck truthfully I would have never purchased the truck. Billy cain Ford did a purchase inspection, maintenance service inspection, and complete detail so they had knowledge of flood damage. A registered mail request for buy back was sent to cody cain 1-17-2019 and he not responded to the request. Billy cain Ford has not made a honest written offer to resolve this issue to date.

9 Brakes Failed problem

Failure Date: 06/10/2017

On Saturday June 10, 2017 I was out of town with family in cary, nc. We were leaving the hotel parking lot that morning and when I started the truck and put truck in reverse the brakes did not work. . After looking, I saw there was no brake fluid. There was no brake fluid on the ground so I didn't know what the issue could be. I got more brake fluid then drove to a mechanic. By the time I got to the mechanic (1 mile down the road) the brake fluid was gone again. After the mechanic looked at issue, it was determined that the brake booster failed. They found that there were no parts and it took until Tuesday June 13, 2017 to get part and repair. Thinking there must be an issue since no parts were available. I found that 126 complaints were registered regarding the brake booster on 2013 Ford f150's. After calling Ford it was determined that my 2013 Ford f150 was not on the list. My Ford f150 had the exact same major issue that the Ford f150's that were recalled. This is very disturbing that the brakes went out, especially after we had just drove through the west virginia mountains. I have talked to Ford multiple times and they are not willing to do anything about this issue. Only until the part is put on the recall list for my VIN# will Ford do something. I have been told to keep my receipts just in case it is put on the recall list. I find this very upsetting that the exact same part had been recalled on other 2013 Ford f150, but my VIN# was not on the list. I had the exact same issue and this could have been a very bad problem if this happened in the mountains that we had driving through. I have the part that failed and all receipts. I hope that this complaint gets noticed and something is done. Thank you.

Two days after purchasing this two year old used limited edition f150 the power brake assist failed; weather condition was rain. Returned it to dealership who did nothing as they could not duplicate the problem. This has happened several times since purchasing the truck, and reported to the dealership, and is a major concern to me as I tow a 26' travel trailer with it. Rate of speed when applying brakes was @15mph or less, and each time the roads were wet. Called Ford today and established case # cas-11141043 for this repeat condition after dealership said there were no recalls or tsbs and that it was uncertain if it's under warranty. Today was the most recent incident and the truck is back at the dealership now.

13 Brakes Failed problem

Failure Date: 08/04/2016

I was driving my 2013 Ford F-150 down the highway at highway speed when I got an audible and visual warning on my dashboard telling me that my brake fluid was low. I cleared the message and noticed that a smaller red "brake indicator" light remained lit in the instrument panel. I tapped the brakes to make sure they were working. They were working. I immediately slowed down and proceeded rather cautiously exiting the highway in route to my local Ford dealership, which was not more than 1 mile from the end of the exit ramp. As I proceeded to the dealership I tested the brakes multiple times. Once I arrived at the dealership I parked the F-150 in a parkign spot. After checking in, the technician asked me to pull my truck into the service bay so that he could have a look at it. When I returned to the F-150 I cautiously backed out of the parking spot. As I began to brake so that I could shift the F-150 into drive, the brakes failed. The brake pedal went completely to the floor and there were no brakes. I quickly applied the emergency brake and avoided, by just inches, craching into the vehicles behind me. I put the vehicle in park and asked my teenage son to get the technician. The technician parked the F-150 back in a parking spot and I left it there for repairs.

On July 7 2013 I experienced a complete brake failure while driving on a major state route. I was able to get my vehicle to the dealership for repairs. They explained that the repair was not under warranty. Upon further investigation I discovered that there was a recall for the exact problem that my vehicle experienced. When I called this to the dealers attention, the said my vehicle was not part of this recall. This vehicle has less than 50,000 miles and could have been involved in a serious accident had I not known how to control a vehicle with no brakes. Total brake system failure as I was driving on residential streets. Without warning, within one block vehicle went from having fully functional brakes to total brake loss. Previous to failure, vehicle exhibited no handling issues, sounds, or symptoms to indicate that there was a problem. The vehicle was traveling approximately 25 mph when I touched the brakes. Without warning a loud, high pitched sound started coming from the front drivers side of the vehicle. The sound lasted about 5 seconds. When the sound ended, the brakes did not function and when I pressed the brake pedal it went straight to the floor without resistance. All regularly scheduled and recommended maintenance had been preformed. As a result of brake failure, vehicle sustained damage to passenger side. The vehicle was towed to the dealership.
