1 Brake Drum Wheel Cylinder problem

Failure Date: 01/24/2021

There was a recall for the master brake cylinder and I brought the truck in to have the recall work done in October of 2020. The brake fluid low light is coming back on.

2 Brake Drum Wheel Cylinder problem

Failure Date: 08/10/2020

Brake pedal went all the way to the floor when depressed. Brakes did not engage. Low brake fluid alarm sounded. Upon slowing to a stop, the brake fluid reservoir was depleted but no fluid was evident on the ground. The brake fluid was replaced to specifications but was depleted again within a short period of time and brakes were not restored. Auto technician discovered master brake cylinder was leaking internally and brake booster was damaged. No previous issues with braking system were ever observed and driving conditions did not put excess wear on braking system. This issue is identical to issues described in Ford recall 20s31.

3 Brake Drum Wheel Cylinder problem

Failure Date: 07/19/2020

Ford has a known issue with the master brake cylinder failing in these trucks. Mine has clearly failed due to this issue, and my entire family was nearly killed on the interstate as a result. I took the truck to the dealership and they agree that this is the same master brake cylinder issue that Ford has acknowledged as a known issue. But magically my truck is not included as part of the recall even though its a 2016 Ford F-150 3. 5 ecoboost built in kansas city. All the parameters for the recall seem to match my vehicle precisely but yet somehow it magically is not included in the recall. Ford refuses to take accountability for this major safety issue and now I am out $500 out of my own pocket because Ford refuses to step up and take care of this known safety hazard for me. Ford should be ashamed of themselves and with how many new complaints I see filed here weekly for this same issue the NHTSA should also step up and force Ford to expand the recall because clearly not all affected vehicles have been recalled at this point. I cannot say it enough, this is a major safety concern. Me and my entire family were nearly killed as a result of this issue. It is appalling to me that Ford and the nhsta have not done more to rectify this very dangerous and deadly problem. Next steps I see in the near future is a class action lawsuit against Ford for ignoring this well known issue. This should have never happened and Ford should take accountability for this problem but they are refusing because it isn't part of the "recall". Shame on you Ford!.

4 Brake Drum Wheel Cylinder problem

Failure Date: 07/21/2019

While driving on a us highway at 65 mph, I had a need to suddenly apply the brakes on my 2016 Ford F-150 and there was a sudden failure. The brake pedal had to be depressed the entire distance to the floor to finally get the vehicle to decelerate. Afterwards a warnings light came on indicating low brake fluid. Despite adding fluid to the reservoir the brakes would still not engage. The vehicle had to be brought for service where it was determined that there had been a failure in the master brake cylinder. Fortunately this did not result in an accident or injury.

5 Brake Drum Wheel Cylinder problem

Failure Date: 06/21/2019

Tl the contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. While the vehicle was being serviced by antelope valley Ford (located at 1155 auto mall dr, lancaster, CA 93534, (888) 415-0959), the contact was informed that the brake booster, brake cylinder, and bushings needed to be replaced. The failure of the brake components rendered the brakes inoperable. In addition, the brake pedal extended to the floorboard. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 50,178.

6 Brake Drum Wheel Cylinder problem

Failure Date: 09/28/2017

While driving on rural maryland road, complete loss of brakes without warning other than "low brake fluid" warning less than two minutes beforehand. No accident, fortunately. I understand that this is a known issue and that Ford has not issued a recall for this extremely dangerous defect. Dealer has said that it will rebuild master brake cylinder and brake booster, using manufacturer original equipment but cannot state reason or cause for failure, nor provide any assurance that failure will not recur. Please compel a recall, if that is within NHTSA power.

7 Brake Drum Wheel Cylinder problem

Failure Date: 10/02/2016

My 2 month old Ford F-150 lost all brakes while coming back from a trip this past Sunday. The truck is at moyer Ford in foley al. There telling me that they can not repair it until mid February. I have filed a complaint with Ford case # cas10736186. I use my truck for work and can not be without a truck until late February. I am getting no responds on fixing the problem from Ford , moyer Ford were the truck is or world Ford of pensacola were I purchased the vehicle. Very disturbing that Ford knew the master brake cylinder was inferior when they built the vehicle. People are going to lose there life and kill others with this problem. This is criminal and Ford should be held accountable.

Failure Date: 09/27/2016

Driving in parking lot and it took longer than expected to stop. Then driving on road at 35-40 and went to stop as light turned yellow. Brake pedal went all the way to the floor. Went immediately to local Ford dealer (1/4 mile from the incident). Dealer says master brake cylinder failed and it will take 4-5 days for replacement part to come in.
