Transmission failure -transfer shaft failure caused destruction of the transmission TSB-18-2328.
Tl the contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. While attempting to drive the vehicle, the gear shifter remained in the reverse position. There was no warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was towed to courtesy Lincoln (located at 4010 ambassador caffery pkwy, lafayette, la 70503, (337) 504-7341) where it was diagnosed that the transmission cable failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was in the process of being repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in a recall. The approximate failure mileage was 173,000.
