Four problems related to steering wheel have been reported for the 2000 Ford F-350. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Whenever pressing hard on brakes steering wheel would not turn. Also, when car is running, and air conditioning is on with vents open, it lets out a smell of diesel fuel.
Consumer has experienced problems with the steering, at times the wheel shakes really bad, steering wheel has also locked up when riding over bumps, dealer apllied a steering damper kit to eliminate the shaking of the steering wheel, after the repair the problem still exists, consumer states that the damper kit is causing the tires to wear.
When driver had foot on brake, steering wheel would not turn and locked up. Dealership was notified about problem. Ford engineers were contacted by the dealership. Ford engineers stated that this was a design problem, and would take a year to correct.
While braking steering system malfunctioned, causing loss of vehicle control. Please provide further information.
