Front Air Bag Sensor Control Problems of Ford Fusion

I was driving on the highway and all of a sudden a wrench sensor popped up along with the airbag sensor and the car starting DE-accelerating and shaking and I had to pull over. I went to a mechanic and they said that the throttle body was dirty so they cleaned it and they cleared the code but it recently happened two more times. When it happens it makes the car not able to start as easily. It's really dangerous because it makes it to where the car will just not accelerate and if you are on the highway there are cars flying right past you. This has happened a total of 3 or 4 times.

On December 1st I was driving my Ford Fusion 2 the actual Ford dealership to get a look at their field service action that they had posted on my Ford app. While on my way I was stopped at a light on columbia drive in portland oregon and I had thought my foot slipped off the brake initially but actually would happen if my car had accelerated and to the gentleman in front of me causing a car accident. My insurance company would have nothing to do with it I tried to contact Ford the dealership that I normally go to to see if they could repair the front-end of my Ford Fusion that was demolished and also no airbags went off as I had just got my car out of the shop at Ford for a recall on the airbags my fiance was with me so there was definitely cause for concern fortunately nobody was hurt but like I said my car was demolished on the right passenger side front end I couldn't figure out why my car accelerating on its own so looking into it the explanation that I came up with was definitely the electronic throttle body motor and all I want is my car returned back to its prior condition I have no other vehicle I don't know who to contact I did contact Ford and was referred to a bigger Ford company if someone could help that would be amazing I'd appreciate it. . . Also no warnings or sensors went off in my vehicle I do have the sel package and once again no airbags were deployed and for the amount of damage that was done I was very surprised.

1. Air bag sensor stays on, as if I have a malfunctioning unit that will burst at any time. No matter what I do, it always stays on. There is no way to turn the sensor or the airbags off, so I cannot disengage them and keep them from exploding unnecessarily. 2. The transmission does not shift properly. It is jumped when automatically shifting between third and fourth gear as if there is not enough fluid to allow for a smooth transition.

Air bag sensor came on and will not go off. It isn't working properly. The airbag sensor light comes on and stays on, regardless if there is a person in the seat or not. Passenger air bag seems to be showing off all the time. I'm concerned that they aren't working properly.

Had my oil change/tire rotation done on 08/01/19 and was told I had to get new lug nuts as they were swollen & misshapen. Cost of $200 to change them. I thought this is WI, winters are harsh so ok. Apparently this is not new according to this website. Also have no working airbags as a sensor for the seatbelt is not working. To fix that will be $300+ but I refuse to pay for this as there is a recall in place for that also!! we are loyal Ford customers and to find out Ford knows about this is infuriating. We are now looking to trade this Fusion in (only 75k miles on it) but do we go with another Ford or a different make. To have to even ask this question astounds me. Ford - fix the problems!!!.

Have yet to receive a notice of the takata airbag recall and now my light is flashing on while driving. I've had 2 diagnostics done on my car before I fixed the issue and after I replaced the abs sensor on my left front wheel and I'm still getting the same codes for my abs, service traction control and hill assist lights. I have had my brakes replaced thinking that was an issue because my pedal is depressing to the floor while in motion and feels like it won't stop when turning to park. What else am I to do?.

I have numerous complaints/recallson this vehicle. Everything from the transmission, to the radiator, coolant, steering wheel colmn, and now the air bag sensor is lit as 'on'. I believe this is not a takata recall, however it is, what I believe just another recall waiting to happen. When the car is a lemon,why should I be charged to have anything diagnosed to see the 'cause' of any problem?.

I love my car but it has had many recalls. One of the recent ones is concerning the airbags. Less than 6 months later the airbag sensor is on for no apparent reason and the dealership wants to charge an arm & a leg. I've read many reviews if this happening to other Ford Fusion owners. This cannot be a coincidence.

Upon remedying the recall, to adjust the affected "passenger side" airbag, whereas the finalized maintenance resulted in the Fusion's diagnostic fault code, of which has delayed the absolution of passing an inspection this sensor hasn't "ever" illuminated 'til after the repair was completed it remains "on" whether a passenger is in the seat or not.

My wife and I gave this car to our daughter when she got her drivers license in 2016. Since then there has been a recall on the airbags that has not been fixed because they are on back order. The temperature sensor has gone out and Ford is aware that is a problem but will not recall, and now 3 times the steering has locked up on her with an error message that reads "power steering assist fault". In reading various articles there was a recall but for some reason my car having a 3. 5 liter was not in the recall, not real sure what engine size has to do with power steering. Fortunately all 3 failures occurred in our drive way while she was backing out and she turned the car off and started it back up and the car corrected itself. I am in fear for my daughters life at this point, even though she has 2+ yrs of driving experience who is to say that if this happens when she is driving down the road she will know how to react without harming herself or someone else. Ford needs to own up and fix their defective vehicles ps. This Ford only has 45,000 miles on it. Ralph nader, we need you!!!!.

This vehicle is at 48800 miles and I started to receive the following warnings/errors on my dashboard when the problems began: "hill hold assist not available", "service advancetrack", abs fault and airbag failure sign lights remain while I was driving the car. After these warnings I lost power steering assist and pulled over and restarted the car. However the warning signs did not clear and I lost abs, traction control and airbags. I have contacted with a Ford dealer to diagnose the problem. Error codes they got from the car were c0031 and u0401. The first one is related to a short wire in the abs wheel speed sensor at the driver side front wheel and this part was replaced at the dealer. However, after replacement all the mentioned warnings/errors remain and u0401 code remained. Dealer does not know whether these are just from communication error from the computer or these parts are actually defective. I am not able to use the car right now. In any case, all of the affected systems are not related with drivers driving habits, storage conditions and other things related to the usage of the car and seems like a manufacturing problem, even if it is a communication error or wiring problem. And the affected components are vital so if there is a production error, this should be resolved as soon as possible.

Tl- the contact owns a 2009 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle the air bag sensor light would remain illuminated. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer germain Ford in columbus ohio were both notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 107,000. Jft.

Wear or corrosion on the front speed sensor hardness led to the disabling of all traction/stability control, rear park assist, abs and airbag operation.

Notified in 2015 of the defect in air bags . The local dealership here in columbus ms did inspect the defect and repaired it. This had another problem air bag sensor would not go off stayed that way of several months nothing was done about it. Is the air bags safe on this car. The air bag sensor would not go off.

The passenger seat air bag sensor turns off, even when there is a passenger present if the seat is high or if the seat is forward. It happens when when the car is being driven uphill, downhill, flat road and stationary.

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. While operating the vehicle, the air bag sensor remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the passenger seat air bag was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 28,000.

The airbag sensor light keeps coming on. I have taken it to a dallas hardy Ford (paulding county georgia), where it was purchased, twice to have it fixed. They say it is fixed and then it comes on again. Last year in January it came on again. This time I had firestone in mechanicsville, va look at it. They said that there was nothing wrong with anything except there was a bunch of "gunk" on the connectivity wires. They scraped them off and the sensor light went off. However, it has come back again. I am not if the airbag works on or not. Dallas hardy Ford tells me because it is out of warranty they will charge me a huge sum of money to even look at it. This has been going on since 2014.

The occupant weight sensor failed in the passenger side seat, responsible for air bag deployment. The canister purge valve got stuck causing stalls when starting after refueling and stalls off the line starts putting the car/passengers at risks during turns crossing oncoming traffic, started at 56,000 miles.

Tl- the contact owns a 2007 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the passenger side dashboard had raised over the position of the air bag cover. The contact also indicated that since the failure had occurred the air bag sensor light would intermittently illuminate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who indicated that the dashboard would need to be replaced. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 97,000 jft.

My 2008 Ford Fusion purchased brand new also has the bulging dashboard on the front passenger side. It not only looks bad but who knows if the air bag will even deploy in a front end crash? I have also has catalytic converter replaced and today I need a new output speed sensor to the tune of another $500 in repairs. Car now has 130k mi.
