1 Differential Unit problem of the 2016 Ford Focus

Failure Date: 08/01/2016

The contact owns a 2016 Ford Focus. While idling, the vehicle shook, a knocking noise was present coming from the engine, and oil from the engine was present under the hood. In addition, while driving various speeds, the transmission would slip into the next gear and a grinding type noise was heard coming from the differential. After starting the vehicle, the transmission would erroneously switch into the neutral position, causing the vehicle to roll away. The cause of the failures was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer (galpin Ford in van ayes, CA) were both notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 1,500.

2 Differential Unit problem of the 2000 Ford Focus

Failure Date: 11/16/2007

2000 Ford Focus with 30,000 miles. Differential blew up and destroyed the transmission. One year ago the struts had to be replaced in the front end. I understand these things are not normal occurrences especially with the amount of driving I do. I can't sell or trade in the car without repairing the transmission, estimate: 2,700.
