Truck will stall while towing when coming to a stop at exit. Will not restart easily. Put truck in park, crank till starts, rev engine and shift into drive and keep rpms up to drive away. Will happen again after stopping for gas. While towing , I will fuel at the half tank level. It happens a lot on hot days. Usually after about 2 hours + of driving . No codes thrown at any time. Dealer can not find issue. This has happened for 2 years.

Code p1450- fuel tank is unable to bleed up fuel tank vacuum, and this has nothing to do with the fuel pressure sensor at the engine. It is a defective fuel tank pressure. Due to this defect, the check engine light stays on and a piece now needs to be removed.

While driving in local shopping center between store #1 and store #2 approximately distance of 300 feet, the front of my gas tank fell to the pavement while the rear of the tank remained. I contacted the Ford roadside service which dispatched a tow vehicle the tow driver was able to raise the front enough to get my truck onto the tow truck. This incident happened at 5:15 pm on 12/21/2019 temperature at 70 degrees.

I purchased my 2015 f150 about a year ago. There is a TSB for a valve on the top of the gas tank. TSB states emission related with warranty covered. Ford stating it was built in canada so don't have to warranty in America. Vehicle cuts out after stopping and then accelerating. How can Ford sell a vehicle to be used in America with a known issue and not be liable? this is a safety concern. TSB 15-0171 engine code p2450. . Part number involved is same on canada or american vehicles.

The contact checked underneath the vehicle and found fuel on the ground. The vehicle was towed and the driver of the truck diagnosed that the fuel tank's plastic connector was unprotected, which caused the fuel tank plastic connector to fracture. The manufacturer was not notified. The vehicle was towed to an unknown dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 24,600.

I keep getting the check engine light p2450 which is an emission valve in the fuel tank. I take it in an all they do is reset the check engine light!.

Gas gauge suddenly doesn't register correctly. Only shows approximate three quarters tank when tank is fully filled. When registering one quarter tank only takes $15- to $16 to refuel. Repair shops have not been able to determine cause. What can be the cause.

I have a 2014 Ford F-150 motor 5. 0 I was stranded in the middle of the highway with all my family aboard in the middle of the night and 18 wheels speed close by my side . The truck just shut down on me without notice , on the dash it showed I still had 45 miles before empty and the light for the gas never went on . I called roadside assistance and they have to send a tow truck to pick us and left us at a dealer nearest to where the truck shut down . We did not have any idea if it need oil or gas my daughter drove about 4 1/2 hrs to get to us as we waited for at a 24 restaurant till she got to us we went back to the dealer to try to add gas to the truck and to our surprise the truck started on the first try . I heard there is a recall at this time on a Ford focus that so happened to have the same part & problem we encountered . Related with the gas tank.

Gas tank is leaking. Just read there was a recall on it.

When truck has 1/4 or less fuel in the fuel tank it stalls and there is lost power. Mostly happens when coming to a stop and when I make a turn after taking my foot from accelerator to brake . This is dangerous because all braking and steering is lost . While looking on the web there were many complaints about this .

Fuel flows out the front tank when using the rear tank and the front on is full !! found this when parked in my garage .

Vehicle only has 4,000 miles. Complete fuel line failed according to dealer and was dripping gasoline on exhaust from engine to tank. It was smoldering and almost ignited over the weekend. First noticed strong gasoline smell in cab. Inspection station noticed leak and was towed to dealer. They are special ordering parts. Our 2010 Ford F-150 platinum truck caught fire while my husband was driving he had to jump out of the car to survive. It looks like the gas tank caught on fire and the entire truck was engulfed in flames and completely burned up in a few seconds. I was on my way home smelled gas coming from the truck. I have duel tanks on my truck. I just filled the front tank, and only went 10 miles and notice the tank was on little over half full. So I switch to the back tank and it was way over full and gas coming out of the filler tube. I have owned this truck from new and have never received a notice to bring in the truck for problems with the tanks running over. Ford did put out a fix for this problem by adding outside check valves to the tanks f3ta-9j274-aa, I could have been burned or blown up and my family. Thank god I found the problem before that happened.

Was traveling up the roadway on 6/1/14 in our 2010 F-150 XLT and went to make a turn into an intersection. The vehicle stalled and was rendered useless in the middle of the intersection. The vehicle lost complete power, steering capability, and braking was diminished tremendously. We were stalled in an intersection with cross traffic approaching at 55mph. With little time due to oncoming vehicles, was able to immediately restart the engine and proceed, before oncoming vehicles approached us in the intersection. Not very safe being that my entire family was in the truck. Ford has issued a service bulletin about the issue with the vapor canister purge valve and its needing to be replaced. However, I believe this is a serious safety issue being that the vehicle stalls when reducing speed (such as turning into intersections with other oncoming traffic coming at you). There is no recall in lieu of this potentially dangerous situation they are causing. Additionally, this problem with the canister causes a tremendous vacuum on the fuel tank, so much that it damages internal components and has raised questions about whether it is affecting the stability of the actual tank itself. When you go to fuel the vehicle, there is so much of a vacuum that you hear it release the pressure when inserting the nozzle. Immediately after fueling, the vehicle will not start for several minutes. This issue needs to be corrected before someone is seriously injured or killed due to their vehicle sitting in the middle of a roadway and being hit by oncoming traffic.

I have noticed that a tar like substance was leaking from the rear of the truck along with a chemical odor. I took it to a local Ford dealer to have it inspected. They told me that the tar and odor was a result of leaking fuel coming in contact with the undercoating. I was told that it would cost $600. To repair the tank and that the tank was no longer made and they would use an after market tank. They told me that all these tanks leak and they suggested that I no longer use this tank. My question is, if all these tanks leak, why was there never a recall? what happens if someone gets rear ended?.
