The fuel filter housing cracked and started pouring diesel out the top and back of the engine. No warning lights going to dealer for replacement. This can be very dangerous for vehicle occupants and another motorist.

The cp4 fuel pump failed causing the entire fuel system to be replaced. It is the same pump that is covered in the recall for 2020-2024 6. 7 engines.

Unknown component that failed. Suspicion, the fuel system located at the back of the fire wall on drivers side. The fire started in that location and was extremely hot and fast moving. The truck was fully engulfed within 1. 5 minutes then burnt the attached 5th wheel trailer and contents. It was a total loss of 3 vehicles 2018 Ford f350, 2021 dutchman voltage 5th wheel trailer, and a 2013 polaris rzr side by side utv. All was reduced to rubble within 15 min. Our safety and lives were at risk, we had 30-45 seconds from smelling and seeing smoke to flames. We were traveling on interstate 15 at highway speeds and had to stop as safe as possible on the shoulder of the road. The vehicle has not been inspected as far as I know, the frame is all what is left. There were no warning lights and all gauges read normal,.

After the truck had been sitting in the driveway for a couple days I noticed a wet spot underneath the truck, I looked under the truck and noticed there was diesel on the fuel line and the top of the fuel tank was wet with diesel fuel.

Ford sent me a recall for my 2020 f350 powerstroke saying they are trying to come up with a computer programming to fix faulty fuel pump in my truck which could lead to loss of power and crashing especially while pulling heavy loads. This is a mechanical issue. It has nothing to do with a software update which they claim they do not have but will try to get. There is no fix for this at the time. There actually is a fix. S&s makes a dcr fuel pump specifically to replace these fuel pumps because these fuel pumps can blow up and ruin the entire vehicle as the vehicles with these fuel pumps are extremely expensive. . The maker of this dcr pump for a 2020 f350 6. 7 l powerstroke diesel has found the mechanical problem internal to the existing fuel pumps engineering and has designed a new one. I'm sure Ford can pay for these to be put in their vehicles or design one that is similar but these are already being made, sold and installed. Ford says they do not have a remedy for this at this time but there is one and it is this dcr pump. I saved my entire life and have people working in this truck in my family in this truck since couldn't be a serious safety issue and potentially cause death. I think Ford should be having these aftermarket units put in free of charge as all safety recalls are installed free of charge. Anyways, I wanted to write to see if this would be possible or if Ford can be pushed into doing the right thing and installing these in their vehicle. They are about $2,000 and probably around $1,000 to install, but you're talking about losing a $ $70 to $100,000 vehicle and a life. I think it's worth it.

Ford issued recall 24s78 in December of 2024. This recall addresses a known safety issue with the fuel system. It's nearly six months later, and the solution for the recall is still not available. I'm concerned that my 2020 Ford super duty is unsafe to drive, especially when towing a heavy load. Can you please force them to resolve this important safety recall?.

At this point, nothing has happened. This is a fuel pump, bio-diesel issue that can cause a lack of power which is a safety risk. This recall has been active for 7 months with no remedy listed, but according to Ford motor company will require a software update? the remedy is replacing the fuel pump with a dcr valve. Waiting for the truck to breakdown and potentially leading to loss of life should not be acceptable. They know about the issue, they say no remedy, yet they are continuing to manufacture these vehicles. Are they manufacturing new vehicles with a known safety risk or did they fix the problem on newer model vehicles and just stonewalling current owners?.

The cp4 fuel pump sent metal shavings into the fuel injectors and the engine quit. No warning light came on at all. The entire fuel system had to be rebuilt. [xxx] my 2019 Ford f350 extended cab 4x4 6. 7 diesel engine caught fire while I was driving on [xxx] I was pulling a small gooseneck horse trailer with 2 live horses inside. I was traveling at 60mph. No modifications to the truck, everything stock. A car pulled along side me pointing to the front of the truck yelling your on fire. Immediately got off on an exit ramp, the truck engine died and I lost all power . I tried to put it in park nothing happened. The truck and trailer started to roll backwards off an embankment. I got the emergency brake on. My wife and I exited the truck the whole front end was on fire 50 ft + flames . We got the horses out and away . According to parkhills mo. Fire dept truck burned to the ground in less than 15 minutes. They stated it was a fuel fed fire. All the fire crew and responding police officers stated it was a common occurrence for that model Ford to catch fire . This truck had 19,967 miles no modifications. No warnings ,no fuel smells . Nothing to indicate any problems. Truck went from running perfect to burned up in less than 15 minutes. Total loss of the truck along with all my personal belongings. I have sent in a previous complaint as our truck would die in the middle of the road, due to the fuel pump. It is unacceptable that Ford has not resolved the recall issue in 9 months. Our truck is needed daily for our business. Please make Ford take action.

Failed cp4 design. $10000 to fix a known issue with a failed design that gm had a class action lawsuit with.

Engine is the 2. 7 ecoboost and is becoming louder and louder with many ticks and sounds whether you are driving or idling the vehicle at a stop light. Every morning the engine ticks and revs very high and emits huge billowing white smoke from the exhaust whether it’s warm or cold outside. Believe the engine is needing to be replaced in the upcoming recall from Ford for the exact engine.

I have 2100 miles on 2023 f350 6. 7l high output and saw as I was walking up to it a puddle of diesel on the ground. I know fuel leaks are dangerous and can cause fires so I’m not going to try it until I can get it in for service. I will be scheduling an appt tomorrow to get the problem fixed. I haven’t yet had the vehicle inspected. I had no check engine lights on or nothing showing there was a problem until I smelled diesel.

The fuel pump failed causing the truck to lose power and ultimately shutdown while driving down the interstate. No warning messages received. Our safety was put at risk because the vehicle completely shut down causing us to almost get rear ended on the interstate this problem has been confirmed not only in our vehicle but thousands of other vehicles of the same year, make, and model.

Sudden loss of acceleration at highway speed. Engine sputtered and died as I coasted to a stop on a two lane bridge. Very dangerous location. Was able to restart engine. Ford dealer at next exit. Checked out and no codes thrown. Advised to keep driving until recurrence. Took to hometown Ford dealership and after three days reported no codes, no recurrence, and no problems detected. Diesel coming from upper fuel conditioning module. Large amount, top appears to be broken.

Truck showed alert of decreased power twice withing a month. When taken into Ford they sated the fuel pressure pump and fuel rail were damaged due to pump sending metal shaving throughout the fuel system. I have found out through research that this is a common occurrence due to a faulty pump that was originally installed in the trucks around these dates. No recall or alert has been given to owner buying these vehicles and now requires a very expensive repair to correct (with a whole different type of pump) and avoid future issues.

We were leaving kerrville TX around 12:00pm may 22 2024 on our way to colorado for a fishing trip. We got to colorado city TX 3:45pm to refuel and grab a late lunch, we left at 4:30pm. We went through snyder and post TX and approximately 5:45pm 1. 2 miles southeast of southland TX, I had a warning come up on the dash saying low fuel pressure and reduced engine power and had smoke coming in then I pulled over ASAP and upon opening my door flames hit my leg and even more smoke began to fill the cab rapidly. We were fighting for our life’s. You could see fuel dripping/ flowing driver side under hood, location secondary fuel filter you can even see a trail on the pavement. I knew I had to move quickly and grabbed my 2 fire extinguishers and put to use and after I started throwing all combustibles and as many tools used on the ranch away from the vehicle. 6 great samaritans helped with 7 fire extinguisher as we made time to be able to separate truck and trailer by pulling the trailer from the back. But with 8-9 fire extinguishers did not put it out which is a serious problem, I now unfortunately know the taste of fire extinguishers and vehicle smoke. I got all combustibles and the trailer separated and I knew the truck was gone and I needed to get away, it seemed something was fueling it! it all happened so quickly. 84 north and south was closed. The first firetruck with water showed up at 6:07pm and the cab of the truck had completely melted away. A great samaritan offered to haul the saved trailer to an RV park. I thanked the great samaritans, firefighters and sheriff for the help with the unbelievable shocking event that had just happened. 7:05 we were in route to the RV park as the sheriff cleared me to go. Now I have been dealing with smoke inhalation. I have never seen such an intense fire and it had me fight or flight mode. Truck had been maintained to the up most. This was a very traumatic event and has affected my breathing, sleep, ptsd and my confidence to drive.

This vehicle has horrible throttle response. When I take off normally then let off the gas then try and accelerate, there is a 2-3 second lag in acceleration. It’s dangerous because I’ve had times where I can’t get out of the way of oncoming traffic. Not all of these trucks have this and I want Ford to rectify this for safety’s sake.

The fuel injection system is the same as Dodge and Chevrolet. I own a 2014 f350 with a 6. 7 diesel. My truck has been broken down for 6 months, after catastrophic failure in the road due to cp4 fuel injection pump. I continue to look for recalls only to find Dodge and Chevrolet who use same injection pump.

The Fords have two issues with the fuel system. The cp4 fuel pumps have a common failure imploding and sending metal through the fuel system, a costly repair over $12,000. The second extremely dangerous failure on the fuel filter housing. It cracks spraying fuel into the engine compartment. If not shut off immediately a fire engulfs the car. Both are extremely common, a safety hazard and expensive repair that Ford should fix immediately.

I spoke with Ford about the service bulletin for the egr cooler that expired in April 2023. They said because of the low mileage, to contact you to see if the recall, (21m04), could be added back to this vehicle for repairs.

The fuel pump failed and self destructed internal parts of the pump in turn putting metal into the fuel lines resulting in a $15,000 repair bill. The vehicle is available for inspection and has not been repaired. This occurred in November 2024 and has not been driven since due to the costly repair bill. The problem has been confirmed by the dealership and independent service center. The only indication of the issue was when the check engine light illuminated. No other preemptive warning.

2017 Ford f350 superduty 6. 7l diesel will intermittently surge/buck while towing uphill under load causing loss of power and creating unsafe driving situation. When it happens I’ve also observed electrical power loss to obd-ii port where I have accessory guage installed to monitor critical truck systems like oil temp, trans temp, coolant temp, etc. . No dtc or fault codes are generated when this happens. I haven’t taken to dealer yet but I’ve researched and read lots of truck forums where multiple Ford owners have had the same issue. When they’ve taken their truck to the dealer they’ve been told this is “normal”. I don’t agree and believe this is a serious safety issue to a consumer that suddenly loses all power and must let off all acceleration while other cars are following/around vehicle when vehicle surges. This has now happened four different times and various speeds (30-60 mph).

Component; fuel filter component available; yes safety; fuel leak on engine ( fire risk ) reproduced; no inspected; no warnings; smell of fuel/fuel on ground and water.

Truck refuses to regen. Find a service bulletin for known maf problems on the 6. 7 engines. This issues cause truck to go into limp mode and can shut truck off with little to no notice. Leaving people stuck possibly in the middle of the road. Cost over $1100 to fix. How is there no recall or even warning to owners that this may be an issue? just a technical service bulletin for service departments at Ford….

The owners manual states I have a tank capacity of 36 gallons. On e I can only fit about 26 gallons. If I were to take my average mpg and use the advertised 36 gallons to figure out how far I would run out of fuel and this would cause the vehicle to stall while driving. Ford is aware of this issue and knows how to fix it but declined to take care of the safety repair.

Fuel filter failed and is available for inspection: driving back from gloucester MA to cohoes NY, pulled into charlton MA rest stop on i90 parking in truck area fueling lot noticed fluids leaking from engine compartment, upon further inspection found fuel filter spraying diesel fuel all over engine compartment and components. My life, my passengers and surrounding personnel may have been injured or killed if went un noticed for too long while parking next to fuel pumps when engine was running or driving along I 90. There were no warning lights indicating loss of fuel pressure or any sort of engine light on. Luckily I noticed it before it could get out of hand and happened during a week day during business hours a local Ford dealer, ida Ford in auburn MA had a fuel filter kit in stock: they also stated they just had another customer a few days earlier with the same issue. Had to uber to and from dealer to get parts to repair. Poured water on engine to break down diesel fuel over engine to drive back to NY and not cause a fire. Looking online for a recall and don’t see my year of vehicle but just 2021????.

Fuel filter and is available for inspection-driving back to cohoes NY from gloucester MA pulled into charlton MA rest stop to use the restrooms, while getting ready to leave started vehicle and got out waiting for passengers noticed fluids leaking from engine compartment, while inspecting found it was diesel fuel and spraying out of fuel filter on top of engine block. Then noticed a trail of diesel fuel from my path going into rest stop. I parked next to the fuel pumps if that had ignited my life, my passenger and the people in the rest stop life would’ve been endangered. Luckily I caught it before anything happened. I was able to reach a local Ford dealer for parts and uber to and from and repaired. Pouring water over engine to dilute remaining fuel over engine. No warning or engine light came on warning of loss of fuel pressure.

Emissions control system has "failed" 5 times. Check engine light illuminated. Each time: p0420 dtc code: "catalyst system efficiency below threshold (bank 1). Manufacturer is unable to fix. Vehicle will go into "limp mode" stranding owners/passengers.
