While traveling at highway speed, while towing our RV, "low brake fluid" warning light came on and brakes failed. The only way I could safely stop was using the trailer brakes. I believe our vehicle should have been included in current recall, but Ford is stating our VIN is not part of recall.

Person was pulling away from curb when brakes failed. Brake pedal was pressed to the floor. He immediately slammed the truck into park and engaged the emergency brake. Upon looking, saw that there was no brake fluid. This happened on a residential street.
On the morning of July 18, 2016 I experienced compete and total brake failure on my 2014 Ford f150 truck. I had driven the truck the night before with no problems or warnings of any kind. I got into my truck, cranked it, and pressed on the brake pedal to shift into reverse. My brake pedal went all the way to the floor board with absolutely no resistance. I tried pressing it again with the same results. Just a few days before this, I had received a recall letter concerning breaking issues from Ford. However, in this letter it said that the issue would only affect the front brakes; the rear brakes would still be usable. I can assure you, this is not the case. I consider myself extremely blessed that I was not traveling at the time of the occurrence. There is no doubt that had I been driving at the time of the failure, it could have resulted in a fatal incident.
Complete brake failure! vehicle: 2014 f150 Ford ecoboost 4wd with 46,000 miles I drove from a parked position approximately 100' to a stop sign when the brakes failed completely. The brake pedal went to the floorboard with no braking and a warning appeared on the dash that the brake fluid is low. I went past the stop sign and through the intersection and stopped using the emergency brake. I received a recall notice (1ftfx1et9efa70048) in the mail the day this happened (7/18/2016). The recall came out two months earlier but this was the first notification by Ford. The recall states the brake failure may involve the front brakes and not the rear brakes which is totally false. In my case, both front and rear brakes were instantly non-existent. Additionally the recall stated that a low fluid alarm and audible signal would notify driver if fluid was low. This also is incorrect. Ford dealerships say they have no directive to perform the work and not parts have been provided so their hands are tied until further notice. Their estimate is that it will take one month to get the parts so my truck will be out of commission between one and three months. This failure could have easily been fatal if it happened in traffic or on a highway instead of on a lightly traveled side street with no traffic. This report might not be important to the NHTSA since no death or damage was involved but it could have resulted in such.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 45 mph, the brake pedal was depressed but failed to stop the vehicle. The contact had to pull the emergency brake in order for the vehicle to stop. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the brake booster failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v345000 (service brakes, hydraulic) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 27,000.
2014 Ford F-150. Consumer writes in regards to no parts available to repair brake system failure recall notice. The consumer stated when her husband applied the brake, it went right to the floor and the warning low brake fluid displayed on the dash. The consumer and her husband went next door to the dealer, to get the brake fluid re-filled. When her husband stepped on the brake the fluid was gone again. The vehicle didn't have any brakes. The vehicle was towed to where the vehicle was purchased from. There were no parts to fix the vehicle and no time frame, as to when the parts would be available. Unable to wait, for an extended period of time, they traded the vehicle for another Ford.
Brake fluid warning light came on. When I tried to stop, there was near complete brake failure. Pedal went to floor with only minor braking capacity. Had truck towed to Ford dealer. I had truck at my local dealer on 6/16/2016 and asked them to check the brakes because of the recall I had heard about. I was told there was not a fix for it as of yet. No mention was made of brake fluid being low at that time nor was there any mention that I may lose all braking.

An article in our local paper, from the associated press said your organization was investigating the problem with the Ford 2014,f-150,3. 5l engine, for brake failure. On inspection of my vehicle, there is a puddle 15"x5" of what I would guess is brake fluid that has leaked down the drivers side strut. I have called the dealer and he said ,"he hadn't heard of this problem. I plan to take the truck in very soon. Vehicle was stationary when observed above.
While driving truck and taking offramp to service road , pushed brakes and they were hard , no response . Got truck off the road without a collision , had truck towed to dealership and they replaced a vacuum pump on the brake system . Truck had 21,500 miles . 3 weeks later while driving on the highway again same thing happened . Had truck towed to the dealership where it is at now waiting for a diagnosis on repair . How can this be same for brakes to fail so often without a recall from Ford motor company ???.
Brakes suddenly failed on the highway, had the vehicle towed back to a Ford service center and it turned out that the brake booster component flooded with brake fluid which is a mayor failure and is never supposed to happen, even the service manager at sawgrass Ford agrees with that assessment. Doing some research online I found out this component has failed around the country and Ford has done nothing to improve the part's safety. I've already filed a complaint the state of florida attorney's office and now I'm doing the same with you. The sudden failure of this part represents a very grave safety situation as the brakes are without a warning completely disabled once it happens.
