1 Service Brakes problem of the 2019 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 11/10/2025

Brakes started seizing up while driving. Became extremely dangerous as the car would rock at speed and also would not start moving if I came to a stop. Went immediately to a shop, when I arrived into the shop, inspection found that the caliper was locked onto the wheel preventing the front wheel from moving. Had the caliper replaced but the caliper was still seizing, and then had to get the abs hydraulic assembly, p/n d2bz 2c405-e replaced. This p/n seem to be causing a lot of troubles from online forums. This issue had no warming lamps, messages or anything indicating this other than a feel that the car is accelerating more slowly. However, when the brakes started seizing, the situation felt extremely dangerous.

6 Service Brakes problem of the 2014 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 03/25/2025

2014 Ford Fiesta manual sedan exhibiting recurring, dangerous hood latch malfunction (recently noticed) where hood unlatches while driving/parked & experiencing sudden power loss when ac is used (fuse removed to prevent this dangerous condition). Potential safety hazards: obstructed vision, hood detachment, engine tampering, sudden loss of control. Ford service advisor admitted hood latch "should" be a recall, yet dealership attempts to charge $350-$500 ($250 diagnostic) for repair instead of initiating recall. This raises concerns Ford prioritizes profit over safety, esp. Since Fiesta is discontinued. Other issues include previous brake pad lock-up requiring costly abs hydraulic control unit repair & door latch recall 20s15 ("door may unlatch while driving"). Multiple recurring issues suggest vehicle may be a lemon overall. Request immediate NHTSA investigation into hood latch defect & electrical/ac power loss issue. Urge recall consideration. I will gladly allow my vehicle to be studied in a NHTSA lab to aid investigation. Concern heightened by Ford's discontinuation of model.

7 Service Brakes problem of the 2019 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 03/01/2025

The contact owns a 2019 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed over a pothole, the vehicle made a clunking sound, and the front passenger’s side wheel seized. The contact stated that the brake pads had previously been replaced a year before the failure. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 19v629000 (service brakes, hydraulic); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.

8 Service Brakes problem of the 2019 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 10/21/2024

Upon stopping when applying the brakes they locked up. There were no warning lights on. It was diagnosed by an independent auto repair shop, not drivable I had it towed to the Ford dealership. The abs module, and calipers have failed. I learned there was a recall on these parts but do not apply to my specific VIN #. The abs module is on national back order, likely a month out. I have paid for the part. The service dept quoted new rotors calipers/hose and pads I think this vehicle may need to be added to the recall since it is the exact same failure. Luckily I was in town and not on the interstate when the brake system failed.

9 Service Brakes problem of the 2012 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 09/24/2024

My brakes on my Ford Fiesta are not giving me enough pressure to stop on time , which is an hazard. The master cylinder and calipers have been replaced and my brakes are still not working properly and safely. The brake pads have been replaced , the rotors as well and nothing is still working. I’ve been driving like this for more than 6 months and it’s a hazard. I’ve taken it to different mechanics , etc nothing still not working. When pressing the brakes it’s no pressure and I have to mash it all the way to the ground which still feels iike it does not want to stop for me.

10 Service Brakes problem of the 2019 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 09/04/2024

My clutch slave cylinder failed with approximately 64000 mi on the vehicle. This is a hydraulic system sharing the same reservoir as the brakes. The clutch pedal stuck to the floor leaving me unable to change gear while driving on the highway. Had to pull off on the side of the road and manually pull up the clutch with my hand. After that it functioned seemingly fine. I took the car to a local garage who diagnosed the issue and said it was fairly common on these cars. Part has not been replaced yet so it cannot be inspected but it is scheduled to go in to have the transmission dropped and slave cylinder replaced. There were no lamps messages or other warning signs prior to the incident on the highway aside from a slight softening of the clutch feel which occured during the months proceeding the failure. The clutch in this vehicle is notoriously soft to begin with so it did not feel much different. Thank you.

11 Service Brakes problem of the 2014 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 08/14/2024

I started to notice a bit of resistance when pressing on the brakes. Minor initially, but then if you had to apply slightly more pressure the car would jerk/pull hard to the right. The harder and faster you had to press, the more intense the jerk. I took her in to the dealership and they noticed something with the reservoir into the hydraulics unit that feeds fluid into the brakes.   the fluids are not circulating back into it and the caliper is not building enough pressure to close. They said it's the abs hydraulic control unit: d2bz-2c405-e and the part is on national backorder with no eta. The car is unsafe to drive without the part. She's a 2014 with only 28k miles and it seems strange to have this failure with such low mileage. I just have texts with the dealership right now. I spoke with Ford directly today and they guesstimated 5-6 months for the part. I ordered a used part and will take her to another mechanic to get it replaced in the interim since the dealership won't work with a used part. At that point I will have invoices. Thanks.

12 Service Brakes problem of the 2015 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 03/03/2024

Oil pickup is clogged in sump, preventing proper oiling of engine, in turn effecting air vacuum pump, in turn sporadically effecting brake effectiveness. Brake pedal is suddenly stiff and car does not slow down. Oil warning light on cluster illuminates, but not always.

13 Service Brakes problem of the 2017 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 02/11/2024

I was driving down a very busy highway about 60 mph when my oil light started flashing on my dash and my check engine light came on and when I tried to push my brake pedal to stop my car I couldn't push it in. My brakes were very hard, I had to pull my emergency brake to stop my car and coast into a gas station so I didn't hit anyone. I have done a lot of research online and this same issue is already under recall on 2 other Ford models as well as a class action lawsuit against Ford because of this issue. My model however is not listed under the recall because it has a manual transmission and they said that those models are not affected but that's clearly not true.

14 Service Brakes problem of the 2017 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 02/11/2024

I was driving down hwy 378 headed to columbia and as I was approaching a stop light and getting ready to press my break my oil light on my dash started flashing, and when I attempted to push my brake pedal I couldnt. My brake pedal was hard as a rock and wouldn't press in at all. The highway I was traveling on is a very busy 4 lane highway, I was traveling about 60mph and had to pull my emergency brake and practically stand on my brake pedal to get my car to slow down and coast into a gas station parking lot. I barely missed hitting the car in front of me by a few inches.

16 Service Brakes problem of the 2015 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 07/20/2023

I believe that it is the abs brake system I am bringing it to the Ford dealer Thursday. The caliper on the front driver side was not working so I changed it still didn't work fluid go's to the abs pump but doses not come out of that one. When you use the brakes the front passenger side locks up and slides like it's not going to stop it is really bad when the roads are wet and there were no warning signs. It's going to the dealer Thursday.

17 Service Brakes problem of the 2015 Ford Fiesta

19 Service Brakes problem of the 2011 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 09/21/2022

Brake peddle started to feel soft. Performed front brake job. Peddle still felt soft. Took to local mechanic said back breaks needed replacing along with some other items. Took vehicle to second mechanic for second opinion. At that time they replaced brake master cylinder all rear brake components, brake fluid flush and after completing that work mechanic came to us and said this vehicle will be needing a whole new abs system and that cannot be done because Ford and other companies stopped making the parts to complete the job. He then said the venice is unsafe to drive and can not be fixed due to lack of parts.

20 Service Brakes problem of the 2015 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 09/11/2022

Goes with incidents: 11501018, 11501025, 11500972 & 11500985 I am 100% disabled, but work occassionally via ssa ticket to work program, for amazon, using Ford Fiesta to deliver packages. 9. 11. 22 at 4:30am delivering package to 1455 lorraine dr. , waterford, mi, on north side of road. As I backed out of driveway, now facing east, and busy road, hiller rd. I had only just gotten in, no seatbelt on backing up. Switched from reverse to drive, foot still on brake, car took off, as if I'd stomped on accelerator, but my foot was on brake still. Hitting brakes, I flew almost to hiller rd. , brakes not working, car speeding, steering worked. Tried to slow down, was on south side of road, on people's lawns. Going so fast, I went into ditch, then came up out of ditch! narrowly avoided mailboxes. Last house before hiller rd. On my right, tried to slow down in large lot next door, didn't work. They have huge boulders along edge of grass, I not only slammed into a boulder, but they had chopped down trees too, laid them down along edge of grass with boulders. Car went up, against gravity, onto one of these trees, before hitting the boulder. If you can imagine, from hood to bumper, and further out each end, I was up, on top of a tree, the bumpers dug into it, so the 4 tires were loose on each side, front hit boulder. Hadn't put on seatbelt yet, my head slammed into steering wheel, airbags didn't deploy again, $400 cell phone screen split, cracked. I hit my head so hard, it knocked me out, I'm not sure how long, seconds to minutes. Came to, was on tree, tried to somehow dig car out, with flashlight and crowbar. Ended up calling amazon emergency, it was Sunday, too early, not there. Called geico, then 3 other tow CO. 's, after 2 hours lakeside towing came by, had to use winch and flatbed, had to chop up tree was on, pull back from boulder. Was stuck there for hours. Phone screen shattered, had to be replaced, pay $125 for a tow, hit head, bumpers, scratched, all b/c this Ford Fiesta.

22 Service Brakes problem of the 2014 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 06/13/2022

On a long road trip with my mother while accelerating onto a highway I heard a metal object from the front right of my car drop onto the road. Subsequently, I heard a minor clanking/rattling noise every now and then but everything was operating normally and I could not connect any driving actions to this noise. Later on I looked under the vehicle for any loose hanging objects but could see none. When I got home I went to my home Ford dealer they were charging an exorbitant diagnostic fee so I went to a different dealer with a more reasonable fee. I was asked if I recently had my brakes serviced to which I replied yes. I was told there was a missing upper right caliper bolt. This explained the noise I heard of a metal object dropping. I brought it to the attention of the service manager of my home dealer. I was reimbursed by my home dealer for the cost of the diagnosis and repair at the other dealer. Some months later there was management shakeup of personnel and I learned that the service manager and technicians that I spoke with were replaced. I didn't think much at the time that it was anything more than carelessness but I came across some new information. The use of torque to yield (tty) bolts in vehicle safety related components presents a safety hazard. These type of bolts are one-time or single use. They are indistinguishable from traditional bolts. Once torqued to specification, the loosening of these bolts will cause them to fail. They complicate routine maintenance, require more precise equipment, and leave a lot to chance of human error. Improper installation or reuse of these bolts will lead to catastrophic failure. General ignorance among professional trained mechanics, as well as auto part stores, diy vehicle owners, as well as lack of labeling, and lack of proper warning from vehicle manufacturers is a recipe for disaster. Vehicle manufacturers should not use these bolts for safety related vehicle components. Vehicle owners should be informed.

Failure Date: 10/15/2019

The resivour cap, siezed up first time I was trying to add coolant. It took along time get it off! litterly had to break cap into pieces. And with oem part cap. From the Ford dealership replaced it? in now it's, overheats and no visible coolant leak. And this has been going on for several months. . The motor makes a clacking sounds. The 1. 0 turbocharge 3-cyl turbo is not working properly. Plus it's engine bay fuse box says engine fan is 60 amps in recently I noticed it has had a 40 gage amp. Thank that the under the hood engine fan. Wasn't perform at the recommended fuse. . It also at start up and sitting still at motor bog's down like it's about to cut off. Know the overheat proublem's. If I'm sitting still in neutral and I turn the ac on full-blast it stays at 4 bars which is normal for as long as I want and it doesn't over heat ? but, soon as I put it in 1st gear and try to drive it will overheat, not even going 10ft and I have to turn off the ac and put it on the heat. Full blast! within a few minutes it slowly goes down. But know that it's July if it's anything over 90 degrees outside I have to turn heat on full blast before making it 1-block or it overheats. In I have kept a close watch on the coolant level, and I have watched youtube videos and etc? trying to figure out what's wrong. In all my parts store location don't have any thing for my year make model nothing. I got this car from a dealership a year ago of the month July. In it gets regular oil changes, but I'm lost trying to figure out what is wrong, and what to do about it and others I know of have had same proublem with there's . . And I have to have heat on full hot on 1-2 level in 70 degree weather, and if I get onto the interstate and go to 55-70 mph I turn heat level to 4 full blast and it will still go up to 1 bar away from it telling me that engine is overheated. & at 2500 rpms it overheats! smh.

I have a 2015 Fiesta that has 811 miles on it. The VIN # 3fadp4bj3fm220366. I bought for my daughter and she has had three accidents. She has not driven the last 1 years, as the hide original message police said it was her fault, although she said that the car just moved forward! at that time we did not have any idea that the Fiesta had any problems. She also has not been able to work because this went against her record. I have had the car in my garage, and hire someone about every six month to come and service this car. May I ask that you consider refunding to me the price I paid and you can then have this car back. Thanking you in advance for any consideration. 35 Service Brakes problem of the 2011 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 04/18/2018

My husband and I bought a car from them. It is in my husbands name. My husband is not from this country and doesn't know what things mean in their context. This car was sold to us as is with a branded title. We accepted that. However, the car was sold to us with broken parts and the repairs that were done to it were not done to standard oem specifications. The car was sold to us with a broken front axel. This is a major safety issue because had this completely broken going down the road and we were in a wreck that would have been bad. The car is not fixed at this time and they refuse to fix it due to the papers that were signed by my husband that of which I am sure he didn't know what he was signing being someone who has never bought a car before. I do t feel that this car lot should be allowed to sell the car in this condition even as is. Please let me know if we have any rights here. Thank you!.
