Seven problems related to brake disc pads have been reported for the 1999 Ford F-250. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Brake rotors warped several times, turned, and replaced once. This last time brake pads were worn off and down to metal. Experience these issues each time I take a long trip of 1000 miles on the interstate. Driving at high speed for 3-4 hours before stopping and little or no braking during this period. This last time I had to pay for the turning of the rotors and brake kit. New kit has springs to help a problem per tech? this is a defective system!.
Ball joint is worn out, and at 20mph front and rear brake pads fell onto the ground. Cause unknown. Dealer notified.
The tires are dry rotting with32000miles the dome light stays on had to pull the bulb. The door lock nob on inside of door broke, the brake pad rubber on the pedal I had to replace the new one was worn out the brake pads on the front started squeaking at about 22000 miles the motor uses about one half quart of oil at each oil change and I take it to the dealer( dot number: ? tire size: lt235/85r1 ).
Rear brakes are not fully releasing, not binding and causing the pads to rub against each other and become very hot, causing a noise and more wear and tear on the discs. Manufacturer stated they are aware of the problem, but no solution.
Every 3,000 miles brakes will pulsate due to warping of the rotors, causing wear on brake pads and shoes.
Under warranty rotors machined and brake pads replaced. Second time, rotors machined and new Ford part number for pads replaced. Brake failure possibly responsible for accident with injury.
When brakes were depressed they didn't hold. The brake pads, where it clues to the metal, separated and damaged the caliper and skid disc. Dealership replaced parts, but problem recurred.
