Periodically will delay when shifted into reverse, then will engage hard, causing loud sound, slams into gear. Happened several times from the parked position backing out of a parking space, shifting from park to reverse. Also happened several times when stopping forward motion and shifting into reverse, shifting drive to reverse also has condition while driving that transmission would not shift out of low gear automatically or manually, needed to pull over to the side of road, and shut engine off and restart, transmission shifted correctly after restarting engine owned vehicle from new, delay shifting into reverse condition occurred periodically after about two years of service. The no up shift condition has only occurred once to date on 3/1/19.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. While driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle shook violently and lunged forward without warning. The contact mentioned that the transmission would slip out of gear sporadically and, on a separate occasion, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission was defective and needed to be rebuilt. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred four times.
