Brake Light On problems of the 2014 Ford F-150

Upon moving vehicle to raod, low brake fluid light appeared. There was no brake pressure and brake pedal went all the way to floor. Vehicle would not stop!. After looking under hood, little to no brake fluid in reservoir. Filled it up and attempted to drive. Brake pedal still very soft and after 1/4 mile drive, brakes had no power again. No leaking is visible. Let vehicle sit for two days after filling up fluid reservoir and it is now almost completely empty.

The brakes on my Ford f150 went out completely, while driving. The time from brake light to no brakes was about 3-4 minutes. I had to use the emergency brake to maneuver. Fortunately I was turning into a gas station. Although a recall has been created for 2013-2014 Ford f150 for the exact issue with my truck, my truck is not a part of the recall (brake master cylinder leaking into the brake booster). This is very dangerous. I had no brakes. I asked the Ford service provider if they report the issue, and the response was they do not. I am concerned that there are other drivers out there who will have their brakes go out while driving. Please review this immediately so that others will know there is a possibility their brakes could go out. I am attaching the service detail. I was told that the brake master cylinder just has a faulty part that went bad. How does that happen to a brake system? not sure what would have happened if my wife or son had been driving.

Was driving and came to a stop light brake warning light lit on dash and pedal went to the floor. Had to use emergency brake to come to a stop. Very carefully tool back roads home as to not have to use brakes any more than needed. Next morning found master cylinder leaking into brake booster. The f150 has 116,000 miles. If I wasn't driving this could have been a major wreck or serious injuries.

Low brake fluid light came on as I was coming off the freeway on the off ramp. Pressed brakes and had no brakes. I had to use the parking brake to avoid smashing into vehicles at the stop light. After getting vehicle stopped into a parking lot. I looked up my vehicle for recalls. Had a recall for brake master cylinder blowing fluid into the brake booster. Took the car to my local Ford dealer, and due to the miles, they gave me the impression my vehicle was not covered by the NHTSA recall and that they would have to get authorization to fix the vehicle, otherwise I'd have to pay for it. (never knew recalls were subject to mileage).

Driving down the highway, trying to change lane to exit the road, press on my brakes to slow down, then my brakes light came on, saying iam low on brake fluid, and my breaks dont work, the pedal went al the way down to the flood. Put on my hazards light on, and let the truck slow down to an exit, very slow to stop while driving. Found out there a recall on my truck, call Ford #, they tell me that the truck had been service before in 2016, and there only one recall fix per vehicle. So iam out luck, the brake booster and master cylinder have to be replaced again. . At my own expense. . .

I experienced a total failure of the brakes system. The brake light was not on and only came on later. The oil reservoir was totally empty and a even with a quart of oil added the reservoir is still empty with no visible leak. I was lucky to be able to stop the truck in a snow bank and no damage occur. I contacted Ford and was told that my truck was not on the recall list but according to the recall (2013-2014 F-150 3. 5liters) I ask why but got no answer.

Tl-the contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving 25 mph the brakes on the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that they had to apply extreme preasure on the brakes for the vehicle to stop completely. The brake warning light did illuminate after extreme preasure was applied to the brakes. The vehicle was taken to thunder basin Ford at (307) 682-4735 1100 w 2nd st, gillette, wy 82716 where they were informed that the brake failure was due to a failed booster in the brakes and they can do nothing. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was not contacted. Jw.

Brake light comes on and brakes fail to operate while driving. Brake fluid draining for master cylinder and entering booster.

Advance trac service warning light at 42000 miles on a muddy road. Followed manual for reset. It came back on in 200 miles on dry roads. Vehical has been washed of all mud. Now all the brake light warnings are on on the dash. Abs, advance track service warning light, car with squiggle lines won't go off. Called for service. Reading this is a very common complaint!! recall????.

Emeerency brake system failure. Emergency brake will not release. Emergency brake light comes on when vehicle shifted from park to drive. Emergency brake light alarms and displays randomly while driving down road. Emergency brake system alarm will not release after multiple pull attempts.

Low brake fluid light came on while driving on highway. Complete loss of brakes unable to slow down or stop. Used emergency brake to avoid crash.

2014 f150 ecoboost lost power brake assist at 70 mph. Recently had master cylinder replaced under recall program. Dealer can not find any issue with brakes. This is a serious safety concern to lose ability to stop truck, no issue prior to recall replacement. Pedal became hard and required 2 feet to bring truck to stop. Check brake system light came on and brake idiot light. Had towed to dealer. Unable to find an issue.

I own a 2014 f150 4x4 with 3. 5 eco boost v6, on my way to work the brake light came on than the low brake fluid light came on and immediately after that the warning ding. Went to hit brakes and they went to the floor and the truck would not stop. I had complete front brake failure and very little breaking in the rear wheels. With what little rear brake I had I was able to slow the truck down and limp it to the store where I checked the fluid level and it was empty. Thinking I was the cause I put two cans of fluid back into the system trying to get it to the dealership. Not 2 blocks later the breaks are gone again, I was able to get it to the dealership where they said they thought this would be warranty work knowing full well it was a recall. I was not informed or told by the dealer nor the Ford of the recall and break system failure. They also report that dealer stock parts can't be used and that Ford has to sent them the new parts. Great untested parts that I cannot get accept through dealership. I complained to Ford and they have ignored me. The dealership has the truck and has not communicated at all to me in a week.

I noticed the truck seemed to lunge forward even though my foot was on the brake. As I was approaching a stop sign. Shortly after that, Ford sent me a recall on the brakes. (not for that problem though). I contacted the Ford dealer. They indicated no parts were available to fix the problem until at least the 4th quarter but to bring it in if the brake light came on in the panel. I am trying to trade the truck in or return it to Ford because it is a lease and the Ford dealer doesn't want it because they indicated there is no fix for the recall at this point. The dealership offered me $6000 dollars less than the value of the truck because it has a recall on it. I don't feel I should be penalized to receive a reduced amount for the truck because of the Ford recall. I have filed a complaint with Ford also. Any help or assistance that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.

When attempting to stop while towing 7,800lb 5th wheel camper the brake pedal went to the floor and the brake warning light came on. I had to use the trailers electric brakes to stop the truck. I then checked the truck for leaks and found none. When I checked the brake fluid level it was empty. Truck bed to be towed to a dealer. Ford admitted it was covered under a safety recall but has no replacement parts and doesn't know when they will have any ready.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. While driving at various speeds and attempting to brake by depressing the brake pedal, the brake pedal traveled to the floorboard. The contact stated that the vehicle was stopped by pumping the brakes and using the emergency brake. The contact stated that the check brake fluid light illuminated on the instrument panel prior to the failure. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, but was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 34,700. The VIN was not available.

Tonight on 5/13/2016 I had a complete brake failure and my low fluid brake light came on. I luckily was able to stop the truck without crashing but the gas me very concerned. I added a full quart of fluid and it was gone in 2 miles stein and I experienced another brake failure.

Low brake fluid light illuminated on the way to work. A few minuted later brake pedal started getting soft. Turned around and headed to dealership, brakes getting worse. Had to drive in low gear and double pump brakes. Got to an autoparts store after 4 miles. Master cylinder was empty. Bought fluid and refilled. Pedal was better, but not normal. Drove another six miles to dealership. Made it barely with no accident. Master cylinder mostly empty on arrival. Looked under the vehicle at both stops. No visible leakage. Also, when I took the top off the master cylinder to refill (engine running), could hear hissing. There seemed to be a vacuum on the master cylinder. Pretty sure that is not the way it supposed to be. I assume a seal failed somewhere and the vacuum assist sucked all the fluid out of the master cylinder.

While going down a toll road at 85 mph (the speed limit) a brake warning light came on. After pumping the breaks a couple of times it was obvious that I was losing fluid somewhere. Within 10 minutes the breaks barely responded to my pumping so I took the truck to the Ford dealer that was nearby. The master cylinder apparently failed with no warning or without any outside "issues". The truck has 69,000 miles so the warranty was no longer valid. Cost was almost $900 to replace.

Service brakes - I have 29,000 miles and with out warning the low brake fluid light came on and loss of braking while I was sitting still. Went and got 2 bottles of fluid and filled drove 10 miles and all fluid was gone and so was brakes. Took truck to Ford and they replaced both the booster and master cylinder with the same oem replacement parts. This is not yet a recall but an investigation so with the same parts installed I am very nervous now to drive the truck until and remedy has been provided.

I was driving and the brake light came on, then the low brake fluid message came up and finally the break pedal went to the floor. I lost all breaking power. I was able to get to the dealership and they said it was the master cylinder leaking into the break booster. Both had to be replaced.

Yesterday when I got into my truck and started it the low brake fluid light came on and the brake pedal instantly when to the floor leaving the truck with no brakes. I got out and checked the brake fluid reservoir level and it was completely empty but, there was no leaks anywhere, the truck had to be towed to get fixed. I discussed it with joe and upon exploring this further joe came across the attached article and it turns out this sudden total loss of breaks has happened to several other f150 truck and are being investigated.

The contact replenished the brake fluid in order to remedy the failure; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The technician diagnosed that the master braking cylinder and the brake booster needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 38,000.

I started to pull out of my drive way and applied the brakes before entering the street. The brake pedal went completely to the floor failing to stop the truck I used the park bake to stop the vehicle . At this point I noticed the low brake fluid light had come on . I very carefully back the truck back into my drive way using the park brake to stop the vehicle again . I was lucky no cars were coming or we would have had a accident . I called the Ford dealer who told me to call roadside assistance . The vehicle was towed to the Ford dealership where they found that all the brake fluid had gone into the brake booster. I was informed that no replacement parts were available and they would put in a emergency order for them to speed things up. This leeds me to believe that Ford is having real problems with these parts and this is not a isolated problem .

I was driving hwy 290 in houston, TX the low brake fluid light came on within an addtional 4 to 6 miles I lost all my brakes. Lucky I didn't panic and was able to get off the highway and pull into a strip center and use the emergency brake to stop. The brakes would not even stop when truck was idling. I have never had brakes fail especially with a new truck. I am still leary about driving a truck whose brakes failed completely and will probably never get that feeling out of my head. The dealship said the master cyclinder failed and pushed all the fluid into the brake booster. I called Ford motor company and spoke with a lady named debohra. She said she was sorry but parts fail and they could not even issue an extened warranty for the truck. She did offer a service plan for the truck. But I am not looking for something for free I just want my truck covered and feel safe it in with my family. I am very lucky there was no traffic and didn't wreck or have my son in the car with me. This could have been a terrible issue and should be addressed by Ford in a more concerning manner.

Driving to work on the local freeway. Low brake light came on and I pulled off to a near by autozone . 5 miles away. Check brake fuild which was almost completely empty. Bought a 32 oz bottle of brake fuild. Drive another 6 miles to work and the low brake fuild light came on. Poured the rest of the fuild to get to another autozone to buy another 2 bottles of fuild to get to a garage near my house. Used a total of 3 bottles and no sign of fuild leaking anywhere on my truck. The fuild could be leaking into the booter. As of right now waiting on my truck to be looked over for the issue of lost brake fuild at my local garage.
