1 Steering Is Tight problem of the 2019 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 11/13/2020

My wife and I were driving on interstate 70 cruising along 70 mph. When I crossed over a bridge abutment the truck began shaking vigorously and the steering wheel was hard to control. I was not able to regain control of the vehicle until I got over on the shoulder and reduced speed to around 25 mph. This is a serious issue that needs to be addressed and not covered up. Would not be good if I had my fifth wheel camper behind me with my two kids in the vehicle. The truck only has 14,000 miles on it!.

2 Steering Is Tight problem of the 2019 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 08/30/2020

While passing another vehicle, I hit an bumpy surface when the front end of the truck began to shake violently. This shaking transferred to the steering wheel and it was extremely hard to control. I was able to slow the truck down and get off the road the shaking stopped. It was an extremely scary situation to have my wife and kids with me. Research leads me to believe it was the death wobble like many others with the same type truck have experienced.

3 Steering Is Tight problem of the 2017 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 11/01/2019

Loss of control at speeds greater than 50 mph after running over a pothole or rough road surface. The front tires start to bounce or oscillate and steering becomes dangerously erratic. You have to immediately hit the brakes hard to lower the speed. Everything loose in the cabin can begins moving around and the steering wheel is hard to hold. If you are in heavy traffic at speeds of 60-70 mph there is very real danger of being hit from behind while trying to regain control of the vehicle. Descriptions online of Ford f250 trucks call it the death-wobble.

Failure Date: 10/19/2019

I drive a 2011 Ford f250sd,while driving 65-70mph on freeway, drove over rough patch and the truck started to shake very violently, steering was extremly hard tl control, "deathwobblel "is what it is called ,wouldn't stop shaking asuntill slamming on the brakes and slowing down to about 30 mph. This has happend to me in my1989 f250 with over 250000 miles on it but this truck has only 63765 miles . First time this occurred was about 3 weeks ago and last nite it happened 3 time in a span of less then 10 miles very unsafe hope Ford come up with a fix because seems to me there is more then few people with the issue.

5 Steering Is Tight problem of the 2017 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 02/12/2018

While driving at normal highway speeds on an interstate highway, I hit a minor bump in the road and the vehicle started vibrating radically. The steering wheel was extremely hard to control from the front end bouncing. I had to brake rapidly and pull to shoulder under pretty crowded traffic conditions and it didn't stop until almost completely stopped. It did this numerous times on a out of town trip and I took it to my dealer immediately on my return. The date entered is the first time this occurred. It has happened numerous times since then & has been back to dealer 3 times for this. It is at the dealer now.

7 Steering Is Tight problem of the 2008 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 07/15/2013

I bought a set of wheel and tires a year ago, they are stock size. The day the tires and wheels were put on my truck the steering was tight and would not straighten back out without resistance in the steering wheel. I went to the tire place and they advised me that it was a bad steering gear. I took the truck to my local Ford dealership and was advised I had a bad steering gear. They also said that the steering gear was on back order and they didn't know when they could get one. But nothing about an investigation. My hope is that someone doesn't have to die before the steering gear is recalled.
