Transmission shudders, stalls, eractic starts, excessive transmission noise and stalls out with rpms going to over 5 while the car stalls. When stall happens it takes about 40 second to re engage then that a hard shift. This car should have a recall on the transmission. Also the dealer and Ford both knew of this problem and neither advise me of it . If I had know of this problem I would not have purchased this car. In less than one year Ford has replaced the clutch twice and it is in need of a thrird repair.

Excessive transmission clutch shudder during light acceleration. Car will sometimes slip and cause car to abruptly slow down while taking off from traffic light. In emergency situation where car will need to back up transmission will slip forcing car to be unable to reverse.

Transmission shudders, rather violently, between 1-2, and 2-3 shifts. Recently the transmission has shifted into neutral at two very inopportune and frightening times, once on the 202 freeway in mesa, az and the other in a 3 way intersection attempting to make a left turn. The vehicle has become unsafe because of the random transmission shifts, whereas the shuddering was just a very irksome annoyance. Ford needs to replace these transmissions. It's ridiculous for a person to own a car less than 3 or 4 years old and have these kinds of unsafe issues.

The transmission shudders and slips violently under 10 mph and between gears. This is a major safety concern and Ford has not repaired my car. My car can easily get rear-ended if this is not fixed and I am not able to accelerate. Please contact me and help Ford recall and replace all transmissions for the Ford Fiesta.

This is follow-up to incident #10639225 (26sep2015), and details continued trouble from initial complaint. The vehicle has returned to the shop four times (currently in shop) for power-shift transmission clutch shudder. Two of the four found shudder TSB logging 150-170 rpm loss between shifts (Ford claims acceptable?), one found/replaced leaking cv shaft seal, and fourth currently being diagnosed. On the third incident (one listed above), dealership found shudder and 170 rpm loss (stated on invoice they drove vehicle), but invoice shows zero miles driven in-shop? my first question is this. . . Why is any rpm loss (above 100 rpm's) acceptable for a computer controlled automatic transmission?? second. . . Under normal driving conditions (which this car is driven) why are there cv issues??? Ford has multiple TSB's and fsa's surrounding this transmission yet NHTSA does nothing about it! this transmission (with all of the NHTSA complaints against) clearly is a design flaw and a safety risk!! I request feedback on this issue. Thank you!.

3/27/15 I only had my car for a year(the problem started from the first week of purchase I called they try to brain watch me stating the car was built that way). And I'm in the process of taking my car back in for service. I just took it in a week ago for the same concern. The vehicle hesitates severely gears and transmission shudders. This is a safety hazard when in traffic the transmission will stall and pull. I'm in danger of any normal speed car hitting me from behind. Ford dealer wants to put me in a waiting list for a clutch and transmission issue. Ford should be more concern for their consumers!!!! but for the look of it they do not care!!! I'm fear for my safety. They refuse to get me into a new car or even loan me a car. (this is Ford in the san fernando valley) this car should not be on the road it is a hazard for the rest of the drivers as-well.

Extreme transmission shudder. Jolting, jerking, shuddering, shaking, stalling. Had "dual clutch" replaced 3 times thus far. Requested a buyback, buyback denied. Had a couple more repair attempts and now the can't isn't running fully - sent it certified letter from a lawyer and trying to go through the buy back process again before going to court. Had 3 near accidents. This car is a lemon and extremely unsafe.

Delivered on 7/8/13 dealer: jersey city Ford. Dear Ford, we are upset over the repeated problems with our 2013 Ford Fiesta, brand new on 7/18/2013. The car has been bucking, grinding and almost stalling. When we called to complain or ask questions we were told that this was normal. The next call and visit for repair we were told it was the new transmission/ power shift on the Fiestas & focus. Also informed there was an "open recall" on a part that is involved in the clutch of these new vehicles. They say it sounds/drives and feels like a manual transmission but its good on gas. Well, the problem with this is, we turned in a 2011 Ford focus se with this same transmission that is in the 2013 cars and no way did we have these problems. Here are the following times we went to jc Ford repair: oct 18, 2013 - same day states problem with transmission. May 2, 2014 - oil change, complained about transmission but not on documents. May 21, 2014 - left car for a reboot of electronics on the car and picked the vehicle up on may 23, 2014. They ordered part due to "hesitation and shutter" in transmission (they said it was the clutch; open recall on a part). May 28, 2014 left vehicle at Ford for replacement of parts and reboot of electronics, picked vehicle up on June 4, 2014. When we picked up the car on June 4th, 2014, my wife pulled out of the garage and went 3 blocks and turned back to the Ford garage. Vinnie, the repair section manager called the mechanic that did the repair and had him take a test drive with her. The car sounded and ran worse than when we brought it in and had a new sound, the front end or wheels were making noise, breaks were shaky and the same transmission problem sound was still there.

Transmission started shuddering shifting into 2nd gear. I believe it is also doing the samething going into 4th gear. Uphill sometimes it can't get out of it's own way. Had no problems until now. Car was fun to drive and getting 40mpg. Taking it to dealer tomorrow. We'll see.

I own a 2013 Ford Fiesta. We bought it new off the lot. A month after purchase the vehicle's transmission started to sputter and fail to shift into gear. Several times it was a little nerve racking and unsafe because the vehicle would fail to accelerate in a timely manner. This is a big problem when you try to merge with traffic or pass another vehicle, or even travel through an intersection. We have taken the vehicle to Ford 4 different times to get fixed and nothing seems to work, it just gets worse. Now the vehicle shakes when the transmission tries to shift, my wife had to pull over and stop on the freeway because the vehicle would not shift into a gear. She almost got hit by another vehicle.

I bought a 2013 Ford Fiesta in October of 2012 and I have 13000 miles on it and today 4-17-13 is the 3rd time I?ve dropped the car off at the dealer ship to have the transmission worked on. The first time the dealership rebuilt the transmission, the 2nd time they said they couldn?t find anything and I am waiting to hear from the shop to see what they say today. My transmission has a grinding sound, when I push the accelerator it sometimes doesn?t engage and drive forward until I let my foot off and then repress the accelerator. When sitting in rush hour traffic it will lunge forward. I am not happy with the time I?ve spent or having to do this many trips to the dealership to have a brand new car fixed. They need to do something about this. How can this many people be unhappy and nobody does anything to make Ford recall their transmissions.

18 Transmission Shudder problem

Transmission started grinding while trying to accelerate from sitting idle. Brakes locked up 3 different times while I had my foot on the brake. The transmission revs very high with any street that is not completely flat. When I sit at a stop light it will roll backward when I try to go. It is an automatic transmission.
