1 Anti-theft Controller problem of the 2010 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 07/19/2019

I was driving 70 mph down the highway and my car just quit running. A few warning lights came on and I pulled over to the shoulder of the road. I was able to restart the car and merged onto the highway; the car quickly died again. I had the car towed home and was unable to start the car again since the anti-theft lock light was on. I had the car towed to a dealership and I am waiting to hear back from them.

2 Anti-theft Controller problem of the 2013 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 08/30/2016

I replaced my battery 2 weeks ago, because my car kept not starting with push start, this happened 4 times in July 2016. The push button would not start my car, and left me stranded 4 times, I got a jump each time. On 8-30-16 I picked my son up from school, and went back to my car to push start it, and all of the power is functional, except the a/c and the push start will not start. I called fariway Ford in burgaw, and they could care less, I am stranded. I researched this and it's saying it could be something to do with the anti theft system, or some type of module. My car only has 29,000 miles on it, and it's not under warranty. There has got to be a recall on this, it's a safety issue, what if it died while I was driving down the street. My brakes and steering are gone too. I can't depress the break, or turn the wheel without a lot of effort.

The contact owns 2012 Ford Fusion hybrid. The contact states that while driving approximately 30 mph, the brakes failed. The brake light illuminated after the brakes were applied. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a faulty wiring of the anti-theft system. The vehicle was repaired and the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 57,000.

4 Anti-theft Controller problem of the 2011 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 05/29/2014

While driving along the highway my gauges on the instrument panel went out momentarily, and then came back on with the message "service advancetrac. " I didn't think much about it because it went away when I turned my car off and back on. A couple weeks later (starting June 16th) the instrument panel kept going out every time I drove the vehicle, and multiple messages came up in the message center about getting my brake system checked and all four tire pressures were low. Along with these other message center malfunctions, the anti-theft security system was malfunctioning and not recognizing either key I have for the car. A couple of times it took 20 minutes of trying and hoping to get the vehicle to recognize the key. I took it in to the dealership, and now I have to pay $2000 to get my power steering module replaced. I am completely disappointed that my 2011 Ford needs to have its power steering replaced at not even 60000 miles.

5 Anti-theft Controller problem of the 2006 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 01/18/2013

The power locks, and interior door handles to open the door in both the front and rear/driver and passenger sides malfunction regardless of use/force. The interior door handle warps/bends and breaks. The locking mechanism also malfunctions making it impossible to open the door from the interior. In only way to exit the vehicle is to roll down the window and open the door from the outside door handle. Once the locking mechanism has malfunctioned, it is impossible to lock the vehicle via the remote alarm or with the physical key. This presents a major problem as 1:in the event that the driver and or passengers need to exit the vehicle it is impossible unless windows are rolled down. In the event that a crash or windows malfunction, all occupants are trapped in vehicle 2:the vehicle is without passive anti-theft as the doors are unable to lock.

6 Anti-theft Controller problem of the 2010 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 12/01/2011

While driving down a major highway at 69 mph with the cruise control on, the car just lost power. I first noticed the headlights went out, then saw the anti theft light illuminate. I tried depressing the gas pedal, but got nothing. Thankfully, I was able to coast out of the passing lane, into the right lane, and eventually to the side of the road without any tragedy. Once along the roadside, I put the car in park and turned the key to shut off mode. I then turned it back on, car started up fine. I took it to my regular mechanic, his code reader found nothing. Took it to the dealership I bought it from, they found nothing. It is now at a Ford dealership, but my guess is they will find nothing. I am on the road at least 4 out of 5 days a week on major highways. I cannot afford for this to happen again. I may not be so lucky next time.
