3 Transmission Gear Slipping problem

Failure Date: 07/24/2016

Transmission constantly slips. Transmission surges and stalls daily. The transmission actually completely went out 2 days after purchase and was replaced - the transmission never worked properly. This car was in for service on 4 occasions and left service with the same or worse symptoms. Earnhardt Ford in chandler, az stated it was fixed each time and pretended they did not feel the slips, surges and stalls when test drove with me after service each time. I was told there was nothing more they were going to do. **I do not have service dates with me at this time - the date in "when did this happen" is a guesstimate of the time around servicing.

5 Transmission Gear Slipping problem

Failure Date: 12/12/2014

Automatic transmission slips and does not shift smoothly. The Ford dealership has worked on it twice without repairing it. It is in for a third time and the plan is to replace the same part they replaced last time. The problem began at 10,000 miles and reoccurs every 10,000 miles. Though the car remains under warranty, this is a dangerous situations that needs to be corrected by Ford immediately before some one gets killed.

6 Transmission Gear Slipping problem

Failure Date: 07/13/2014

I have had my car in numerous times to the dealer with problems with the transmission. Finally in may of 2014 I had the clutch replaced. The car was about 75% better, not perfect but better. Today the transmission is slipping and shifting through various gears randomly. It has no acceleration power from a stop. I am afraid to drive the car. The car is very dangerous to drive and they need to recall these cars.

8 Transmission Gear Slipping problem

Failure Date: 10/03/2013

I purchased my 2013 Ford Fiesta from a dealership in may of 2013, in October of 2013, my not even 6 month old car, started to make grinding and crunching noises in the engine and the transmission was slipping. I called the dealership and took it in. They replaced the transmission and after 8 weeks, I picked it up. The noises were gone, but quickly came back a couple months later, I kept getting told it was normal, but it has gotten worse. I am trying to work with my dealership now to quickly get this resolved. I am also only getting 25 mpg.

9 Transmission Gear Slipping problem

Failure Date: 08/22/2013

Transmission slips, chugs, grinds, hesitates, jerks, fails to accelerate and bogs out each time before slamming into gear, jerking the car forward quickly, then fails to decelerate when engaging the breaks causing very near rear end wrecks. On highway at 55-65 mph, car is unable to down shift properly. The vehicle has been brought to the dealership times cleaned and replace clutch or programmed. Still not shifting properly.

12 Transmission Gear Slipping problem

Failure Date: 06/03/2013

Transmission slips, chugs, grinds, hesitates, jerks, fails to accelerate and bogs out each time before slamming into gear, jerking the car forward quickly, then fails to decelerate when engaging the breaks causing very near rear end wrecks. On highway at 55-65 mph, car is unable to down shift properly. The vehicle has been brought to the dealership 5 times and I'm told it's how I'm driving the vehicle, nothing is wrong. After 5 visits, Ford dealerships will not see the vehicle. Simply telling me "if I don't like it, trade it in". The car is worthless, and therefore "trading it in" would be throwing more money away.

13 Transmission Gear Slipping problem

Failure Date: 04/21/2013

I'm writing about our 6 month old 2013 Fiesta, 11,000 miles. I love it except the 6 speed automatic transmission. Most of the time the shifting is smooth, but there are periods of time, say a day or two, that it shudders going into first gear, then second. The other day I was starting up a gravel driveway (uphill), and the transmission finally engaged right about halfway up the driveway, and I almost ran into the house I was visiting because of the surprise. It's almost as if the transmission is slipping. To me, this is a safety issue. Both my wife and I feel very uneasy about this and don't think it should be called normal. We had the 10,000 mile inspection, complained about it then, but they didn't find any problem - but then again, it was Saturday afternoon. An analogy to this is an athlete getting ready to run at the start line. If he stumbles, he may trip and fall, and for sure will not do well in the competition.
