Warning Light On Problems of Ford Fusion - part 1

I was driving down the road and all of the sudden a warning light alerts appeared and said power steering assist fault. Then the car suddenly because very difficult to turn. Followed by traction control warning. I have service the vehicle as required and have records it has been serviced in a timely manner for its life time.

A few weeks after having recealls performed for the steering and airbag issues, I was driving on the freeway and got a warning light(attached) that said "steering fault service now". The steering bacame slightly sticky but still drivable. After reacbing my destination and restarting my car, I then received the same fault light as well as traction control, and airbag lights. I have had zero issues with this vehicle as long as I've owned it prior to it being at the dealer for the recalls. The steering was now almosy inopperable and required alot of strength to make any turn left or right. While luckily the steering got very bad on side streets, this could have resulted in some serious injury or problems if it happened on the highway I feel. This vehicle is just only 4 years old and I have a hard time believing that the steering mechanism should be faulty already. I unfortunately do not have warranty on this part of the vehicle so I am now left with a $2500 bill to repair a sealed rack and pinion assembly that doesn't (to my knowledge) require any maintenace. I had started my car one morning and noticed some "dummy" lights had not gone off. I then got a notice about "hill side assist not available" that was weird as I was on a flat surface. Then I also got a notification that said "service advancetrak". The warning lamps that stayed illuminated are abs, front airbag, stability control, and stability control off lights. While I drove off, the steering was affected as well, it wasn't like I had no power steering, but it was definately more difficult to steer. I got to work, called the dealer, made an appointment for my car to be looked at. Which was thenext day. When I went back to my car after work, the warning lights and notifications did not appear. The next day, went to the car, going to work, all the lights appeared again. Car went to the shop and was told the speed sensor and hub need to be replaced. The total cost is $635. 00 for repairs. I have seen lots of complaints of this sort for my year of car. I believe a recall should be issued.

The air bag warning light will come on, will stay on until you cut the car off, but then it may not come back on next time. It's inconsistent. Sometimes it stays on while the car is running, sometimes it goes off a few seconds after cranking like it is supposed to do.

Tl- takata recall the contact owns a 2012 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while her daughter was parking the vehicle she noticed the air bag warning light illuminated. When the contact attempted to disengage the warning light she was unable to turn it off. The contact called the dealer (sheehy Ford Lincoln of richmond 10601 midlothian turnpike, richmond, va 23235) for repairs being that the airbag was serviced in March of 2019. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was not notified of the defect. The approximate mileage on the vehicle was 26,000 tp.

The contact owns a 2007 Ford Fusion. The vehicle was repaired under NHTSA campaign number: 17v024000 (air bags) at parkway Ford of lexington (98 us-64, lexington, nc 27295). After retrieving the vehicle, the contact noticed that the air bag was not secured inside the air bag housing. The contact informed the dealer of her concerns and was informed that the vehicle was okay to operate as-is. The contact stated that after a couple of months, the dashboard started to raise and she could see a large bump. The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to parkway Ford of lexington (98 us-64, lexington, nc 27295) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the air bag needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

Vehicle displayed airbag warning light. After Ford inspected the vehicle they stated that the defect was in the driver's seat belt buckle and that it would need to be replaced at a cost of $400. Ford stated that the defect would not allow the air bags to deploy. I asked for my vehicle back but had to pay $89 for diagnostics. Took vehicle home and removed driver belt buckle and discovered wire broken at base of buckle (see attached images). This defect that will not allow airbags to deploy and involves a broken wire in the belt buckle should be a safety recall. Otherwise, what will happen is all the vehicles that have broken wires will not get fixed and the only defense is the seat beat alone.

The contact stated that shortly after receiving the letter and while driving 30 mph over a railroad track, the brake pedal was depressed to the floorboard but failed to completely stop the vehicle. Atchinson Ford was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the brake pads, rotors, and the calipers. On September 18, 2018 I drove to a rutter's and when I started to drive home the power steering went out. I turned my car off and then on and a warning light referring to the steering came on. I called apple Ford dealership in york, PA and brought my car in the next morning. They confirmed that the steering rack had to be replaced. The repair cost was $2,200, which I ended up paying. After researching this issue I discovered that the same issue was recalled on the 2011 Fusion but not the 2010. Also I've been waiting for the part for the takata recall. Since I needed a rental while my car was being fixed they put me in a long term rental since the airbag part hasn't come in yet. I'm hoping they will recall the steering rack for the 2010 Fusion as well.

Started car and noticed warning lights for abs, airbag and stability control illuminated also noted system check warnings for service advance trac, check rear park air and hill start not available. As I drove car I noticed power steering was not working as it should, turning vehicle required more effort and steering was stiff. When coming to a stop I noted the brakes seemed to lock.

The contact sustained arm, leg and eye injuries that required medical attention. The front passenger also sustained face, chest, leg and eye injuries but did not required medical attention. Due to the failure, the contact had the vehicle towed to simi valley Ford(2440 first st, simi valley, CA 93065) where it remained in their possession due to NHTSA campaign number:19v904(service brakes, hydraulic); however the parts remained unavailable. The contact also stated that he had experienced multiple brake failure due to the brake recall. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 18v046000 (air bags) however, the part needed for the repair was not available. Takata recall !!!!!!! the display panel warning lights come on and go off at will. Mostly when its humid outside or raining. This is including the scary airbag light, oil light, engine light. I am stuck with the car since Ford stated no one should sit in the front passenger seat. Has no value. And I pray every day it does not kill me!.

Took Fusion in for recall 16s42 concerning seatbelt pretentioners on 08aug17. No airbag warning light was illuminated on the dash, when we went to pickup the car the light was on. The dealership had not seen the light and refused to check out the problem before my wife left the dealership. I believe that durango motor company, durango colorado should have taken responsibility of checking the system.

Air bag warning light keep showing. I tried to contact nearest dealer but they said no part to replace airbag. I wait a year to fix this issue. This is safety concern, do something.

Summer of 2016 the warning light for air bag came on. Oct 20 2016 took the car into dealership. They had the car for two days, never mentioned any recall, needed the car for the weekend, they wanted me to pay for the part in advance before ordering it. Do not recall how warning light appeared on the the dash board.

The manufacturer was also contacted and confirmed that the parts were unavailable for the repair. And that they would received a letter to inform when the parts were made available. The contact mentioned that the air bag warning light was illuminated and that the passenger of that seat is a senior and unable to sit in the rear. The manufacturer informed the contact that the dealer would be able to provide a loaner vehicle, however the dealer informed the contact its up to the manufacturer. The dealer stated that they could diagnose the vehicle for the light but it was not diagnosed due to the diagnostic fees. VIN tool confirms parts not available. Jb.

Takata recall the airbag warning light came on in the vehicle when the vehicle was in motion. I took it to garage and they replace some parts with the but were unable to fix airbag problem. I paid $411. 00 for this service. I called Ford when I received the recall notice in July 2016. They stated they did not have the parts available to fix the recall. I took it to the same Ford dealer and they did not have replacement parts to fix it. This was in November 2016. I was told I would hear from the dealer when parts became available. Under the passenger seat. The light remains on. I have never heard from Ford dealer and my call not returned.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2009 Ford Fusion. The contact received NHTSA campaign number: 16v384000 (air bags) however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. In addition, the contact stated that the air bag warning light was illuminated. The local ballentine Ford dealer located at 1305 SC-72, greenwood SC, 29649 was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that parts were not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

The contact owns a 2007 Ford Fusion. While driving 37 mph, the air bag warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.

Abs lights, traction control lights, throttle body control lights, air bag lights, emergency break lights, rear right break lights all come on my dash, it is at random times, first starting the car up, driving it for 2 minutes or even up to 10-12 minutes. Speed, weather or making a turn or just going straight does not matter. Warning lights can go off every day multiple times or as lttle as once a week. You can feel the streeting get very tight, its hard to even make a turn which is not very safe. Had my vehilce in the shop for 25 days straight. Was told the issues were fixed and withint 7 hours of picking my car up all the same lights came on.

Tl- the contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that there was a random failure progressing in which the key would not turn over to start the vehicle. The contact had to make numerous attempts and or disconnect the battery to get the vehicle to start. The contact was also included in NHTSA campaign number: 14v597000 (air bags) but the dealer stated the part was not available and an appointment would be scheduled November 2nd, 2015. The contact was told that as of now the recall repair was not required due to no failure experienced yet for NHTSA campaign number: 15v246000 (latches/locks/linkages ) so he was uncertain of when the recall would be performed. The contact also experienced the eps warning light and the power train warning lights randomly illuminating. The manufacturer was notified of the failures.
