The contact was attempting to add fuel to the vehicle, when he noticed that the fuel tank had detached from the vehicle and fell to the ground with a full tank of gasoline. The vehicle was towed to a private mechanic who replaced the straps. The contact did not in inform the dealer nor was the manufacturer aware of the failure. The current mileage was 99,944.
