The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that there was a progressing grinding noise and that the steering wheel became difficult to turn in either direction. The vehicle was not inspected by a dealer. The vehicle was not included in a manufacturer recall for the power steering. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was notified and stated that the vehicle was excluded from a power steering recall for the 2011 and 2012 models. The VIN was not available. Tl- the contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving approximately 15 mph, while attempting to make a left turn the power steering seized. The vehicle's power steering became inopperable. A warning light illuminated however, the contact was unsure as to which warning light. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who diagnoised that the power steering rack system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure.
