1 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 05/07/2019

Driving on major highway, 65-75 mph, lost engine power and had to pull over, trying not to cause a wreck, and stopped between busy highway and on-ramp to the highway. Found that the engine had stalled and wouldn't restart. Found #27 fuse melted. Changed fuse and was able to restart engine. I don't like repairing Ford's engineering mistakes, nor do I like being put in danger because of them. I use this truck for work and have a lifetime's accumulation of specialty tools kept in this truck for my job. If the truck goes up in flames, will Ford replace what is lost? the way this fuse, fuse box, and the connection has failed looks as there can potentially be a fire. In my case, there was an interruption in normal traffic flow, at high speed, that could a resulted in a wreck, injury, death, etc. I will fix this, probably on my own dime. What I don't understand is why is this not required to be fixed by Ford. It's an obvious safety hazard that even Ford has acknowledged and provided a TSB to address the problem.

2 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 09/26/2018

Ford F-150 3. 5 v6 ecoboost stalls out at excessive speeds. While trying to overtake another vehicle the truck misfires because of the intercooler cools the air to cold to evaporate the condensation and hits cylinder four which cases it to misfire which then cause the engine to stall. Ford knows about these problems but does not notify the customer about the potential of it happening to people purchasing the vehicle. This is a major safety issues!.

3 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 05/10/2018

Engine stalls out periodically. Very dangerous in heavy traffic. This happens every time while in motion not sitting still. This is the eco boast 6 cylinder engine. Has been numerous reports with others but Ford still won't issue a recall on these engines. It has 89350 miles on it. I'm going to change the plugs & boots this weekend but I'm sure that will not solve my problem. Ford is being stubborn on recalls. Hopefully no one gets hurt in these vehicles before they issue the recall. Thanks NHTSA.

4 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 07/24/2017

Fuse #27 for the fuel pump is burning up on one side. Engine stalls intermittently. Will not restart for a while after.

5 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 07/03/2017

The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. While driving 30 mph, the engine stalled and the maintenance warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was able to restart and resume normal operation. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer (coconut point Ford 22400 s. Tamiami trail, FL 33928), but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 114,000.

6 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 07/25/2016

While driving (on highway or elsewhere), v8 engine will stall and stop suddenly without any warning for no apparent reason. Happen to me twice on 2 days. Won't create any fault in the obd. First time, happen to me on the highway, I was very lucky not to have been hit by other vehicles. Took the car to Ford farway in greenville, SC, they couldn't find anything wrong with the car. The car will always start back after 45 min to an hour. Then will shut down for no reason again. This is a threatening with potential death situation if it happen in heavy traffic. . . So please, ask Ford to investigate all v8 to find quickly the reason why this is happening.

7 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 12/21/2015

My truck has over 115,000 miles on it now I drive 50,000+ miles a year. I bought the vehicle new 1st occurrence was at appx 50,000 miles I was attempting to pass on interstate the engine stalled started run rough and lost power this corrected it self after I let off the throttle in a few seconds. It did this one more time a few days later. Talked to local dealer asked about fuel filter, they said there was no filter. They recommended running fuel injector cleaner. I did this and continued to do this but engine idled rough at stop signs even in park. It finally did the same thing a third time and then again from a stop sign. I had spark plugs replaced this was at 95,000 miles this helped I did not have the stumble problem again but still idles rough. Finally 2 days ago it was going down road and wrench light came on and vehicle went into limp mode pulled over shut off and restart engine it went into normal mode no problem. I have cleaned the map sensors all three but no help. I did note map sensors are wet. I rear in one of your many complaints about this problem that it may be condensation from inter-cooler this sounds plausible. When it goes into limp it does not throw a code so no way to know what is wrong. I have spoke to my dealer no help. I have not called Ford yet. I have rear multiple (100s) of similar complaints a lot of them on your site. Will it take someone dying for you to force Ford to fix this. The truck cost over 50,000 I am still paying for it and it is unsafe. I had a Nissan with over 300,000 miles and no problems do we need to buy foreign made vehicles to get a good product? will american companies not stand behind their products? I as a tax payer bailed out Ford and gm can I not expect a quality made product in return! I guess after someone dies in a crash caused by the f150 stalling on the highway the NHTSA will finally step in an force a recall!!!.

8 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 12/08/2014

Vehicle sputtered and stalled while slowing down on freeway. After towing to dealer, dealer could only find loose battery cable. 2 days later engine stalled again while accelerating on freeway with same symptoms. Vehicle will not start and is with dealer who initially said no issues can be found. Vehicle symptoms match description of "limp mode".

9 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 01/13/2014

Ford ecoboost engine. Traveling on state highway (one lane in each direction) at about 45mpg (speed limit was 55). I attempted to pass a slower car. I depressed the accelerator and move into the oncoming traffic lane. As I came even with the slower car, the engine cut out and I was only able to maintain a speed of 40 to 45 mph. Another car pulled in right behind me to also pass the slower car at the same time. A semi trailer crested the hill and was quickly approaching. I was unable to hit the breaks and return to my lane of traffic because the second passing car was accelerating quickly behind me and I was unable to accelerate at all because the engine was stalling. The second passing car realized something was wrong and hit the breaks allowing me to also slide back in line as the semi shifted onto the shoulder in his lane. We went three-wide on a two lane highway at highway speeds. After about a minute, the engine warning lights went out on the dash, the engine kicked back in. I was able to safely pass the slower car and traveled home. I took the truck to the local dealer for evaluation and they told me this is known to happen during rainy weather. Weather at time of incident, partly cloudy, around 4:30 in the afternoon. This is the third time my engine has cut out on me during acceleration. This is the only time to nearly wrap up four vehicles in a nasty wreck.

10 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 07/19/2013

The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 mph in rainy weather, he attempted to pass another vehicle when the engine stalled with the illumination of the check engine warning indicator. The engine resumed normally within ten seconds. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where a diagnostic was performed. The technician stated that the failure was related to the eco boost engine, however there was not a remedy available for the repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 6,000.

11 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 07/14/2013

I was trying to pass another car when my engine stalled. I was going about 45 to 50 mph when I went to accelerate around the car and my engine completely stalled and lost power. The transmission light appeared. It had been raining alot and was humid and wet although not actively raining at time of malfunction. I drive a new Ford f150 v6 with ecoboost technology.

12 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 06/19/2013

Wipers not working right--battery light comes on - engine stalls on road while driving--gauges not working right-had speed set at 55 mph and motor went down but start up on it's own---radio stops working alone with the phone too; they but in a new battery on my request and now new things are happening to gauges an tack jumping up and down with the key out??? alarm goes off some times when my phone rings an I am not in the truck!!!.

13 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 06/06/2013

Since new if traveling highway speed of 70 and I accelerate to pass the engine stalls while in the passing mode and there is no power resulting in un able to pass and engine light flashes during this happening. Not safe to pass at high highway speeds . At 27000 this is still happening.

14 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 05/25/2013

2013 f150 XLT w/ ecoboost 42k cost , had to accelerate to get out of the way of a potential accident and the engine stalled started missing barely missed totaling the truck had to plow in to a grass median to keep from being hit. I was able to restart the truck and get it home and have not driven it since. I am so disappointed. If this is not a safety issue I don't know would be, this is scary stuff.
