There was a transmission failure, electrical problems, and brake problems. The engine dies while driving. Although seven years old, it has less than 40,000 miles on it from it being worked on constantly. It is useless as a vehicle.

Went to stop hit the brake peddle and the car did not slow down, I pumped the brakes then hit them again still the car did not slow down, I impacted the rear of a truck, a fire started under hood in front of the driver's side at the windshield area, the steering wheel air bag didn't deploy nor did the seat belt lock, causing me to hit the steering wheel with my chest. Car was traveling aprox. 35 mph.

The contact owns a 2012 Ford Fiesta. While coming to a stop, the vehicle began to rev while in neutral at high speeds. The vehicle would decelerate intermittently as if it would stall, but then suddenly began to accelerate. The failure recurred while driving approximately 30 mph. The contact depressed the brake pedal, but the vehicle failed to stop until the anti-lock brakes were activated. The dealer stated that the electronic throttle body failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The part for the repair was on back order. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the repair was no longer under warranty. The VIN was unknown. The failure mileage was 62,143.
From a stand still up until speed, every gear shift is meet with a shudder and feels like it slips while the transmission chages gear. Just recently the car started to jerk and stutter and I barely made it home. The rpms rise and dip and is undriveable. It has been brought in for transmission module reprogramming and inspection of transmission fluids. I thought in the past that the shaking and stuttering was normal, according to Ford that is normal. It's not that when my car started jerking and sputtering that I realize something is very wrong. Ford did give me an extended warranty for up to 70k miles. Also,I notice that when the surface is wet and I break gradually on a wet surface ie,painted street dividers, painted street signs or oil ,abs will break the vehicle, the vehicle will lock up causing it to slide and then when I get on the gas pedal the car will be unresponsive to my gas pedal input. Basically, I wouldn't be able to get out of hands way because the cars power to move for 2-3seconds is non existent.
Today, 1/19/2016 is my 6th visit to Ford dealer service since 2014 August. My car has been towed in to service location with condition of transmission shudders excessively. I was not able to drive the car with a in-operating transmission. It is very sad, I do not feel safe to drive the vehicle no more than 15 miles if I can. Transmission and clutch has been fixed for 3 times. Every time I have talked to Ford customer rep. They are telling me I should be okay because they extend my transmission coverage to 100. 000 miles. Should I toss my car after 100. 000 ? I definitely do not feel I can make it to 100. 000 without an injury!!! will company wait until someone get injured for a buyback policy? who is responsible for the time I spent on the issue?.
The Ford Fiesta we have has had transmission issues for a while. We have taken it in 4 times, twice they claimed they reprogrammed the computer and replaced the clutch. We have continued to notice the vehicle jerking or pulsating when accelerating and braking. Ford has yet to respond to us with a resolution despite multiple attempts to have them address the issue. Our safety concern is that the transmission will eventually fail and put our safety in jeopardy.
Currently driving my car with a bad clutch assembly because the part is on back order because of a customer satisfaction bulletin from Ford motor company. Driving today and the vehicle in front of me came to an abrupt stop. I came within an inch of rear ending the vehicle because when I put my brakes on my cars the clutch would not do downshift to stop my car. Had to steer to the right onto curb to avoid hitting the car in front of me, came within an inch of hitting the car. The dealer service department told me putting in a new clutch will not fix the problem because they are putting in the same defective part. This is my second clutch assembly within 7,000 miles.
Tl- the contact owns a 2016 Ford Fiesta. The contact states that while depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle continues to lunge forward without warning. The contact also states that at times while applying pressure to the accelerator, the vehicle will stall and will slowly pick up speed, no warning light illuminate during this failure. Another failure with this vehicle has been uninitialized shifts into neutral while in drive, causing the vehicle to overheat without warning. The contact has taken the vehicle to be serviced at a dealership (galpin Ford, inc. 1000 sandretto dr, prescott, az 86305 (877) 826-2935) where it was diagnosed with a faulty transmission. Since owning the vehicle, the transmission control module has been replaced twice. The manufacturer has been notified of the failure where he was given the cost to repair the vehicle. The failure mileage was 39,000. Jo.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fiesta. While driving approximately 30 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to accelerate. The vehicle shook violently and jerked forward without warning. While the brake pedal was depressed on an incline, the vehicle drifted backwards and crashed into a tree. A police report was not filed and there were no injuries. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the clutch failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 18,000. The VIN was unavailable.
Brake rotos have rusted to the point of grinding during normal driving. Ford refuses to fix the issue.
Car cannot be driven in snow. If trying to start from a complete stop in 1" of snow, the traction control will cut power to the wheels, leaving you stuck in place. This is very dangerous as it can leave the driver stuck in the middle of an intersection as happened to me today. Ford has since added a way to disable the traction control, but this model year is extremely dangerous in the snow.
I was driving approximatly 45 mph on st rt 28 in milford ohio and my door was locked and the door ajar light failed to indicate any failure in securing the door apropiatly, well as I began braking to reduce speed my door flew open and I reached out to shut it as I was applieing pressure to the brake and they completely failed causing me to rear end the vehicle in my front, upoun impact the air bag on the drive t side only failed to deploy therfore causing a sustantially greater amount and longer lasting injuys. The door slammed shut on my wrist causing debilutating and life altering injury's including the loss of my 5 year career as a exterior finish carpenter due to loss of ability to perform general tasks that I was able to not onl perform but actually master before my auto accident.
Rear door won't latch. Opened the door to put something in the back seat and now door won't latch.

On September 30, 2014 , driving on residential road at 40 mph , with no prior warning all vehicle console lights lid up and dash console showed an error "immobilizer failure". Steering and brakes began to worsen making the vehicle inoperable. This while crossing a busy intersection in which thankfully the light was turned in my favor . This was very scary and could have lead to a tragic event . Fortunately I did not panic and was able to use vehicle momentum to drive into a plaza driveway . At this moment I feel that this vehicle is dangerous and should not be on the road. I strongly urge that there be an investigation opened immediately . Your attention to this matter is with great urgency. Regards.
My daughter took her car in for repair end of July 2014, due to very bad shuttering, shaking, acceleration and brake issue. Dealership claims they reset the computer that speaks to the transmission. I had her take car back about 10 days later due to the same issue. They claim there was nothing wrong with vehicle that she needs to drive at least another 1000 miles so that computer can register her driving habits??? I drove her to work the following Friday and as I was leaving uphill parking structure the car felt as it completely stalled out, I had the pedal floored and nothing and then out of nowhere the car jumped and accelerated forward. Luckily there were no cars in front of me I would of definitely hit them. I drove vehicle straight to dealership and asked salesman to take for a test drive. He stated that there was clearly a problem and he would have gsm call me by the following Monday. Tuesday comes and as my daughter was driving to work she was involved in an accident due to the car not accelerating so she floored it and unfortunate for her hit the vehicle in front of her. I called salesman back and he said he would call me back, 3 weeks later no phone call from salesman or gsm. Accident occured on 8-19-14 then we received a letter postmarked 8-26-14. Customer satisfaction program claiming they have extended her warranty on clutch and transmission input shaft salsas well as the transmission software calibration for a total of 7 years or 100,000 miles whichever occurs first. To date still have not received call back from salesman or general service manager. Vehicle needs to be recalled. . . . . .
Fiesta went into neutral while moving. It would not return to 'drive' or reverse or 'low' until stopped ( in traffic ) , killed engine, and restarted. Brake peddle felt 'locked' when re-starting. It ran ok until later in day when it failed to drive at all and was towed to dealer. Failure was always when moving in traffic.
Driving on the freeway going normal speeds the "transmission failure" message popped up on my dash and the car started viscously jerking. The car had trouble stopping as if the brakes couldn't function properly cause the transmission was out. My car would fiercely jerk forward when I was coming to a stop that I then noticed I had to stop further back than normal in fear of the car jerking forward to hard and hitting the car in front of me. When I finally parked and was ready to go to a well lit area the car started up perfectly normal and the transmission failure message was gone. Took it to Ford and they couldn't understand the severity of the issue due to the fact that the car basically "fixed itself. " I then asked them if it is going to take someone getting into an accident for them to recall the transmission on this car and they only told me "there's nothing they can do about it". They saw an issue and told me it would be approx. 3 thousand dollars to fix the car is only 2 years old. Ford also told me the car isn't safe for me to drive on the road. Yet they don't see that as a reason to not recall the cars to get it fixed since I'm positive my car isn't the only one that has done this. I guess myself almost getting into and accident and causing injury to myself and others is not a good enough reason for them.
Brakes squeek. Dealer supposedly fixed. Still squeeks, but now also squeeks even if you are not braking. It is a high pitched squeel, and is embarrassing.
Last night I was driving in the highway, there was traffic congestion and I tried to brake but the brakes didn't respond even when I pushed the brake until the end. Finally, my car impacted the other car. After that, when I tried to move the car to the side, I almost collide the car again because this time the brake was blocked and I had to put the parking position quickly. This happen to me before but I was in a parking lot, the speed was very low and I could control the situation. I didn't pay to much attention in that moment when because it didn't happen again until last night when I had the accident. I also have been facing problems with the steering of the car. I turned on the car and when I put it in direct, the car went backward and the opposite, I put it in reverse and the car went forward. It happened like three times. During this year. This is a new car that I bought on December last year, and I don't feel safe driving this car.
I bought this car brand new in July of 2012 and I have had nothing but problems with it. The main issue being the horrible transmission. The car sputters and shakes upon take off; the rpms rev up very high and yet the care goes nowhere; the car sounds like it needs to shift into the next gear, but doesn't; there is a huge delay when you step on the gas, the car sits there before it actually goes anywhere; the car lunges forward when you are in situations like stop and go traffic. I have taken my car into two separate dealers and the car has had 3 clutches so far. The newest problem with the car is a horrible squealing coming from the brakes. I've had two new sets of brakes and a deglazing of the brakes, only to have the problem still exist. I've taken this car in for a total of 6 times for the transmission and this week will be the 4th time for the brakes. These cars are a road hazard and should be recalled immediately. I have filed a complaint with Ford motor company and the bbb auto line. Ford should be ashamed of themselves for knowing about these issues and not doing anything about it. People's lives are at risk in these cars and they obviously don't care. I wonder how many people will have to die or get injured before Ford decides to admit they sold a horrible product and that it needs to be recalled.
Transmission replaced4 times.
As I was driving on the surface streets, the cars brakes did not work. I pumped the brakes three times before they actually locked and I slid on the road and rear ended a vehicle. The impact was quite intense and the damaged was quite large. For some reason the airbags did not deploy being that the front end of my vehicle was damaged all the way in-till the engine.
Transmission started grinding while trying to accelerate from sitting idle. Brakes locked up 3 different times while I had my foot on the brake. The transmission revs very high with any street that is not completely flat. When I sit at a stop light it will roll backward when I try to go. It is an automatic transmission.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated while attempting to close the doors, the four doors failed to latch properly. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to be repaired; however, while driving off the lot, the contact became aware that the radio was inoperable, and the brake pedal was firm and difficult to depress. The vehicle was not taken back to the dealer. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 127,000. The VIN was unavailable.
While driving at highway speeds and you have to hit the brakes hard to slow down fast but not an emergency braking situation the car pulls hard to the right to the point you are pulled into the lane beside you. The car has been in the dealers shop 4 times to repair this problem to no avail.
Gas sticks, brakes make noise too stop car, gas speed control wide open hard too stop car, brakes not working well. . . . . . . Almost killed someone!!!!!!!!!!!. . . . . Stupid rent a car from enterprise. . . .
Coming to stop you start to speed up why you are pressing on brakes,do to the fact that the brake pedal and gas pedal are to close to each other.
You've filed a problem incorrectly. The below complaint was filed under Fiesta, but it's clearly an f250 pickup that had the problem.
