I have a 2002 f150 with about 90,000 miles on it. About three months ago the front end started shaking violently at about 45mph. It will not stop shaking untill you pretty much completely stop. Started out just doing it every now and then. Now I cant get over 45mph. This is very dangerous. I have taken it to 4 different front end shops and they all end up saying the same thing. Dont know what it is. . This obviously is a design flaw and seriously needs to be fixed.

I purchased a new 2008 special 60th edition Ford F-150 on 4may08. I noticed when the vehicle was above speeds of 55mph it started to vibrate in the frontend. I returned to the dealership to have them fix the problem, but they said the vehicle was sound and had no problems. I when to edmonds. Com and found out that there was a problem with the special 60th edition Ford f150 with the driveline, which may make the vehicle vibrate at speeds of 55 -60mph. What can I do if the dealership want fix the truck?.
Purchased a 2005 Ford f150 supercab truck on July 22, 2007 and have had to replace the tires 4 times within the last year due to rapid wear of the front tires. I have taken it to repair shops and had the front end and suspension check by 3 different tech's and they have all said that everything is to specs. What can I do to have this problem fixed.

My accident in a parking deck is on security recording at the beau rivage casino in biloxi, ms I think. Ford cannot explain why a wheel broke off at 8 mph. I caught an 18" h x 6" w x 24' l steel traffic control device with the outside edge of my front driver's side tire. I don't know how fast I was going but the tape does. I think it less than 10 mph. I am pretty sure I was braking when it happened. I was on a down ramp and there were other cars. I was taking care, but looking at another car pulling in next to me when the accident occurred. It's on tape. Anyway, my front wheel snapped off. Ford has a non explanation. They agree this is not supposed to happen under the conditions it did, and since it may have been taped. . . The beau won't give it up to me but maybe you. . . . Have given an alternative explanation that makes no sense. According to Ford, both astro Ford in d'iberville, ms and the mysterious adjuster (apparently he is not compuncted to state his findings, just judgment) who seemingly concurs with astro, there is a part missing that had to have been left out in one of two maintenance (brake and align) jobs, the most recent of which was more than 20000 miles ago. When asked if I could operate the truck with the part missing, they call it a key, the answer was a definitive and unanimous no. Would the tire wear funny? they say yes, and agree it is not. There is nothing, when you look closely at this truck, that would indicate any form of hard living. The spare tire is unused. The reason why I know 20000 since anything is because that's when the tire was mounted on the wheel that failed and other than washing it, that's the last attention that wheel had. I have that record. Neither the brakes or alignment were done since.
The contact owns a 2006 Ford F-150. While driving 70 mph, the contact drove over a series of bumps in the road and his vehicle began to jump and shake violently. As time progressed, he could drive 55 mph and ride over a pothole or even the slightest of bumps. As a result, the vehicle began to shake and vibrate similar to how a flat tire would feel. The dealer stated that he needed shocks and tires. After spending $1,600 dollars on what the dealer recommended, his vehicle is still vibrating and shaking uncontrollably. The current mileage is 41,132 and failure mileage was 10,000.
: the contact stated while traveling 15 mph, the front driver tire flipped sideways. The vehicle was towed to the dealership where the front end was rebuilt. The exact components replaced were unknown.

: the contact stated the front end vibrated at 45mph and above. The vehicle was taken to the local dealership for inspection numerous times. The dealer replaced the driveshaft, transmission mounts, cut the rotors and tightened the pinion in the rear end. Although these repairs were made, this did not remedy the problem.
Excessive tire wear on all four tires in a 9 month time span. Had dealership look at the truck and was told that the alignment was off and it wasn't up to them to take care of the alignment but was told to contact tire manufacturer. While talking to the manufacturer rep on the phone she advised that she had read memos from Ford about problems with the alignment specs on the vehicle. Ford continues to refuse any kind of warranty work.
Contact states at speeds of 65 mph, the steering wheel starts to shimmy back and forth. The vehicle has been to the service dealer 3 times. They replaced one tire and a steering wheel dampener. This did not remedy the problem. The service dealer said they would send an engineer to the dealership next week to inspect the vehicle. The service dealer emphasized that the problem poses no safety danger.
Vehicle seems to wander on its own every once in a while. . . At first I thought it could be the wind but after it first caught my attention I watched closer and it just sort of pulls at times to one side. . Don't think its the tires cause they were checked at a dealership not long ago. . This truck seems to have alot of problems. . Won't buy another one.
Front end of the vehicle started shook uncontrollably. Consumer was able to maintain control of the vehicle, and drove it to the dealer for inspection. Mechanic could not duplicate the problem.
While driving at any speed vehicle vibrated uncontrollably. Driver was able to maintain control of the vehicle, and drove it to the dealer for inspection. However, mechanic could not duplicate the problem. The consumer stated that the vehicle bucked and bounced for 7 miles on asphalt. Dealer checked the vehicle 5 times and the problem was not found.
While driving 40 mph, the vehicle vibrated uncontrollably. The driver was able to maintain control of the vehicle and drove it to the dealer for inspection. The mechanic informed the driver that all four times needed to be replaced and replaced it. However, the problem still occurs at this time. Please provide further details.
While driving 60 mph vibration came from the front end. Dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.
Front suspension vibrates violently enough that the windshield wipers come off the glass. Problem occurs at all speeds but is worse at about 40 mph. It last any where from one quarter of a mile to four miles and then stops. It comes and goes with no warning and there is no build up to the violent shakin. It stops as fast as it starts.
While driving front end vibrated heavily. Dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.
When backing out of the driveway at low speeds, the left side of the front end dropped.

Very noticeable steering wheel vibration at 65 mph & very bad steering wheel shimmy when bumps are encountered during every day driving. The tires feel like they lose contact with the road & feel very unstable.
I purchased my 2004 Ford F-150 lariat oct 2003. The front end and steering wheel vibrates at speeds of 68 to 72 mph. I have taken it back to the dealer on numerous occations, and the problem still exits. I have been told that(1)all trucks vibrate(2)after taking the truck they stated that there was nothing else they could do.
Consumer stated that while driving and without warning there would be a loud noise coming from the steering wheel. Dealer notified.
On, March 21, 2003 I purchased a new 2003 Ford F-150 XLT. We were driving back home from the dealership at 65 mph when we started down a small hill, the trucks front end started shaking and vibrating pretty bad, and didn't stop shaking and vibrating until I came to a stop. I pulled onto a side street and stopped. I looked for a problem and could see nothing wrong. Put the truck in drive and continued my way home, the problem had now stopped. On April 1, 2003 I was driving on the east-west expressway in orlando, at about 65 mph when I started down another small hill, the truck started shaking/vibrating violently, I pressed on the brake pedal and it only made it worse. I had to wrestle for control of the truck until I got it to the shoulder. Again the shaking/vibrating didn't stop until the truck came to a complete stop. . I'm very lucky the road wasn't wet, I'd have been dead for sure. Put the truck back in drive and the problem was gone again. My truck is now at rolling hills Ford service dept. In clermont florida. Dealer just called me back saying they cannot duplicate problem. Which means they didn't even look for the problem. I really don't want to risk serious injury or death until Ford can find the problem. Please help.

Due to front end misalignment front tires had worn out. When contacting dealer , dealer stated that it was a front end design defect, but were not willing to do anything.
Bearings in front of vehicle have been coming apart when consumer was driving. Consumer lost control. Contacted Ford motor company, and they were not willing to do anything. *akthe original and replacement parts have both failed. The wheel was on the verge of falling off.
Front end is not straight, grill and hood do not line up. Took to dealer, and they said that was how vehicle was designed.
Front end shakes and vibrates. Dealership is aware of problem.
I have a vibration at 45 miles an hour. It feels like the truck is woobling side to side. You must be at a constant speed. I can also feel a vibration at 65 to 70 miles an hour. Also at 70 when I hit a bump it feels like the truck keeps bouncing for a second after it hits. The dealer has balenced the tires 4 times and has changed the tires and rims also. The Ford rep said it is normal and is not a defect. I don't believe that trucks are designed to shake. Ford said they don't have to do anything more. (tiresize: 265/70r-17).
Although there was not an injury during this incident, we were very lucky. If we had been on the highway it could have been a much different situation. I have noticed on different web sites that I am not alone with this problem. I wonder if something is being done about it. No safety defec tmentioned.
