I was driving my 2016 Ford fushion the breaks hit the floor and wouldn't break any more I was around the corner from discount tire and service center and took the car to get serviced on 08/12/2020 they found all the fluid was out and the left brake hose was leaking they serviced my car replaced the hose refilled the fluid and returned my car the next day on 09/18/20 my brake pedal hit the floor again luckily I was parked as I tried to reverse I noticed the brake pedal wasn't working I couldn't drive the car nomore I had to call a tow truck. I took again to discount tire center and they noticed my right hose had popped they stated there is no reason why they should be leaking or coming off on such a new car it's a 2016 Ford fushion I'm concerned for my safety I'm scared to drive the vechile I've read a lot of complaints saying people have got into car crashes because of brake problems with the Ford fushion I've been very blessed I don't want nothing else to happen to me or anyone else on the road. Ford needs to take action into this problem this is a serious problem we are talking about innocent life's I've been lucky to have this problem and not crashing into anybody let's stand together and take action if you have any problems with your Ford fushion speak up! I'm going to look into everything I can do I'm worried for my safety I hope this does not happen again.
The brake hose ruptured while parked.
2015 Ford Fusion regularly serviced automobile with ~55k miles suffered a complete brake failure from a ruptured brake line. Auto repair shop indicates driver side line about to rupture (bubbling) as well. Phoned inquiry into Ford hq, no recall on record so they will not pay for any of estimated $850 repair. Ford case # cas-26820772. Vehicle was parked and stationary. Turned on car as normal, turned off electronic parking brake, backed up and started driving on a relatively flat and straight 25 mph city street about to enter highway 17 over santa cruz mountains. Pulled over when brake pedal moved all the way down to the floor with near zero braking ability. Car warning system did flash low brake fluid sign. Attached photo from repair shop shows complete brake line failure.
The brakes on my 2008 Ford Fusion once again nearly failed after activation of the abs and going down the interstate at 70 mph. This is the problem reported with recall/NHTSA campaign number 19v904. I know this is the case since this is the third time this has occurred on my car. I have paid for the last two replacements with one being a full replacement at a Ford dealer of around ~$600 and another that was able to be remedied by bleeding the brake lines until the hydraulic valve reset. I find it hard to believe that the NHTSA only has 15 complaints of this, but I guess that is the case when you have an obscure reporting procedure. I am able to find hundreds of complaints with a simple search. I am glad this has finally been recalled, but now we have to wait for Ford to drag their feet on saying parts are available. It is a shame that the NHTSA makes you enter all of your personal information in order to file a complaint. Perhaps you all should look into anonymous reporting.
Braking issue. While driving, twice last winter, I had to brake suddenly and I lost braking ability to stop in a timely manner. The pedal goes to the floor and is very slow to stop. It takes multiple times of pumping the brake to get any pressure back up to brake. I've had multiple shops look at it and have replaced the brakes themselves and they do not find anything wrong. The last shop had to bled the brake lines and found air bubbles in the lines that need to be bled out, which seemed to help. Fortunately, I have not had any accidents when this occurred but have come close.

Tl the contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. While the contact was at a drive thru, the brakes went out and did not stop the vehicle. The contact used the emergency brake to stop the vehicle. There was no warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was towed to mac haik Ford (713-932-5000, located at 10333 katy fwy, houston, TX 77024) where it was diagnosed that there was a failure in the front brake line. The vehicle was left at the dealer for repairs. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 49,800.
I was parked with my vehicle off. When I turned on my vehicle and put it in reverse to back out of my parking spot I heard a small pop and the brake pedal had a lot more "give" to it. I was able to push it all the way to the floor. While driving, I had to push it to the floor to slow my vehicle. I was able to safely make it to my mechanic who luckily was only 1 mile away. He told me the front right brake line was ruptured and that this is almost unheard of in a car that's only 4 years old.
Tl the contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. While the vehicle was making a u turn, the brake pedal was depressed to the floorboard and failed to stop the vehicle. The contact drove to a nearby parking lot and noticed that the brake fluid low warning message was illuminated. The vehicle was not able to be driven and was towed to an independent mechanic. The mechanic diagnosed that the brake lines needed to be replaced. The contact called world Ford pensacola (located at 6397 pensacola blvd, pensacola, FL 32505, (850) 476-9050) to notify them of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 69,375.
Operating under normal driving conditions vehicle brake paddle dropped to the floor when stopping at an intersection and vehicle took longer then expected to stop. Stopping at an intersection vehicle rolled into intersection. I was able to lay on the horn to alert other drivers and put on hazard lights. After roll at a stop I backed up slowly out of intersection and heard brakes cranking as paddle was depressed. After pulling over safely discovered ruptured brake line to forward left hand wheel and brake fluid sprayed on in side of wheel well. After towed to the dealership the service manger claimed he has seen multiple Fusions, foucs and escapes with simular issues and says this is normal wear. I told him I want the removed parts and will hold them if needed for further investigation.
I took my vehicle to mullinax Ford of olympia for a squeak during suspension jounce. They traced the problem to a brake line rubbing on the sway bar. They allegedly fixed the issue. On March 5, 2019, I experienced a complete hydraulic failure of the vehicle's brake system. The vehicle was towed to skyline Ford in salem, or for repairs and they found a brake line failure due to rubbing the vehicle's sway bar. I believe there is the potential for this to be a widespread issue and am requesting a full investigation due to the volume of Ford Fusion vehicles on the road and the severity of a brake hydraulic failure. The issue may be confined to "sport" models which may have a larger front sway bar than other Fusion models. My vehicle has over 50,000 miles which is abnormally high for a 2017 model year vehicle. As other vehicles of this type acquire the mileage my vehicle has, more may be subject to this type of failure. The sport model was not produced before 2017.
Back on 2/24/2019 I was behind a vehicle that had to slam in their brakes. I immediately slammed on my brakes and the peadle went to the floor. I took my car to planet Ford and was told that my right front brake hose had a weak spot in the line and busted. The only explanation was due to age? at the time the car was 4 years old and only 61,000 miles! the caused me to have a wreck and costing I've $3,500? this happened in spring, TX.
Brake pedal was pressed all the way to the floor board of the car and the car did not react well to stopping as my daughter approached a stop light. Scary nontheless. Normal braking worked after that one incident. Anyway we brouht to private mechanic to check things out and he did not find anything wrong with brake line or pads. Still scary to think this might happen again.
When stopping or slowing down (such as when approaching a stop sign or stop light) the brakes began feeling soft, "mushy," and braking distance seemed to increase. Bringing the car to a more abrupt stop required increased pressure on the brakes. I took the car to my mechanic for servicing. The mechanic "bled" the brakes and advised me the problem appears to be the hydraulic control unit (hcu) not closing properly and allowing small amounts of air into the brake line, causing the brakes to feel mushy and requiring more pressure than normal to stop the car. This condition has been documented to your agency previously as evidenced by this document: https://static. Nhtsa. Gov/odi/inv/2018/inoa-ea18002-5464. Pdf . My complaint is meant to add to you list of complaintants.
Front brake hoses ruptured 3 months apart. Left failed first. While stopped at a red light, the pedal gave way and traveled to the floor. Right failed today. While stopped in a fast food drive-thru line, the pedal gave way and traveled to the floor.
In my 2010 Ford Fusion sport, my brakes go soft and spongy any time the abs gets activated. Afterward, I have to push the brake pedal all the way to the floor to get any braking. If I pump the brakes several dozen times, it comes back to normal, but the main problem is when it unexpectedly goes spongy while driving. It is a collosal safety issue. I have had the dealership attempt to fix this several times by bleeding the brake line and changing out all of the brake fluid, all to no avail. On several Ford forums, it is allegedly a known issue with the hydraulic control unit. I am going to have it replaced, but Ford hasn't seen fit to issue a recall yet.
While driving my 2009 Ford Fusion at 25 mph, I came upon stopped traffic. The road was wet and a little uneven as I was crossing a short overpass but there was plenty of stopping distance. The abs activated. I held the brake pedal to the floor but the brakes did very little to slow the car until the car ran into the stopped traffic. At 25 mph, there was no concern that the car would not stop in time even with the abs activated, but it did not. There was no skidding or sliding of the tires. I believe that the abs module just did not apply enough pressure to the brake lines. I think this falls under pe 16-017.
Drive my car so I was in motion when I started to lose my brakes they went to the floor and I almost hit a car. Took it to mr tires to bleed air out of the brake line got it back from mr tires and I was in motion with my car and started losing my breaks, had a hard time stopping at a traffic light went through the light a little luckly the light had not turn yet for the other cars that were stop. Took it back to mr. Tires and they tried to solve the problem, still do not have my car they need to order the special part the abs module do not know how much this is going to cost because they also have to have a special tech come in and make sure it is calibrated right,. Why did Ford not put this on a recall there are a lot of complaints about this part some one is going to get hurt or killed with this happing to the Ford vehicles.
While driving my 2007 Ford Fusion approximately 35 miles an hour and approaching a stoplight, I applied the brakes to slow down and the car passed over a rough patch of road with several potholes. The brake pedal became soft and moved down towards the floorboard and the car coasted without continuing to slow down. After releasing the brake pedal and then applying the brakes again, the pedal was still soft and the car continued to coast and eventually came to a stop well into the intersection after the brake pedal was mashed to the floor. The soft brake issue continued as I drove the car to a repair shop to have it looked at. The repair shop has been able to remedy the fix by bleeding the brake lines but the issue has reoccurred over time and there does not appear to be a permanent fix made available. This is the fourth occurrence of this "soft brake" problem over the last two years. Each time it has occurred I have avoided a collision but worry that I may not be as lucky the next time this occurs. I purchased the vehicle new in July 2007 and had no brake issues until two years ago. Given that this is a recurring problem, I have done some research and noticed that others are beginning to have the same experience that I am and have reported it. I hope the NHTSA is able to investigate this issue and issue a recall that will make these vehicles safer for everyone on the road.

2012 Ford Fusion recall when coming to a stop sign, I went to put my foot on the brakes and my steering pulled to the right and I could not steer the car and the brake pedal went straight to the floor. There is no broken brake lines. When this happen it steered me into another car that was parked on the street. After the accident I did a safety recall through car max and found out that there is a safety recall 15n01 and 13n03, which showed that they were not done. So I went to the dealer ship that I brought the car from 6 months ago and they said no they did not do the recall only re-programmed the car 15s18b. I tried calling Ford directly but they said that there is nothing that they will do about it. Even after asking the question how can you just re-program medal and steering components? still yet I have no answers from anyone.

Vehicle was stopped in front of a residence and in park with foot on the brake pedal. Suddenly and without warning the brake pedal went to the floor. Upon inspection, there was brake fluid inside the engine compartment and dripping on the street below. Vehicle was deemed undriveable and towed to the mechanic. Problem was diagnosed as a brake line failure where the line itself was intact, but the rubber hose had come loose from the crimped metal fitting. Attached photo show the section of hose that had come loose.
