Was driving down parkway when came up on my exit it was hard to make the turn to even go up. The exit ramp the power steering light and the advanced track light and brake system. Light all came on flashing across the message screen one after another. Thank god I was able to get vehicle pulled over to shoulder and had it towed home. Also needs airbags replaced due to recall! I have contacted two local Ford dealers trying to get an appointment. Also messaged one through their website. On the phone calls I was placed on hold until the phone to shut off. Tried to call back and they just said please hold and put me right back on hold and I’ve never received a message back.

On [xxx] when leaving a shopping center parking lot, the brake system suddenly failed. I was able to press hard on the foot brake to stop the vehicle near the middle of the intersection. I pulled over to a parking space and replicated the issue. The car was towed to west 40 auto care on 284 montvue lane in frederick, MD. Today, they told me they could not fix the issue. I made an appointment with the Ford motor company on 1 waverly drive for 9/15. I drove the car home slowly (about 1 mile) with the emergency lights on and going about 10 mph. Pressing hard on the foot brake will slowly stop the car. Abs icon and service advance trac appear on the dashboard. Yesterday, the brake and wrench lights were also on. The footbrake does not go all the way to the floor. This issue is of course dangerous and might have caused an issue if I had to brake suddenly on a busy road at a higher speed. The issue appears to correspond with the link at [xxx] and summarized at [xxx] . I did not previously receive a recall issue in 2020. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Brake pedal goes to floor and stopping time is poor. Brake inspection leads to fault as possibly master cylinder or hcu. Master cylinder replaced and issue not resolved. The date range and manufacturing location matches NHTSA recall 19v904000 related to hcu valve issue but my VIN is not indicated. The vehicle is from the hermosillo plant inside the date ranges indicated.
I have been having issues with my 2008 Ford Fusion. I did research and found that the is a Ford customer satisfaction program( campaign # 21n11) which also goes along with recall number 19s54 and Ford is refusing to fix the issues. Their lots of complaints and somethingd needs to be done ASAP before someone gets hurt cause this has to do with the brakes.

Speed sensor radar on right front tire sending alerts to car all at once — antilock brake fault, pre collision assist not available, hill start assist. Steering wheel gets heavy randomly. And brakes start slipping. This is a safety hazard I have a baby. My car is only 5 years old problems like this shouldn’t be happening. Ford checked it and said it’s a speed sensor but would cost $450 that’s not a fair deal. And those sensors shouldn’t show all at once randomly. I barely drive my car. I have 57,000 miles on it. Happens randomly.

My cars brake lights will not turn off and while pressing on the gas to accelerate today 8/26/25, the braking system randomly just slows my cars down while I’m driving. The brake pedal bumper was previously recalled for the Ford Fusion as told to me by Ford mechanic. But because my VIN isn’t associated with the recall metro Ford stated they could not fix the problem and I was sent back out on the road with a known recall issue.

My car's brake pedal started not working properly. When trying to brake, the brake pedal goes down further than what it is supposed to and it takes longer than normal to brake, causing almost wrecks. It happens suddenly when trying to brake sometimes and it is very scary. There was a previous recall on the brake lines and it said they needed to be flushed out and all. I had this done to my car before and thought everything was okay. But it is not. I called Ford and they said there is currently a customer satisfaction program that covers the repair of the hydraulic control unit but it is limited to vehicles under 15 years old. My car is 16 years old so it does not qualify for this program. I asked why this wasn't a recall because it is such a big safety issue and they stated they couldn't make it a recall, it would have to be reported and issued from NHTSA. If the brakes/brake pedal is messing up and this is a known issue, then the vehicles' age should not matter. It should be recalled and fixed because this is such a huge safety concern and obviously a defect when manufactured. I don't have another car to drive and I'm sure there are numerous others in this same position and I feel it is imperative that this be looked into further and issued as a recall so people can remain safe and I'm sure this would save lives. I almost ran into a car today and it is extremely hazardous. It is very dangerous and scary and there is no warning light or anything indicating anything is wrong until driving it and it randomly happens. I have taken care of my car and had the previous recalls fixed but Ford knows this is an issue and very dangerous so it seems clear this needs to be issued as a recall.

The vehicle wheels and steering wheel bounce and shake when brakes are applied, regardless of the speed level; this felt like I am losing control of the vehicle and as if the wheels, and components of suspension or brake system will collapse all of the sudden. No warning lights came up in the dashboard. The vehicle was inspected by the dealership (kearny mesa Ford service, 7303 clairemont mesa blvd, san diego, CA 92111) and they confirmed the problem, the problem still persisted after they performed checks and repairs, their response was "we are not sure what's causing the problem and we need more time to diagnose. ".

I have recall 19s54 and called Ford. They made an appointment with downtown Ford, charleston, wv. The dealership said Ford declined my recall repair due to not being able to get their machines to get any codes from my car. The abs light is on. My mechanic said Ford should fix their recall. The recall says the d03 fluid must be changed to dot 4 even if no problem found and if problem detected how to fix it! Ford declined because they can't get code reader to work on my car. They said it is a preexisting condition! my car is old but only has 24,800 miles and has been kept inside in a heated garage. The downtown dealership said their hands are tied and would love to make my car safe. Their phone number is 304 344 1601. Please help me get my car fixed!!! I have called Ford multiple times and no help due to not having the codes from the dealership. Thanks!!!!.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving and approaching a stop sign, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to slow down as intended. The brake pedal was pumped several times for the vehicle to slow down. The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road and parked. The vehicle was then towed to an independent mechanic, where it was determined that a valve in the junction box needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred 20 days later. The vehicle was then towed to the same independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the abs junction block and module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired because the manufacturer had no parts available. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 112,000.
A previously recalled issue has reoccurred in my vehicle. I’d like to report it and understand my options moving forward. My brake light is on and will not go off! message appearing “hill assist not available”.

I own a 2016 Ford Fusion and the brake pedal stop bumper disintegrated and fell onto my floorboard. As a result, my brake lights stayed on, draining my battery. When I tried to drive, my car would not accelerate over 20 mph, and I barely made it home safely. I where it's extreme humid and salty air are constant, the same conditions identified in Ford’s 22s02 recall. Ford has stated my vehicle is not included, but this is a clear safety hazard identical to the recall issue. I request that NHTSA investigate and include my vehicle in the 22s02 recall.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed and traveled to the floorboard. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the hecu fuse and abs unit had failed, and the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the nhsta hotline for assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 190,000.

When my wife returned home from shopping she parked in the driveway I was going out so I had to move her car to get to mine. I saw a puddle of brake fluid on the ground and the brake light was on there was no fluid in the master cylinder . The car was towed to my mechanic and he found a rotted brake in the rear of the car up between the gas tank and rear seat right under a rubber clamp that holds the line this could have caused a tragedy. I connected Ford they said rusted brake lines are not covered even though they are coated.

There is a recall date on this car dating back 2021. I bought this car in 2024. The recall problems was never addressed or fixed. This had created an electrical error in the car, given no airbags, and windows do not roll, nor does it give accurate reads on tire pressure. Unbeknownst of all this, a tire popped nearly cause me to wreck on I-5 early 2024. I have documentation supporting the sale of the car, the replacement of tires, oil changes, repairs & towing incurred all on behalf of this car. I would not have bought it knowing there was a recall that was not addressed. This car is a rebuilt title that has been in accidents.
On June 23, 2025, while departing my residence, I disengaged the emergency brake on my vehicle, subsequently hearing an unusual sound. Upon attempting to drive, I experienced diminished braking performance, and the brake warning indicator illuminated. The following day, I sought a professional assessment at big o tires. Their diagnosis identified a failure in the left brake hose, recommending the replacement of both. Following their recommendation, I proceeded with the necessary repairs. Subsequently, I received notification of a manufacturer recall addressing this specific issue. Consequently, I am seeking reimbursement for the previously completed service. Despite my attempts to obtain a resolution through direct communication, I have yet to receive a response, and I am now seeking assistance in this matter.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the vehicle was idling roughly with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who suggested that the spark plugs be replaced and a tune-up be performed based on the mileage. The dealer performed the spark plug replacement and tune-up, and the check engine warning light was no longer illuminated; however, the vehicle was still idling roughly. The vehicle was returned to the dealer, who diagnosed the vehicle with coolant intrusion into the engine. The contact was informed that the engine had failed and needed to be replaced. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the rear brakes and rear brake rotors needed to be replaced due to a brake fluid leak. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed of NHTSA campaign number: 23v162000 (service brakes, hydraulic); however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and opened a case. The manufacturer informed the contact that the VIN was not under recall or special programs for the repair. The failure mileage was approximately 73,000.

My brake fluid line ruptured and the dealer refused repair and told me that even if they did repair it I would take 2 days and wouldn’t provide a loaner/rental so I had took to a different shop that I had to pay out of pocket for and was done in an hour. And also this is a recall for my year make and model and isn’t on my VIN.

I was driving on the highway in my car stop going then it start rolling backwards a little then I hit the breaks then put in park in put it back in drive then it started driving again then my brake lights came on and didn’t go off for about a week I have to unhook the battery I have a 8 year old son I was on the way to the hospital because my grand father was on life support when all this took place there was trucks going around us we almost got hit my three car thank god I made it home safe then I got. Home in my car just keep getting load as if I’m hitting the car there’s a load sound it makes when I start it up in I dont feel safe driving it … when out it being check out I really need some one to look at it.
There have been only been 3 instances that my abs has activated in the past 4 years. During all 3 instances of the abs activating, the abs motor turned on for less than a second and then the brake pedal went soft and all the way to the floor. After this moment, I had little to no braking power. The pedal remained soft until the very end of the pedal travel. The brakes were very shifty and I had to have a shop bleed the abs unit and lines. The first instance (2019) I had to swerve around a vehicle that blindly crossed traffic. I slammed on the brakes, abs motor activated for less than a second and the pedal went to the floor and I did not slow down. I had to drive through someone's yard on the other side of the intersection because I had no brakes. The second time (2022) I was on the highway on a 2,500 mile road trip. In utah, there was a rain storm (unusual) and the passing lane on the highway began gathering water. I hydroplaned and used the brakes to slow down. Same story - abs briefly activated and the pedal went to the floor. I was able to slow down eventually by letting off the brake and gas and dealt with soft, ineffective brakes for the remainder of the trip. The third time (2025), I dodged a pothole only to hit another one I didn't see approaching a stop sign, and this activated the abs very briefly, sending my pedal to the floor and losing braking. I was in the middle of the intersection by the time I stopped. There were no other cars around as it was a rural area. I had a shop nearby evacuate the abs module both times and they discovered air in the unit. I simply cannot believe there hasn't been a recall on this, especially with all the reports made.

I have a 2010 Ford Fusion. Two days ago I was backing out of the parking lot and I had to brake hard to avoid a fast moving car zooming past behind me. After that I noticed the brake was very mushy and I have to press the brake almost to the floor to get the car to stop. I did some research on the internet and found out it was a common problem with Ford Fusion between 2006 and 2010 and there is a safety recall 19s54 for the 2006-2010 Ford Fusion. Ford also has an internal customer satisfaction program 21n11 that covers the repair of the said issue. However, the recall only covers cars manufactured between February 22, 2006 through July 15, 2009 and my car was manufactured in Dec 2009 and was not included on the recall list. Obviously the problem was not fixed for Ford Fusion manufactured after the 7/15/2009. I have seen many similar complaints on the net and some have indicated that they have filed nhsta complaints for the same issue. I contacted Ford and see if they will fix the problem with my car as a goodwill gesture even though my car was not on the recall list. They absolutely refused to take responsibility. I think it is a serious, serious safety issue for the driving public and Ford should be told to extend the 19s54 recall cut off date to cover any vehicle that experienced this abs/hcu braking problem and fix this manufacturing defect.
I got a letter from Ford awhile ago about my brakes. I brought it in then they stated I was fine. But you have to push my brake peddle all the way to the floor of the car to make my vehicle stop. I feel this is very unsafe for me and my family, and also others around me if something where to happen do to this problem. We have done multiply things to try to correct the problem with no luck.
Right front wheel speed sensor replaced and problem continues due to pigtail coming from wiring harness that connects to top portion of wheel speed sensor water enters the connector and short circuits the abs system causing the car to disable abs, traction control and power steering all light illuminated as well.

Accident caused by brakes slipping and failing to stop even when pushed all the way down to the floor. Air bags failed to deploy. Resulting in a total loss estimate after accident.
Abs control module valves stuck open and or closed. Leading to no brakes/ brake pressure. Same issue and part that was recalled on 2006-2009. 5 models. Issue has been inspected by Ford dealership in tigard oregon (landmark Ford/Lincoln). Part was removed and sent to a 3rd party shop to be rebuilt per landmark Ford and was unable to do so. There was 2 or 3 dash lights that came on along with no brakes. The issue first happened [xxx]. Dealership told me they had another vehicle in the shop at the same time with the same issue. Luckily the issue presented itself the morning of [xxx] as my wife was attempting to back out of her parking spot. She was able to pull the e-brake before the car got away from her. I was driving under the posted speed limit on a road near my house going to pick my kids up from school. I was approaching a stop sign at an intersection and began to press on the brake pedal. The pedal traveled all the way to the floor as I was coming yo the stop sign. A driver was approaching me from the left headed east and my car went into the street past the stop sign and the other driver hit me which in turn caused his vehicle to roll over and mine was damaged as well which turned out to be totaled. The brakes began to work again right as the gentleman hit me. I never knew about the recall and when that happened I got onto the web and out in my VIN and saw it was recalled. I need to know what’s going to be dealt with here!.
