I had to have the transmission replaced after owning the car a few months. At only 30k miles. Thank god it was still under warranty. However, since then, the car has continued to malfunction. I have not taken it into a dealer since because of the other comments and complaints I have seen regarding this car. The car continues to jerk forward when moving from a stop. The car constantly shudders when driving. The car hesitates when accelerating. I even had to pull the fuse out for the radio because the speakers would constantly pop, even with the radio off. I truly believe there is an issue even with new transmissions in this car. If the transmission is replaced, the same problems should not continue. I do not have the time nor the money to keep fixing something that is not fixable. I will continue to drive a car that I feel unsafe in until I cannot anymore. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. On the "when did this happen" field, I put today's date because it happens every day.
The transmission shifts unevenly in lower gears and causes the car to shudder with slowed acceleration, this happens every use. Sometimes, the car will not accelerate and it slips into neutral while driving, upon pressing the gas pedal the engine revs but the car will not move. This can happen at anytime without warning. The only way to correct this is to put the car in park and restart the engine. I brought this to the attention of a local Ford dealership, they performed maintenance to the transmission, but this did not remedy the problem.
Tl-the contact owns 2013 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated that while driving at 25 mph, the vehicle shuddered, and jerk as the gear shifted to 1st causing the vehicle to seize. All warning light illuminated. The contact turned the vehicle off back on and the vehicle resume back to normal after 30 min. The vehicle then was taken to the dealer metro Ford 2860 s noland rd, independence, mo 64055 however the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The contact mentioned that the transmission was replaced. The vehicle was not driveble. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that his warranties expired. The failure mileage was 30,211. Ck.
I have a 2013 Ford Fiesta se and my car will not gain speed due to the clutch also the car shutters and shakes a lot taking off, turning or moving from a stop light. This is unsafe because I cannot gain speed enough or go fast enough to get out of someones way or for me to get on the high way. Which can cause an accident and almost has which is very unsafe for me and other drivers on the road. My rpms go up to at least 4 or 5 because my car will not shift and the lose of power is so bad this happens again almost each time I move from a stop light and I take off to go up a hill. It takes me longer to move causing people to almost hit me from behind several times. This has taken place sense I got the car in February of 2017 and it has continued to happen.
This is at least the 3rd time the vehicle has been into the dealer for transmission issues. I have addressed the issue with beyer Ford as well as the Ford dealer near my parent¿s house in PA where I often travel. The clutch was replaced last year. Ford tells me that the symptoms are ¿normal¿ and with in the correct range but this is a serious concern. For awhile now, the car continues to jerk, shudder, and sputter through gears after a stop. Car noticeably vibrates and there are loud, rattling and grinding noises associated with the issue especially at low speeds. This is especially an issue on hills. The car hesitates to pick up speed and seems to ¿catch¿ for a few seconds and then I get jerked back as the car tries to move forward. Some days the car runs smoother than others but there is no rhyme or reason and more often than not there are major issues. Temperature does not seem to make a difference-it¿s actually more noticeable once the car has been warmed up and has been on the road for awhile. Additionally, the car would not start over the weekend. The battery was fine and the starter turned but the engine would not fire. Eventually the car did start, but the shaking and grinding was even more noticeable than usual.
70,000 miles currently, 2013 Ford fiesa sfe with 6 speed power shift automatic trans. The transmission on this car is a flawed design. Since I've had this car, there is excessive clutch shudder when the car shifts from first to second and from second to third. It also sounds like there are loose marbles in the transmission. I had the TSB/recall performed in April of 2015 but that didn't help. The car was at the dealer for 2 weeks while the transmission was opened up and parts were replaced. To be honest, it's now worse than ever. Unless I'm driving at highway speeds, the car is a nightmare to drive.
My 2013 Ford Fiesta only has 33,000 and is having transmission problems. The car shudders and stalls when first pulling out. This makes driving very dangerous. There is no way a vehicle with this amount of miles should be having this type of problems.
The car jerks, grinds and shakes as the car starts to pick up speed. What happens all the time.
The car shudders and spits at take off. Sometimes stalls both in forward and reverse when I first give it gas.
Car shakes and shudders when accelerates. At times it jerks and hesitates when stopped. When moving forward sounds like gears grinding , it is automatic. I have taken it 4 times to Ford in cocoa florida where I bought it and to be repaired and it still making grinding sounds and jerking! I am very cautious to pull out in traffic, afraid for me and my family to be riding in it.
I took my 2013 Ford Fiesta in to get the oil changed and to determine why the car was making a grinding/shutter/tugging noise/feeling on February 16, 2015 to randall reed's prestige Ford, 3601 south shiloh road, garland, TX 75041. I was informed there was a recall on the clutch and that it would be replaced free of charge. Prestige Ford did the work on March 6, 2015 and replaced the clutch. A week later the car was still making the grinding/shutter/tugging feeling . I returned to prestige Ford and the clutch was on back order. Prestige Ford replaced the clutch a second time on may 14, 2015. 5 star Ford has replaced the clutch a third time on Dec. 14, 2015 and it is still making the grinding noise and they failed to put water in the cooling reservoir and the check engine coolant light is on.
Car makes a grinding noise as mileage increase and does not shift properly. Hesitation while trying to accelerate, makes grinding noise and stutter /shuttering. It rolls backwards on inclines and the transmission jerks while I am driving. It has been serviced twice for the same problem and each time I was told that this normal. Car runs okay for 3000 miles most of the time. I fear that I am going to rear end someone and that someone will rear end me . It makes noise as I turn corners.
The vehicle shudders at low speeds when it tries to change gears. There is also grinding noise at low speeds and the vehicle jumps.
Purchased this vehicle as a certified used directly from Ford dealership. Since the second day of owning it, on acceleration there is a buzzing noise under the hood (sounds like a go-cart) and feels like it is clogged. Will accelerate suddenly or will have trouble accelerating especially when getting onto highway which have put me in a few dangerous situations. When coming to a stop or accelerating from a stop you can hear lots of metal clanking and sounds like its chugging. The vehicle vibrates, skips, like it is trying to get in gear on acceleration. Having trouble finding a Ford house that has time or willingness to repair. Any I have called have said it would be 3-4 days before it can get looked at and won't issue a loaner in the meanwhile. I can't go 3-4 days without a car. Monday morning, I am taking in to a dealership and leaving for them to access. This car was purchased for my teenage child who will be getting her license soon, after driving this car for 2 months I do not feel it is safe for her to drive and will be looking at other options for a vehicle.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 5 mph, the vehicle vibrated. The vehicle was making an abnormal noise coming from the transmission. The failure was recurring. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was repaired under a manufacturers recall but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 12,000.
Have owned this car for a year. Past few months having lots of difficulty going from stop to 1st gear. Hesitates, shakes, makes grinding and scary noises when shifting. Was driving up a hill and the car would not shift in a low gear which was the reason for getting it in to the dealer in a hurry. The car is dangerous, it hesitates. It is scary to pull out in traffic and not have the car go when it should. Now my car is sitting at the Ford dealer for almost 3 weeks and they cannot get the parts to repair the transmission. They cannot give me a date as to when my car will be fixed. I have lost all confidence in the car, I want my money back. The car scares me and I don't want to drive it anymore.
-while driving my car I noticed a grinding sound in the transmission as I tried to accelerate when I pulled off. Not only did I hear a grinding sound, the car also started jerking as if it was going to stall out. I returned the vehicle to the dealer where I purchased the car. They said that the drove it and couldn't find anything wrong. My car was returned and I continued to drive it even though I was not pleased with the results. It was my belief that I was ignored because I was a female. After continued grinding and stalling becoming worse especially when I would pull out in traffic I again took the car to the dealer and the kept the vehicle for several days and gave me a loaner car which consequently was the same car that I had and the loaner car sounded just as bad as my car. When I picked my car up they mechanic said that the sound I was hearing was normal for the type of transmission that I had which was a high performance transmission and that's how the clutch worked. The third time I took the car in was on 4-19-2014 after I was almost hit by a car after going into traffic and the car began to sputter repeatedly for 10-15 seconds. The salesman said that there was nothing that the could do because that is how the car runs and it meets all federal guidelines. I am concerned that it shouldn't take someone losing their life for this situation to be resolved. I feel that this needs to be investigated before it truly becomes a deadly matter.
Hesitate shuttering when shifting! makes the car shake! been to the dealer 4 times with this issue and even had the clutch replaced! been reprogrammed 3 times also! I am told this is all they can do! this is a safety concern for myself and family! I want something done under the lemon law! already made a complaint to Ford! no response as of yet!.
On March 30 I bought a brand new car 2013 Ford Fiesta, the car started making grinding noise the second day upon takeoff from a stop, and also when shifting at slower speeds. I took the car to the dealer only one week after the purchase. They told me that the noises were normal. One month after I heard the grinding noises more frequently at first and second gear, rough grinding, I took the car back to the dealer for some days, after this, they told me some noises are normal and gave me an explanation letter from Ford, the characteristics they talk about are different from the ones I heard, but they told me I should wait until 5k miles. After 6400 miles, I took the car back again explaining that the car is making louder noises not only from 5 to 15mph but I also heard the sound even at 60mph, the car shakes from time to time during the louder noises and this noises sounds different every day, different sounds for the same shift, and now, this sounds are longer, from 3 seconds up to 50 second or more, this is not a shift. I have read the letter from Ford and they say a slight grinding noise, that is not the description for a sound which last more than 30 sec (distance more than 1500 feet with a grinding noises). I also explain that, I drove a Fiesta with only 6 miles, same year, transmission and temperature but different sounds. This one made a light grinding noise just as the Ford letter describes. Their response, the noises can be different from car to car. But the diagnostic tips from Ford's letter says; the car has to be compared with a likely vehicle, in order to determine if the noises are normal or not. I believe the Ford Fiesta doesn't have the same quality. After checking the car by the 3rd time and loaded an upgrade for the software, they told me that everything is normal, but to date, this upgrade didn't work at all.
Vehicle when starting from a stopped position will hesitate and shutter the front end and when u keep going past the third gear it will come out of the shuttering. Also wants to stutter when applying gas and acts like its going to stop. Have had the plastic clutch pack replaced in October 2013 but car is worse when accelerating from a stop or lower speed and wanting to accelerate or go faster. The car still shutters hard and acts like wants to die in traffic flow and now car is making grinding and rattle every time accelerating from a speed of 0-30 miles per hr. I want this fixed because this car will not last me until it gets paid off. Ford needs to take note that this 6 pack clutch system is not working for this type of vehicle. I will b getting an attorney if it gets to the point of this cost coming out of my pocket. Shuttering really bad , grinding noise , rattling noise, cutting out like it wants to die, I have seen the first burnt part they replaced in my car and wonder why Ford motor company would install a plastic piece inside a metal part. Also my headlights and windows are somehow connected together. Headlights are not positioned properly to see more then 1/2 car length in front of vehicle. Also radiator was loose and ready to fall out of car after driving vehicle 2 weeks.
This has been an ongoing problem with the vehicle. I purchased car on November 10, 2012, and on November 13 heard a noise in engine. The car would jerk and surge on take off. I returned car to dealer who could not find anything wrong with car. The noise became louder, car began to shudder and surge more often during take off, and stick in reverse. I returned car to dealer on January 8, 2013, but the couldn't find problem. Over the next few months the noise became louder, car shuddered and surged, and began sticking in drive. I returned to dealer again on may 29, 2014, and dealer told me about transmission problems with Ford Fiestas. I picked car up on June 5, 2015 and drove short distance and all power to transmission went out. It eventually 'came back' and I was able to return to dealership. The problem was worse than when I took it to dealer in the beginning. This was a very scary situation because I was in the middle of rush hour traffic. I have had ongoing problems since I purchased car. It had 3 miles on it the date of purchase. I financed 21,049 to get car, and cannot afford to trade car in and go upside on payments. The car is a lemon! I have spoken with Ford 3 times about the matter. I am scared to ride in the car now. I need a car to go do work daily. Ford should recognize this problem and replace my car with a 'better' car. It is a shame that a large conglomerate like Ford can sell a 'lemon' and a consumer like me (single mom) with limited income has to 'take it. " Ford should be held accountable. I have researched the problems and found supporting evidence to my case. I have contacted the attorney general's office in my state about the matter, and spoke with general manager at dealership. Ford has offered to extend my bumper to bumper warranty to 75,000 miles or 5 years (Nov. 2017) but I am still scared to ride in the car. It's dangerous.
This car shudders and shakes between 1st and third as it changes gear may be tps or tranny dealer says nothing found Ford is investigating!!??.
This has been an ongoing problem over the past 12 months. This vehicle shudders and grinds when shifting through 1st to 3rd gears. The vehicle grinds sporadically while maintaining constant speed at low speeds and highway speeds. After coasting, the vehicle will grind and shudder during acceleration. The vehicle has failed to shift into gear on three occasions, one of these incidents nearly resulted in an accident. Most recently, the vehicle has been losing power, grinding, and shuddering for up to 5 seconds before the gear fully engages when turning or conducting u turns, which causes other motorists to nearly rear end my vehicle during heavy traffic. Ford has reprogrammed the transmission three times, without improvement, and informed me each time that they cannot verify a deficiency, and has not honored warranty replacement.
