Upon entering interstate highway 66, my car started jerking and the rpm gage was fluctuating and loosing power. A tractor trailer swerved and blew the horn. My car shut off on me in the right lane. I was able to restart and drive toward the shoulder and a warning light states “transmission overheating stop safely”. I took it to my certified mechanic and it read code p0460. When he lift the car, the gas tank is sunk in. Back in summer 2019 there was a recall on the “purge valve” and we notified them in 2020 that the car stared jerking and acting like it wanted to shut off. Again the code #p0460 same part and they said the warranty on the valve expired they can not reopen the recall. Now my gas tank is caved in and the car is stalling out on the highway getting worse. Ford motor company keeps brushing us off and not concerned about the safety of their vehicle.

Normal driving when accelerating or going on ramps onto the hwy. Also it happens when making left turns onto street etc. Car stalls, or the power gets caught off. This problem led to oncoming traffic car hit my car as the car stalled when I was making left hand turn. It occurs often when below 1/3 fuel tank of fuel. Ford had issued extended warranty on the fuel delivery module 10 years only since initial purchase date.

Everytime I try to merge into traffic my car loses power and sometimes dies. I have tried to keep my gas tank above half a tank bc it seems to run better when it is. But I cant always do that and as soon as it hits around a fourth of a tank it struts to mess up bad. . It feels kinda like a miss. It will start messing up and eventually start losing power. It has jerking movements when I push on the accelerator. I have tried to figure out why it has been doing this. . At first I thought it was the plus so I got those change and the plug wires that didn't help so the next guess was the catalytic converter got that taken off and checked it wasn't that. . I research and research and then discovered this website.

Car would start stalling at lights or stop sign. Then started shaking and jumping at lights and stop signs. Would have to put in neutral which did not help much. While driving would rpm high would have to take foot of gas so it would change gears, at the same time no power. At 1/4 tank while driving just stalls/wait & start again.
On or about 7/10/2007, my 2007 Ford Focus zx3 (one week in service, 400 miles odometer) leaked an unknown quantity of fuel onto the floor of the attached enclosed garage at my residence. The quantity of fuel spillage is unknown; however, the fumes were so strong inside the garage, that they contaminated my clothing to the degree that a "gas smell" was noted by a tow truck drive three hours after I was exposed to the fuel spill. The servicing dealer say that the fuel tank was split along the seam of the tank. The servicing dealer is in the process of replacing the gas tank.

My Ford VIN 1fahp3835yw335218 is having the symptoms as per NHTSA campaign id number: 03v482000 and meets the specifications of this recall, but Ford says that my car doesn't qualify for recall 03n01 because they say the recall is not mandatory and is not a safety recall. I'm driving a 2000 Ford Focus zts and after running the tank low on fuel, the engine is now hesitating and has a loss of power. I reported to the service tech that my car was having these problems and the circumstances that preceded the change in the car's performance. They said their computer's diagnostic of the situation didn't indicate a problem with the fuel delivery module.
When fueling gas tank, pump keeps shutting off. First reported 6-30-05 today took into maita Ford, auiburn and received information of a report: oasis ssm 18938 with no new information to fix problem. . Why?.
The day the problem began my car was idling very oddly. The rpm's would race up, like I was accelerating then the next second it seemed like the car was going to die. The car had over a 1/4 of a tank of gas in it. Then the car just quit while I was driving down the road. To find out it was completely out of gas even though the gas gage read 1/4.
: the contact stated while driving 20 mph the engine shuts off without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealership which determined when the gas gauge reads half a tank or below the engine shuts off. Contact stopped and turned vehicle off and when he tried to restart the vehicle it would start and then stall. The dealership stated that the Ford Focus 2003 cannot go under a 1/2 tank of gas. The contact insisted that he will continue to keep bringing the vehicle back until the problem is resolved. Not being able to let the gas tank go under a 1/2 is not right. There should have been a recall for this problem.

When exiting a corner or banked turn at any speed, the car will sputter and then shut off when gas levels approach 1/4 tank. The car will either coast and then regain power or completely die and come to a stop. At freeway speeds this is extremely dangerous to the occupants and passing traffic. The car will also sputter during bursts of quick acceleration.
