1 Throttle problem

Failure Date: 09/25/2022

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle went into limp mode and stalled with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact was able restart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the contact was informed that the vehicle could not be properly diagnosed until the warning light was illuminated while diagnosing the vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated that he received a recall notice on the electronic throttle body and was concerned that while driving the vehicle would stall again. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 123,000.

2 Throttle problem

Failure Date: 06/16/2021

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power and would not accelerate more than 40 mph. The accelerator pedal would go to the floorboard when depressed however, the vehicle would not accelerate. The contact was able to restart the vehicle as the failure occurred intermittently. The contact had a code reader reading with the failure code p112 - throttle actuator body control stuck closed. The dealer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that he needed to pay for replacement of the throttle body and calibration. The vehicle was not diagnosed by the dealer nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that there were no recalls relating to the failure. The failure mileage was 144,866.
