The door sensors do not work properly. These sensors sense when the door is open or closed. The sensor malfunctions causing the doors not to lock or causing them to unlock while driving or even while parked. It will not allow you to lock the doors even when the car is in park. When you try to lock the door manually they will immediately unlock. This inability to even lock the door manually is a an additional safety issue. We cannot feel safe when traveling because we cannot lock the doors and trust them to stay locked. This sensor also causes the interior lights to stay on intermittently. Sometimes the lights will be on for hours at a time and you cannot turn them off. Often, the battery is dead because the lights have been on. These sensors cause the car alarm to go off if the car is parked and locked because it suddenly shows the doors as open. Our doors constantly trip. Sometimes when you press the brake to stop the Flex, the alarm will ding saying that the door is open and to put the car into park. It is almost like the door sensor moves or tilts when stopping the car losing its connection that allows it to sense to door closure. All of this happens daily! help!!!.

Passenger door ajar dash light goes on and off when the door is secure and locked. Interior lights go on and off when ajar light is displayed and power locks unlock/lock at the same time. This is a serious issue at night when the interior lights go on and off the entire time when your driving blinding you as well as I have been pulled over because they thought I stole the car. While pulled over I was asked to step out of the car and when I exited the car ibecame possessed and the alarm went off and interior lights began blinking and flashing on and off. The car alarm consistently goes off at all hours of the day and night causing the battery to go dead if your not around to shut it off. This is also issue as my car can get stolen at any time if the factory alarm isn't working or I could get carjacked because the doors won't stay locked. This issue happens in park, in drive and reverse. It happens while driving or idling as well as it occurs on the highway and city streets. I have read many other reports and Ford needs to address this in the 2009 Flex as well.

Door sensor on front passenger door stays on causing dome to stay on. Runs battery dead keeps panel lights on. Already replaced back passenger door under warranty last year. At 60000 miles warranty is out and cost is $500 to fix. I have read a lot of complaints about this issue. . I cannot let anyone sit in my front passenger seat for fear of not being able to shut door for door sensor to go off and not come out to a dead battery. Now the door open light comes on without the door being opened and won't go off. This causes do. E lights to stay on resulting in draining the battery. . This is obviously a big issue now. As I have read there is a lawsuit. .
This 2013 Ford Flex has experienced several electrical, mechanical, and lighting issues. All 5 door latches, door sensors, car's alarm system, and battery has failed. The car's bcm has reported intermittent door ajar alarms. This effects the car's door locks as well as the car's dome light and car's alarm system. At no point will the car's doors lock while the car is in drive. So any child can open up a door while the car is in motion. The dome light comes on causing a vision glare at night. Twice my wife has almost pulled out in front of oncoming motoris at night, do to the light glare within the car. Because the car's dome light comes on intermittently, the car's battery drains down while parked. You cannot set the car's alarm without the door sensors setting the car's alarm system off. My local Ford dealership has replaced all 5 door latches and sensors, the car battery, and the bcm at a financial loss to me at $1700. 00. At no point has Ford offered to help with these issues. Now. . . It's time for the NHTSA to act and help protect the consumers before a tragedy strikes. Luckily. . . . I had the money to fix these issues to protect my family of six. Thank you!.
The doors are always saying they are ajar and they are not. I have taken it to the dealership they took out one sensor on my door and then after that two others went off and now they continue to go off. My lights will stay on for about 10 minutes and they will finally shut off and sometimes they shut off turn back on and then my alarm goes off in the middle of the night most of the time. I'll shut it off lock it make sure all the doors are locked and then I will go back out and the alarms are going back off. Again all the doors are shut the car's been sitting there for probably about 3 to 4 hours and I'm pretty sure that the lights keep going on and off after a while the alarm starts going off. It is draining my battery my battery is going bad because of it I don't know what else to do. I need this fixed. I work at the hospital and we have to park our cars a couple miles away so if my cars going off I have no idea there has been several times that I have had to get my car boosted because my battery was dead.
The driver door always says its open and the light on the inside to the car stay on until the vehicle is driven at a certain speed, the alarm also randomly comes on. The car battery stays dead because of this problem. The car will be off and the alarm will be set the alarm will sound so I cannot lock my doors.
2013 Ford Flex model pos, rear passenger door ajar sensor was repaired due to being defective while under warranty around 32000 miles I believe, at roughly 45000 miles the drivers door sensor was starting to fail, it would require 2 shuts to shut off. Battery kept dying, got it tested said good but kept dying, did not think it was a issue with the door, but one night I went out to get something from my truck and what do you know every light in the thing is on. Why? you ask because the drivers door is apparently ajar, but its not. I replaced the battery the morning before I seen the lights issue $200 gone. Contacted Ford by email recieved no response, contacted via facebook and they responded that they will try to help, recieved a call the next day nope we wont help you. For a $45000 truck it sure is made of low quality material. I will not be recommending Ford to anyone. Worried the airbags wont deploy properly if there is an accident, if the truck thinks the door is open. Not to mention the fact my battery will die anywhere I stop for a few hours.
