The contact had to break the plastic gear shifter mechanism to place the gear into park. The vehicle was towed to malloy Ford of winchester (1911 valley avenue, winchester, va 22601, (540) 667-4434) and the gear shifter clutch was replaced. The repair did not correct the failure. A few weeks later, the contact was unable to shift gears.
