1 Driveshaft problem

Failure Date: 12/19/2018

While driving down the interstate our truck shut down stopped working. We coasted to the side of the interstate and re-started the vehicle. No warning lights, nothing the vehicle engine shut off. There was a wrench that appeared. We took the vehicle to a repair shop to determine what the code of issue indicated an issue. No code was detected. We were told that perhaps it was bad fuel. We purchased a fuel cleaner. Again, we traveled down the interstate and again the vehicle shut down without warning. We took it to the shop to find out that the bracket holding the entire drive shaft was broken. We replaced the part. Still the vehicle downshifted for no reason. We again took it to a repair shop and finally a code appeared. The code indicated that the transmission control switch was in error. This is a very dangerous issue. We called Ford motor company and there is no recall at this time. A very dangerous sit-in 2, 1. The drive shaft could have seized the rear wheels, thereby causing an accident. 2. The transmission control switch indicated that the engine shuts down with no warning. Please be aware that both of these situations could have caused a fatal accident, yet Ford motor company refuses to provide assistance, send out a warning to others that may be effected. This is irresponsible on the Ford motor company to provide no indication or warning to people that own these vehicles. 2011 and 2012 have been recalled. Please have your vehicles checked for both issues. The code that finally resulted in our further insistence p. 1780-00 for your and any passengers safety. Please have your vehicle inspected.

2 Driveshaft problem

Failure Date: 05/30/2015

I have some strange shifting issues with this truck Ford has denied me a fix. As of now, it seems to be consistent with the split two-piece drive shaft "bump". (spline yoke needs grease) or TSB 14-0090 for the rear differential. It feels like sometimes you hit a bump but the road is smooth. Drive shaft spline needs grease? also, very rough "clunk" when shifting from reverse to drive and vice-versa. Second gear shuddering at times under slight acceleration. Rough shifting random, but it happens from time to time. I've been to one dealership several times. I've contacted Ford customer service for some assistance. . . The first time I got basically nowhere. This time, the representative from Ford says she cannot talk to me at the times I am available. I feel like they are hiding the problems with refusal to "fix" the truck. I know I've read all over the internet this is happening to other F-150 owners. Very frustrating and annoying. I've talked to a local area drive-train specialty shop. He said to bring it by and look at it for me at a cost. However, my truck is still within the drive-train warranty. . . But Ford refuses to assist their very own customers. Not a very happy customer any more. I just want my truck repaired permanently. Oh, yes, the dealership did finally replace the front pump assembly in the transmission earlier this year, but that has not resolved the problem.

3 Driveshaft problem

Failure Date: 08/31/2013

The truck I bought has been shaking since the day I picked it up and brought it home. At 55 mph the truck has a distinct wobble. It has been back to sharpnack Ford twice for the problem and I was told they drove four other trucks on their lot and they all do the same thing. Also they took the tires off of mine and swapped them with another truck with the same result. I was told they took the drive shaft apart and rebuilt it, still no fix. After two times back to the shop, I was told by the head mechanic that Ford told him no more repairs will be done to this truck. I can see the bed wobble as I am going down the road and am confident this is where the problem is. Ford is not willing to do anything about it claiming the frequency is within specification limits. I have also driven a 2012 and a 2013 and both of them do the same thing. I'm not sure this is a problem that will cause imminent danger to anyone unless you factor in the"road rage" someone will have after paying 45k for a brand new piece of garbage that the manufacturer refuses to do anything about to fix.
