1 Automatic Transmission problem

Failure Date: 10/07/2005

First, I love my truck, but if I didn't have an extended warranty, it be down the road. Items either repaired or replaced all before 47k miles (now has 49k miles as of 10/2005) with all work being done at my local Ford dealership: automatic transmission was replaced once, and again required repair for broken pump. Rear end completely replaced. Auto front locking hubs replaced twice. Rear driveline was replaced. Air box broken and replaced. "super duty diesel" implies a really tough truck, but I baby mine - is that what I'm done wrong?.

2 Automatic Transmission problem

Live on lake, driveway has a slope and put the vehicle in park and the cut switch off get out of the truck and the vehicle started rolling. Had to jump back in and mess with the gears in order to get the vehicle to stop.

4 Automatic Transmission problem

Failure Date: 05/16/2003

I have replaced the transmission 3 times since I bought the vehicle in March of 2000. Now it is out of warranty and needs another transmission the last transmission was put in(October 2002)they said they would warranty the transmission for one year but now they don't want to do it because it has an after market suspension lift and bigger tires (it's been on there since they put the first transmission in and they performed warranty work on it then).

6 Automatic Transmission problem

Failure Date: 04/16/2002

I was driving home on the interstate when traffic stopped ahead of me. It was raining pretty hard and I was not able to stop and I hit a minivan that was in front of me. (there were 40 - 50 other vehicles involved in this incident, but my piece of the greater wreck only involved myself and the minivan. ) I do not know how fast I was going when I made contact, but it was fast enough to cause $16,000 of damage to the front end of my truck. The impact mostly went above the bumper, pushing the grill into the front of the engine causing everyhing in front of the engine to be replaced along with replacement of the motor and transmission mounts. Neither the driver or passanger airbag deployed. I was wearing my seatbelt, so I was not at all injured, but I was very surprised that a significant inpact like I experienced did not set off the airbag. Are there any general guidelines for when the airbags should deploy?.

7 Automatic Transmission problem

There is a clucking noise when accelerating and deceleration. Ford claims it is normal noise, but are working on resolution.
