I filled up my gas tank and a couple minutes later experienced shuddering while parked so I decided to turn the vehicle off and turn it back on but it struggles to turn back on. I then drove back home and as I was driving the acceleration was going up and down and then to 0. As I stopped on a red light the car completely shut down while the light then turned green and the check engine light, battery, and oil light came on. I then turned the vehicle off and in order to start it I had to step on the gas. I made it home but have not driven it since. I noticed there was a 19s22 recall but I spoke with Ford and they said my vehicle didn’t get it but it is experiencing the same issues that the recall mentioned. There is a one time replacement for the cpv but it doesn’t cover half of what the 19s22 does and it seems to be the same problem.
After receiving program #24n07 on 12/04/2024, my 2012 Ford Focus was stalling out while downshifting to stops and after refueling, this happened around the 1st week of December of 2025 about a year after getting it repaired by the Ford dealership in my area. Replaced it myself this time, but sort of crazy to have to replace yet another purge valve just a year after.
Everytime I go to get fuel the car will not crank it makes a terrible noise then cranks but its slow. The pressure in tank causes it to stall out.
I was starting to pull away from a traffic light but the car would not go to second gear and was shaking violently this has happened more times then I can count and I take care of my [xxx] we travel 50 miles a day in this car on one of the most dangerous roads in the nation [xxx] ) there are places on this road with no emergency lanes in case my car stalls again or just won't go into gear and I have drivers bearing down on me at 70 miles an hour. I know for a fact these issues have come up with countless others that have bought this vehicle and I just don't understand why this isn't a big enough safety concern is it going to take the death of me and my grandson for a recall to be made on this piece of garbage Ford calls a transmission? I don't have $ for another vehicle and if this one doesn't keep getting me to work I'll be out of a job and we will be homeless a friend helped me buy this car and I assumed he checked it out first and he only looked at the accident report but not the overall report on these vehicles which shouldn't even be on car lots for sale they are unsafe death traps and when people start dying in them which im sure has already happened those deaths are on Ford and on this so called national highway safety because your not doing your job this recall should have happened years ago information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Vehicle has difficulty starting after refuel. Vehicle stalls randomly to the point that is too much of a danger to drive. All of the symptoms correlate to recall (18s32) yet this particular vehicles VIN was not listed in the list of recalled vehicles. The dtc's are as follows,p0420, p0456, p1450. Upon being serviced for the Ford customer satisfaction program 24n07 it was noted by a service advisor that the replacement of a fuel tank and fuel pump was necessary which would be a reference to recall (18s32). However due to this VIN not falling under recall (18s32) the service for a replacement fuel tank and fuel pump is not covered by warranty. Vehicle has erratic and innacurate fuel gauge indication. Vehicle stalled in the middle of traffic shortly after service was completed. Dealership has no clearance from Ford to address problem because 24n07 makes no mention of components that could be affected by faulty canister purge valve, unlike (18s32) and as such leaves this vehicle to be a hazard on the road.
1) each and every time I pop it fuel into my car, even if I'm just topping it off, when I start it it like starts to bog down like it's clogged or something, then just like that clears up. 2) while car is off, and no keys in ignition at all, my cars dashboard makes this almost clicking sound and I notice the fuel tank and gauge both shot b up to the top then drop back downs, it's strange, 3) sometimes when accelerating from hear the car almost stalks. . . That's v the only way I'd be by able to describe it.
Car will stall and then completely shut down. And takes awhile to restart. This last time I was on the highway and cars were going so fast. Almost had a panic attack!!.
For almost 5 years everytime I fill my gas tank the fumes leak from my car. About 2 days ago the tank started leaking gas from a huge crack in the tank. I told the Ford service center about this issue and they said that my individual car wasn't under the recall (for this exact issue) so they can only look at it and see what they can do. I know of a few other Focus models (a little newer than my 2012) who have also experienced this issue as well whose cars was not under the recall. Just in the 10 minute and less than 15 mile drive from my house to the service center I saw my fuel gauge go from 275 miles to 223, not to mention about 4 days ago I went to fuel up and when I got home my tank was at 330 miles and I haven't left my house since I fueled up (except going to the service center). I called the Ford customer center and ws told to fill out this form and to see about a recall approval for my car for this issue.
My 2012 Ford se stalls out between first, second and third gear whenever I am accelerating to 40mph. The transmission error continues to pop up after driving for a long period of time. Whenever driving 50 mph to 70 mph as soon as I release the gas pedal, the car goes into neutral stall out & whenever I press down on the gas pedal nothing happens and I have to pull over & turn the car off and turn it back on to reset the transmission computer. If I don’t do that and I press the gas pedal again, the car would jerk and I have to pull over immediately and the car off. I cannot press full on the gas pedal because the car would not accelerate at full speed. Whenever I put gas in the car, it won’t start right away. It would jerk and choke just to start up. It takes me a couple attempts to start the car after putting gas in order for it to start and go. Whenever I’m finished driving and turn the car off, it makes it clicking noise in the engine area for about 2 to 5 minutes and it won’t stop and it only happens when you open the front doors or when the car is completely turned the car off. Whenever I put a full tank of gas or a half tank , the car would not dry properly install out on the highway or street I can’t drive at normal speed because I don’t know when the car is gonna stall out before it hits 1,2 or 3rd gear, which makes it very dangerous to drive on the highway.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford Focus. The contact stated while driving the vehicle the vehicle stalled and ran out of gas on several occasions being fueled. The check engine light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who performed a diagnostic and informed the contact to return the vehicle to the dealer due to Ford safety recall 18s32-s1 fuel tank deformation. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who informed the contact the purge valve and fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to cost. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 169,000.
My check engine light went on and off for a while, and every time I filled up with gas my car would not start. I would have to turn it off and then on again in order to get it to run. I have attached details of the repair, which were a specific 2012 Ford Focus recall that my car had not been included in. Since this repair, my car’s fuel tank still does not function properly. My fuel gauge is faulty, which is dangerous because I could run out of gas at any moment even if it appears to be half full. My fuel tank is not pressurized enough to push enough gas into the tank to run as it should (I may have worded that wrong, but I am repeating what o’reilly has told me). This car should have been on the fuel pump recall list.
Causing vehicle to shutter or jerk making the driver lose control for a minute or two when driving. Happens only, when accelerating at from a stop or turn.
My car is often displaying a pending p1450 (unable to bleed up fuel tank vacuum) check engine light code. Whenever, I fill my car with gas, it take a few tries to get the car to start. My car has also lost power several times while driving without warning - and took a while to re-start. I had to have my fuel tank replaced as it deformed and leaked gas to the point where it was un-fixable. Car symptoms of not starting after being filled with gas and losing power at random times while in operation have not been solved with the replacement of a brand new fuel tank. The p1450 error code still continues to come up suggesting a purge valve problem that will be expensive to fix, in addition to the fuel tank that has already needed to be replaced.
Purge valve became stuck closed which caused fuel vapors to become trapped in the fuel tank. Fuel tank collapsed inward. This is a common occurrence with 2012-2018 Ford Focus models but my vehicle was not covered under a recall warranty.
There is a warning light showing a code 1450, unable to create fuel vacuum, that at first was thought to be an issue with a current recall for the car that was fixed. But after a routine oil change a fuel leak was found. I was told by the mechanic that it appears to be a fuel tank deformation similar to the 19s22 recall. My Ford Focus was not apart of that recall and I was told by Ford to contact you to potentially have my car added. The leak is subnational enough that it could cause an engine fire.
I bought this car in February of this year, and the problems were present at purchase, I have brought it in and had them looked at but unable to determine what was wrong. The car sometimes stalls out whenever parked, or idling. Every time I put gas in, then start it, the vehicle will start then immediately stall. I have to start it and push the gas to keep it from stalling and quickly put into drive and his the gas to get it from stalling when I try to drive away. While starting the car the rpms go very high and reves as if someone was pushing the gas. The hood display on the dash always says the hood is open. This has been present since start.
The fuel valve inside the car is stuck open causing the car to stall I saw recalls for other Ford Focus around the same time as my car with same year and same problem 19s22/18s32 I just don’t get how my car didt make recall list but the ones before and after from the same plant did and I’m still having that problem.
The transmission has given trouble since the beginning of owning this 2012 Ford Focus and now it is in the shop as of 6-11-2022 and the transmission module control is on back order. They say they reset it and my daughter could drive it but if it goes out again then it will be her bill bc the warranty will be out.
Got error code p1450 of cpv which falls under the following recall but Ford motor company is stating the VIN does not fall under this recall as they are VIN specific but the link below states the recall affects the vehicles built from 8/1/2010 to 4/17/17. This vehicle build date according to the door sticker is 3/12 which should fall under the recall see below link: https://static. Nhtsa. Gov/odi/rcl/2018/rcmn-18v735-0635. Pdf.
I have had p1450 code combined with p144a. The p1450 was a recall item for my year and model of car but my VIN is not included. I think it is the same problem as the others.
While driving the vechicle it has problems accelerating and dies out in traffic to a rolling stop. I had the car diagnosed at a Ford dealership near me and was told it would be worse senario approx. $6500 to repair and that is because part of the transmission is $4000 alone. Despite the transmission issues reported on this vehicle the dealership would not comp any fixes. When in reality my problem is the same as many other owners that reported this issue. The difference is the car is newer to me but was previously owned. This is bad that Ford released a faulty transmission and leaves the owners with the burdon to repair.
Problem: reoccurring check engine light and odb2 code's p0443 & p0444 repairs made: maf sensor purge control valve reset computer air filter cap less gas fill, w0133-2022154 related safety recalls: 18s32, 19v515000, 18v735 or 18v735000 I believe the problem occurs due to an recall that was not performed or performed correctly leaving the problem. I am requesting the recall repair history from form motor company please. Thank you, taz.
I previously had the 18s32 recall done. They said everything was fine even though ever since I had the tank, purge valve and computer retooling done it never drove right. It didn’t have accurate miles to empty and never seemed like it used to before all this was done. 2 months ago the car stalled while driving below 30mph. I pulled the car over and turned it off. I tried turning it back on multiple times and it didn’t work until finally I got it back on but it had a check engine light. It wouldn’t shift right and check engine light kept coming back on. We got it checked out and the Ford service center claimed it was the transmission and engine. We didn’t have it fixed then and we took it back home the check engine light never came back on. This last week 10/11/21 the car started smelling like fuel outside the car and wouldn’t accelerate well. Took it into the Ford service center at a different location and they confirmed it was the fuel canister leaking and the fuel line to the fuel insert point was messed up. I noticed they had performed recall 18s32 on it before but it never fixed the issue and they did a 2nd recall on some vehicles because of it called 19s22. The Ford service center and customer care both said they can’t perform 19s22 recall because it doesn’t show up on my VIN number as needing done even though clearly I’m still having issues with the fuel system that was recalled in the first place. I’m now going to have to pay out of pocket for an issue Ford should be covering under recall work.
I took my car to the dealership to repair the recall associated with the purge control valve (buckeye Ford) the said it was fine. I have had my car towed twice due to it stalling on the road the mechanic at meyers garage in ft loramie ohio has reset the low fuel code twice even thought I have had a full tank of gas.
Cel came on while I was traveling. When I took my car to get it read, the error code was p1450, unable to bleed up fuel tank vacuum. After filling up my car with gas, it would struggle to turn on. I would have to push down on the accelerator while turning the ignition so that my car would start properly. Even then it still felt like it was stalling and wanted to turn off. I am aware that this issue was part of another recall related to my gas tank becoming deformed. I wound up replacing the vapor canister purge solenoid and that seems to have fixed the problem.
My car randomly started stalling out while driving. A check engine light came on, and when I took it in to get read, the mechanics told me they were the codes pertaining to the recall on this car for the purge valve malfunction. The local dealer will not grant me an appointment to look at it and complete the recall for another 5 weeks. . . . . My appointment isn't until October. In the meantime, I dont have a safe vehicle to drive, as the chances of me getting rear ended are high. The vehicle stalls out 6 to 7 times every 40 miles.
My car is experiencing identical problems to recall # 19v515000. The gas tank has collapsed and purge valve has failed causing the car to stall. But, my VIN does not match the recall. Clearly, this recall has to be expanded to include other vehicles if I am experiencing identical failures. Ford has refused to do anything because the VIN does not match.
Somethings going on with the fuel injectors when I’m at a red light it seems like the car is ready to turn off. When the light turned green and I try to accelerate it jerks. . I went to for dealership (Ford) they stated it was the transmission brackets m, so I got that fix. But that’s wasn’t it so I decided to look up the recall information it shows that these cars have issues with the fuel injectors and the vacuum so ect. I keep putting it in the shop and they keep telling me different things and at this point I’m getting tired of paying money for something that isn’t the issue I call myself buying a car for my son to head off to college (upper state NY) 2nd year but I have to make sure it’s safe for him to travel I have been broken down thank god for triple a and at this point I’m out of options attach is a recall sheet that came with the warranty I’m looking to purchase.
The first incident occurred at a gas station. I filled my tank, turned my car on and put my car in drive as usual. As I took my foot off the brake, my car started to roll backwards. There was no dashboard lights on at this time. As I was driving home, the check engine light came on. I went home to research places to take my car to be checked. I left back out and when I started my car, the check engine light was no longer on. I restarted my car several times and drove back and forth to see if the light would come back on and it did not. The light did not come back on for about 2 weeks and when it did, my car stopped while I was driving. I was able to restart it but it was scary having my car stop while driving. I filled up my tank this morning and when I tried to start it, it did not start. It did start after a second try.
I was given engine codes p144a and p1450. Whenever I fill up my gas tank completely I have to turn the key multiple times to actually get the car to start. The lower the tank is before the fill up, the more times I have to turn the key to eventually get it to start. Everytime I turn and it stalls I pray that it doesn't blow up. It will make the quick triplet sound and then won't "vroom. " the component to be complained about is the engine/fuel system, and it is available for inspection upon request. Well for 1 I wasn't sure if this stalling would occur while actually driving, and based off of online research it could happen, and 2 as I said previously I was genuinely worried whether or not the car would blow up, let alone start. I have seen a recall regarding this issue to other cars with the exact same make, model, and engine type dating back to 2019, but for some reason the recall isn't covered under my vehicle's specific VIN. The component has not been inspected yet because I am hoping to find a way to have the recall cover my vehicle so I don't have to pay as much for it. There hasn't been an exact "failure" more of a problem with unknown consequences. The light first appeared probably about 6 months ago, but the initial engine codes I got (I have since gotten them twice more, the most recent being about a month and a half ago) indicated that the only problem I may experience was incorrect display of gas on the dash. I didn't notice it at all, so I figured it wasn't that serious nor a safety concern.
After completing door latch recall there is still an alert the the hatchback is open. And doesn't shut off. The dealer states that I have to pay for replacement since the recall shows complete. Except the instructions did not show anything in regards to this component , in regards to the fuel system, the dealer said I would have to pay for test to determine if the pcm would fix the engine ight after I took in for recall.
The transmission module, and transmission. While on freeway with my family car shut off while driving. Yes , yes , no there were no warning signs until after the jerking and shaking started after 39 days then the engine light came on. After that a that the sign said transmission over heating pull over and let car cool down. What was most scary is that it shut off while driving.
I purchased my vehicle October 14,2020 from day one every time, I put gas in it, it stalled to crank and you could smell a rotten egg smell. I would have to sit and wait and press the gas numerous of times before the car started. My driver side back door came flying open the same day and would not latch back to close. Here it is November 28, 2020 my car starts smoking really bad and now won't even crank up to drive. I paid 4,056 cash for a car I can't even enjoy.
Took my vehicle in for the recall on the door latches and they said everything was good and when l check the VIN on the NHTSA it states that recall incomplete. Also Ford had a recall my Ford Focus in my 2012 year about the evap l have had code p0456 in relation to p0456 evaporative emissions system - small leak detected. Ford supposely did a recall on this and supposely did work on my vehicle before l owned it, now it has same issue so l believe it was never changed out? I believe that recall was back in 2016 or 2017 or 2018?.
