Door ajar light stays on constantly even when the car is not in use. The sensor will go off while driving and unlock all doors, even if the child safety feature is activated. Because of this message the dome(map) light on the inside of the car will randomly turn on and off. This also causes the battery to drain.

The fuel gauge reads wrong by atleast an 1/8 of a tank and and when it says you have 30 miles till empty you might get 10 miles before you run out of gas. It will not give you any warning when it runs out of gas it will start to suppder and then will not start until you put more gas in. And you can smell gas inside the car. It happens while driving or just idoling.

Ford Focus is highly vulnerable to electric defects in which indicators appear for a long period of time after being attained to, brake tends to slip unexpectedly, bluetooth has stopped working, usb ports,brake lamp faults. My main concern for other drivers and my self is the vulnerability to sharp turn and the crucial acceleration delays. These problems were attained to and maintained by Ford multiple times, problems occur within 1-2weeks after maintenance. I'm concerned even more about the performance and shaking at high speed as well that hasn't been revised.

From a complete stop to moving the vehicle has a little bit of shaking when going into first and second gear also the break light on the passenger side does not work but everything else with that light works.

Hatchback wiring harness between body and hatchback, has multiple wire insulation failure and wire breakage causing fuses to blow and non-functioning parking lights, reverse lights, break lights, instrument column lights, and uncontrolled release of electrical trunk while driving.

The tachometer and speedometer have a auto dim at night time . Can not read speedometer at dusk or dawn when driving under overhead led street lights that leave glare on windshield. Auto dimmer has no adjustment to brighten past certain brightness. Lights in other Ford vehicles work differently then Focus as bought 2017 escape and does not have this problem.

The back door locks on this car do not work. They say a lubricant was used to fix the recall issue, however, if that was the fix, it did not work and the locks should have been repaired. That Ford will not address this is insane to me, as door locks should not just go like that. The "fix" was not a fix at all. Also, the lights on this vehicle are horrible. It cannot be driven at night in an unlit area. There is no visibility. I was told once a recall was performed it was then done, however, I do not believe the lock was taken care of properly, therefore, I feel Ford should take care of this. I have applied the lubricant as they instructed to the doors and this does nothing. Neither door will stay closed & opens if driven. When this happened the first time, there was a child in the back seat. We were very lucky we were in a 25 mph zone and were able to immediately pull over. The doors have to be corded shut until a lock is installed. I do not feel I should have to carry the burden of this repair and do not understand how they say a lubricant can fix this problem. It is my opinion the locks should have been replaced during the recall, not just sprayed with a lubricant. I cannot believe I'm the only person with this issue. I feel that Ford saying this recall was completed is far from incorrect and they are responsible for making this right. Again, I understand once a recall is completed it is closed, however, I feel you should look into Ford having not really completed this recall, as the issue was not fixed. It should not have been closed. All they did was put a temporary band-aid on it and did not take full responsibility. What it comes down to is Ford took the cheapest way out at the time and did not truly fix the problem and did not take their full responsibility. Doors that were recalled and are not working were not fixed. I have had contact with Ford with no solution.

My car lost all electrical power, but was still running then finally it died. I lost all lights and electric battery was dead so I bought new battery then it happened again, so I bought new alternator because old alternator was bad, then new alternator died within a month. Same problem, then I went online and found a forum about the hatch back Focus and its wiring problem inside the protective sleeve. So I peeled back protective sleeve and sure enough there were exposed wires just like the thousands of posts from other people, this is very dangerous luckily I was able to pull my car off the road before it died, but with severity of this problem there needs to be a recall for this problem.

I've already had problems with the transmission (recall issue) that causes the grinding and jerking of the vehicle. . . And still have to address these. But just this week my blinkers started coming on (when I turned off my motor), and some alarm started sounding until I started up the car. Really, really concerned at this point! not a safe vehicle. My second Ford Focus (my 2003 was a dream!). . . Wondering what went wrong in the factory!.

All lights come on and the transmission jerks and hazing in moveing and the electric with the trunk and lights and the doors and the alarm. Been having problems for about a year.

Purchased vehicle 6 months ago from auto nation Ford union city, GA. First there was a problem with tire, then there is a problem with " brake lamp" then there is a major problem with " transmission malfunction". Car would not accelerate and stopped in mid traffic. Auto nation "said" they repaired as a result of recall, but I drove the car 8 hours after I picked it up from auto nation and car still having the same " transmission malfunction" problem, I could not accelerate, and car stopped on highway. In addition, the " brake lamp" message also flashed on the dash. I took car back to the dealer where it remains with auto nation Ford, union city, GA. The car is unsafe to drive. Furthermore, please investigate the dishonest service and sales practices at this dealership.

Bulb melts housing.

Took my car to the Ford dealership, for the 5time . To be looked at again for all the problems I am having and they stated they found the problem, like every time, with the shuddering and hesitation I was experiencing. They have reprogrammed, and replaced the clutch and computer and asked that I drive it again for a bit and see if the problem returns. The problems still remains the same, with no help from dealership, they just keep making excuses, refusing to face the problem, they told me after my 5th trip and waist of time to think about a new car, my car is barely even 11 months old. The last time it was service they didn't even put back in the oil plug, for an oil change I didn't even receive, my car is worst everyday, I have bought 4 vehicles mfri! this dealership and if they don't face the facts and fix it its going to be my last , I can't depend on my car , I don't want to be stranded and the safety hazards for these same issues are ridiculous, I should not have to feel threatened or afraid to drive my own car . Everytime I start !y car and start to go , I have to worry if !y car is going to get stuck in gear and accelerate or not stop at all, resulting in an accident or worse.

This is the third time I had to place front left and right head lamps and high beams . I brought this car off of enterprize dealer in nevade. Over the years I bgain havein lots of problems with this car. So much needed to be done on this car and I spent lots of money too. Not knowing untill now this car has some recall issues. Passenger rear door replace and broken again. The rear brake are rusted and needs to be replace,drums pads ext. . Noice in the stearing weel when I turn the car.

I was going to pick up my wife from work as usual. I am a very safe driver especially around corners. I was not driving more that15 mph when the car accelerated by itself. To avoid hitting a parked car I had to turn the steering wheel to the right. I went up on the driveway area. I hit a concrete wall portion or a driveway. Totaled the entire front right. Axle is broken. Air bag never deployed. Several months back they had to put in a brand new transmission. The car is just now 1 year old. It could not go up hills, park up hills. Transmission would turn off. Now it accelerated on it's own. My wife told me from the beginning this car is a lemon. I liked it so did not want to believe it! now I have to. I am still stiff all over. I have reported this to Ford auto body and my dealer. I hope they will be honest about all this. I do not feel I should be marked badly by my insurance or have my premium go up when this is not my fault. I hope Ford will at least help me out with a new replacement car for this lemon they sold me! now they will put through a claim on my insurance to repair the damage done to the wall. I hope my insurance premium will not go up. I should not have to held responsible for this when Ford has known about this problem for years and has many complaints. This I was not even aware of!.

When riding down the road the doors will automatically lock by themselves. The steering wheel has locked several times over the years. When I bought the car used, it came with many keys. Well, this time when it locked, the steering wheel locked and the ignition locked and I had to get it towed from smithfield nc; approximately an hourly from my home. The mechanic can not get it unlocked because the steering wheel has to be turned to unlock it, vice versa, and the steering wheel is locked. Also the lighting is very poor with the head lights and I see this on all the vehicle for that year and make as I ride down the road. My car is parked because I cant afford to fix it. I have found many complaints about this steering and ignition lock issue. I am wondering why this vehicle has not been recalled for the issue. It is a hazard. I have contacted the Ford manufacturer concerning the matter and was told that they can't assist me with it because my car has no warranty. Also, there was a recall on the real door lock. Ford dealership informed me that it was repaired by team Ford dealership prior to me owning the vehicle; I informed him that the problem was still a issue getting the rear door to lock securely at times. He informed me that it could only have been fixed once under the recall. These issues have occurred repeatedly since I bought this vehicle in 2009. They all put me at risk of great danger.

It started at on time when going to exit the stationary car, I could not exit the car because the lock would not unlatch, you could not open the driver or passenger doors from inside our outside. Now it has moved on to all the doors, sometimes they work and open sometimes they don't. I have replaced the driver door handle 3 times already for the same issue each time, in the handle latch itself there is a little plastic piece that keeps breaking inside the handle not allowing the handle to pull open the door. And now the last issue when taking off the locks automatically lock after a couple of seconds when driving sometimes they lock sometimes they don't. I can no longer lock my car when leaving it because you never know if and when the locks will open as well as which door will choose to remain closed and not open. . . . I have had to go in through the trunk several times quiet embarrassing. I have brought it to my local Ford company several times for them to fix the issue, they tell me it is my problem not a manufactures defect. . One door yes I could understand all four doors no there is a problem with the system. I believe this is a very serious safety issue because I can not always get my child out of the back seat because there is no guarantee that the door will open please look into this I have dealt with it long enough and can no longer continue to worry about my child's safety, my safety or the lack there of protection of not being able to lock my own car without knowing if I can get back in let alone someone else getting in. This has dated back to when my original warranty fell off.

Oil leak from rear main seal leaking onto cluthes. The car rolls back on hills and makes flapping noises. Also, at times it starts and stops like it's not getting gas.

I am wondering why the transmission light is coming on. I only have 780 miles on the car eventhough I bought the car Jan 2010. I am retired and only need the car to go food shopping and go on a few errands. I was sick in may 2011 and just started driving my car again to the store in Nov 2012. In Jan 2013 the transmission light comes on and I have not had any accidents or stalled on the road as of today. I am wondering if there is a recall for Ford Focus 2010. I received mail for recall on 2011-2013--but I have a 2010 Ford Focus. The car dealer told me to bring the car in--it's due for inspection in April and I plan on taking the car to the dealer in April unless I stall or find out that there is a recall. The wrench light comes on and I only drive at the most 25 city speed limit.

My 2013 Ford Focus hatchback, in the daytime you can not read the speedometer gage in the cluster panel. The gage lighting needs to be brighter. The speedometer gage is set back in the dash and the dim lighting make it very hard to see how fast you are traveling. We live in sunny florida and the bright sun during the day makes it very difficult to tell your mph. The instrument dimmer switch is adjusted to the highest setting. On a cloudy day or at night it is not a problem to see & read. I drove 2 other 2013 Ford Focus hb and they all have the same problem. The Ford dealer said there is no known fix. This is a serious hazard, if one can not clearly read the speedometer gage. I sure hope at some point in time, this can be corrected. Thank you.

Rear center mounted stop light failed and the trunk latch mechanism would operate while driving. The license plate lights failed shortly thereafter. The wiring harness has failed at the trunk lid junction. Wires are shorting together causing erratic operation.

Driving my 2004 Ford Focus, when I turn on the left blinker and it starts blinking very fast so I assume it needs a new bulb or fuse. I go to replace the bulb only to find that the housing unit holding the bulb for the blinker is melted. Now I have to replace the entire thing and this cost me $120. 00 dollars. Fast forward six months, not only is the left blinker out but now the right blinker as well, and guess what same problem not just a bulb but both housing units have melted and need to be replaced. Looked to see if there is a recall on this issue, since one, it is the material of the car the heat generated by the manufactures bulb and it continues to happen even when replaced with normal driving. Plus no blinkers is a huge safety issue. No recall! looks like Ford thinks melting car parts on their vehicles is normal.

1)there wasn't much leading up to the failure. It just happened. Not one, but both of the casings for our rear/brake signal lights melted. That meant that the lamp assembly, or hole, that the light bulb socket goes into, melted in both the left and right rear lights even though we never changed the bulbs before in our car. The casing, or lamp assembly, became warped after melting so that we couldn't even twist the light bulb socket to change the bulb. 2) this made it so that both rear/break lights do not work. 3) we took it to the dealership. This is incredibly frustrating. It should have taken us no more than $4 to buy and change a light bulb. Instead it took the $181. 89 to replace the left casing (lamp asy), bulb and socket asy. Dealer said problem might be due to driving in stop-and-go traffic and that he has seen this problem before in our car. We need to get the right/rear light fixed also, same problem. I contacted the customer relations division for the car company. They contend they are siding with the dealership that this is a stop-and-go traffic problem. They refuse to fix it and say it's not covered by my warranty. My concern is that there are all these people driving in cities whose plastic parts are incompatible with the heat of the lightbulbs. This is a safety problem as I don't know if this could cause a fire if plastic parts, like the casing, can't withstand heat.

First one: ignition locked. One night after classes, I went to start my car and the key would not go into or turn the ignition lock. I called my Ford warranty and they sent a tow truck. The tow truck driver informed me that he is familiar with the problem on the Ford Focus, as he had had many calls to pick up cars with the same problem. Second one: after returning home from driving to the store one Saturday, I parked as usual and tried to pull up my hand brake which would not go up or lock into place. I then noticed that the little button you push in the release the handbrake was located all the way into the assembly not allow it to lock. I plan on taking my car in November to be repaired. My Ford warranty will cover it since its a few thousand miles under warranty.
