When putting the vehicle in park today with shifter, I removed the key, lifted my foot off the brake and the vehicle started rolling backwards. I applied the brakes. When turning the vehicle back on, it was stuck in "neutral" on the dash but the shifter is stuck in "park" and will not shift or move out of park. This is a known recall on Ford Fusions year 2014 but my VIN does not say it was part of that recall.

Used e-brake avoid rolling into vehicle ahead of me. This is known recall on 2013 and 2014 Ford Fusions manufactured at the hermosillo mexico plant, but my car manufactured in December of 2013, does not fall within the dates on the recall so I was required to pay for repairs, parts, labor, and a tow to the service center totaling $447. 12. Advised by bob allen Ford to file a complaint and/or contact Ford about the issue and request a refund.
Tl the contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the gear shifter became stuck in the park position and the vehicle continued to roll as if it were in the neutral position. During the failure, the gear shifter display also indicated that the transmission was in the neutral position. The vehicle was towed to mountain view Ford (301 east 20th street, chattanooga, TN) where it was diagnosed that the shifter cable bushing was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and did not assist. The contact was informed that the vehicle was not covered under NHTSA campaign number: 18v471000 (power train). The contact indicated that the vehicle experienced the same failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 110,293.
