Tl the contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the vehicle made an abnormal rattling noise, which was a distraction. The vehicle was driven to Ford Lincoln of franklin (1129 murfreesboro rd, franklin, TN 37064, (615) 800-6500) where it was diagnosed that new cam phasers and a timing chain kit needed to be installed. The vehicle was scheduled to be repaired today. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and transferred the contact to NHTSA. The failure mileage was 53,000.
When cold starting the eco boost engine a loud rattling noise can be heard for several seconds. . .
