1 Power Steering Light On problem of the 2015 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 03/08/2021

When I hit a bump at highway speeds and the steering wheel is at a slight angle the vehicle starts shaking violently and is hard to control. Goes away after slowing down but nearly hit the vehicle next to me. Took it to a mechanic and he said this is a common problem and there's really no permanent fix to it. He replaced my steering damper but still does it.

2 Power Steering Light On problem of the 2017 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 12/04/2020

Death wobble, truck violently shakes and I loose control of steering at all speeds especially at 50 mph or more. I can correct if I turn steering wheel slightly however this is very dangerous on the highway.

3 Power Steering Light On problem of the 2013 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 10/10/2020

2013 F-250 platinum super duty power stroke truck started bumping and vibration in the front end and steering at 65mph after slight bounce on a road transition from road to bridge. Vibration increased until truck was put into neutral and allowed to slow down. Once under 50 mph truck regained stability.

4 Power Steering Light On problem of the 2019 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 09/25/2019

Steering has been slightly shaky over bumps at normal highway speed. Recently truck has began death wobble (steering oscillation) when hitting potholes, bridge joints, and road construction transitions. Today in traffic at 50-55 mph, it was severe enough that it almost caused an accident. High traffic area and braking was slow due to traction loss during oscillation.

5 Power Steering Light On problem of the 2012 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 07/28/2014

Clear and dry road conditions. Factory truck. Driving at 65 mph with steering wheel slightly turned to the left, the road made a transition from concrete to asphalt with a slight rise in road surface and the commonly worded "death wobble" took over violently and rapidly pulling my steering wheel back and forth until I eventually brought the vehicle to a stop as it the truck took itself into the median. Under nearly the exact same conditions around 100 miles later also ending with the vehicle in the median.

6 Power Steering Light On problem of the 2006 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 03/17/2010

When driving highway speeds I never know when the front end is going to violently shake so bad that I can't see out the rear view mirrors to even know who is around me when my truck is completely out of control. I can't believe someone has not died yet! it's not if, but when. A joint in the road, pot hole, or just a pavement irregularity causes it, but I never know when. I've asked service and sales techs at both phil long Ford/littleton, CO and lakewood Ford/lakewood, CO and received the same line of crap, that I'm the first person who ever mentioned it. Check my tire pressure is what I'm told. All I had to do was google the problem and I found a seemingly endless list of complaints of the exact same problem. This site was already aware of the problem because when I went to select the "failed components", steering was already highlighted. This is a $50,000 truck I'm afraid to do the speed limit in. Loaded or unloaded, pulling a trailer or not, the problem can present itself. How many complaints or deaths does it take before Ford is held responsible for this defect?.
