This car was already recalled for the passenger side airbag and it took more than 2 years to get it replaced, with the recommendation that noone sit in the passenger seat. My daughter, with a 9 month old infant is driving this car and is now afraid to drive it with the driver side airbag recall. There is no timeline and now she no longer will drive this car. Because the stated risk is if the airbag inflater explodes, sharp metal fragments could strike the driver or other occupants causing serious injury or death. Would you drive your 9 month old in that car?? we need a better solution than we have no idea when we can fix it! thank you! kevin walli.

Kayser Ford in madison, WI was supposed to have replaced driver side air bag. I have concerns about their properly replacing, per the safety recall, as tim douglas boasted that "they have over 47 airbags" in back and this is not how the recall should work. The part needs to be ordered per the VIN and received and put in, not some random spare extra parts in back, put in the vehicle, without knowing how long they have been sitting there. Further, this Ford replaced the passenger airbag, and pulled on the bottom edge of the airbag compartment, causing a badly tented edge, that could obstruct the passenger air bag deployment or tear the bag if it is deployed, and affect the angle and trajectory of the deployment. This Ford denied any responsibility. When we had it towed for other repairs including the driver side airbag, they not only did not perform the necessary repairs, but they caused harm to our car: damage to the front bumper, failed to refill fluids correctly, including transmission fluid and power steering fluid and did not replace the front brake calipers. The new serpentine belt is loose and makes a noise. They also drove our car over 30 miles, without our authorization and then lied on the invoice claiming that our car came in and left at the same mileage. Further, they left our car on a tow truck with the j hook hanging from the suspension and under tension, all night.

Received a recall notice for the drivers side airbag. I do not feel comfortable driving this vehicle and would like a loaner until the repair parts are available. This same vehicle had a passenger airbag recall. And a loaner vehicle was provided. This new recall is more serious given it is on the drivers side.
The drivers side air bag inflater needs to be replaced due to a recall.

Passenger, side airbag is defective and needs to be replaced as validated by Ford dealership on February 4, 2019.
Vehicle was in motion when the driver side airbag deployed without warning causing driver to lose control of vehicle and collided with the front of a bank.
2010 Ford Fusion. Consumer writes in regards to parts being unavailable to repair passenger side airbag safety recall.
Takata recall. Ford dealership called to notify of replacement for passenger side air bag. I asked who is manufacturing the replacement airbag, I was informed it's still takata. Is this safe?.
Tried to brake as usual and brakes were not as responsive and needed more pressure/time to stop. Abs light came on shortly after. Ford believes that the cause is abs module and/or abs hcu (abs pump motor failure). They are unable to determine actual cause until I py $3,000 to replace each potential issue. While brakes seem to operate ok now, the car needs more time to stop. Have seen multiple complaints online w the same issue (spongy brakes, abs module failures). I have also been unable to obtain the recall replacement for passenger side airbag as they are short on parts.
Recall notice issued June 1, 2016 and parts are still not available to replace the passenger side airbag. This is not acceptable. Is NHTSA putting any pressure on the automakers to remedy this situation? surely if they can develop a new car and have it on the market in two years, they can have one component developed and available in two years. This delay in getting airbag components to the public is totally unacceptable.

"takata recall" I received a recall notice February 2018 stating there had been a recall on the passenger side airbag, and I would be notifies when parts became available to fix the issue. I have since then received a letter stating parts are unavailable, and Ford is offering rental cars until parts do become available. I have been trying to get this solved for a week now, and my local Ford dealer just keeps saying they will get back to me. This is my only form of transportation, and I have two kids that travel in this car with me. I feel like everyday driving in this unsafe vehicle, is a threat to me and/or my children, and nothing is getting resolved, due to an overwhelming list, but I shouldn't have to worry everytime I drive.
Takata recall. I have had no communication from the Ford motor company regarding when parts will be available for replacing the passenger side airbag. My car has been sitting in my garage for a month and a half now. My local dealership has no clue as to when parts will be available. This is a totally unacceptable situation as I cannot drive, sell or trade my car in this situation. I would like to know what is being done to make these parts available and when. I would appreciate help and a response in this matter.
I have a 2008 Ford Fusion and the plate on the dash where the passenger side airbag is lifting and you can clearly see where my airbag is about to deploy. It has as well messed my dash up there is such a gap. I have called Ford motor company and all they tell me is that they do not have the part and do not know when they will get it as well telling me not to drive my car. Well I have to have transportation so what do they expect me to drive????? I am really hoping it does not deploy considering this has been over a year that it is on recall and just so you know my VIN use to show the recall and now it does not!!! why is that????.
I have received a letter from Ford motor indicating that there is a defective airbag in my vehicle and that the passenger side airbag defect is most critical and urgent. The letter indicates that no one should sit in the passenger side front side of my 2010 Ford Fusion se. The letter indicates that airbag replacement parts are currently not available and the letter did not indicate a date as to when parts would become available. I have called Ford in souderton PA to discuss but have not been given a call back.
Tl takata recall. The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact was not notified of NHTSA campaign numbers: 18v167000 (steering) and 18v471000 (power train) until after the vehicle was involved in a crash. The contact stated that there was a sudden loss of direction with the steering wheel while driving approximately 45 mph. As a result, the contact lost control and crashed into a tree. The front driver and passenger side air bags deployed; however, the driver sustained injuries to the face, left shoulder, and forehead. Medical attention was required. The vehicle was towed to a yard and then to manheim baltimore-washington Ford (7120 dorsey run rd, elkridge, MD 21075, 1-(800) 533-2923) so it could be diagnosed by the insurance company or the manufacturer. The vehicle was extensively damaged. A police report was filed. The manufacturer was contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 41,000.

The area on the dashboard where the passenger airbag is has started to heave up. I am afraid that it might rupture. I have turned off the passenger side airbag. Is this something that needs to be addressed? the area affected is about 7 inches long.
Takata recall: the takata recall for the passanger side airbag in my 2008 Ford Fusion has been out for about a year now and there still aren't any replacement parts yet. When will the replacement parts come in?.
Takata recall. I have a 2010 Fusion with a recall on the passenger side. I am told there are no parts available to repair it so I do not have full use of my vehicle since I can not use the front passenger seat. It seems the manufacturer should find alternate suppliers or provide a replacement until parts are available. I called my local dealer and was told there is nothing that can be done. Is the driver side airbag safe? can a malfunctioning passenger airbag injure the driver or rear seat passengers?.
Takata recall passenger side air bag contacted dealer 3times in the last 1 1/2 years. Dec 2017 said do not use passenger side until fixed we'll still not fixed.
Takata recall. There has been a recall on the passenger side airbag on my Ford Fusion for over a year. The parts to replace the airbag are still not available. I feel unsafe driving my car, as there's risk of shrapnel impaling me and the other passengers in my car. The local Ford dealership stated they legally cannot disconnect the passenger side airbag in my car. I fear for my safety driving my own car. It should not take this long to have my car fixed.
Takata recall. I got recall notice from Ford that my passenger side air bag is affected by takata recall, and they will contact me when air bag is ready. I got this notice in 2016. Now it is end of 2017, already one year. I have not got any notice about when this can be handled. I called Ford dealership close to me, they told me they have too many cars to fix, and told me Ford will contact me in future. As a result, I could not use this car to transport family due to safety concerns. Therefore I suffer monetary loss because I paid for this vehicle but could not use it as I need.
Takata recall. I have received numerous notices from Ford concerning the potentially deadly effects of my passenger side airbag, yet it has been years and it has still not been replaced, putting my passengers in danger every time they ride in my car.

"takata recall" I received notification of a recall on the frontal passenger side airbag. I contacted the dealership several times and was informed the part was not available. The first week of November 2017, I visited the dealership (long lewis Ford) in birmingham alabama, and was told this is strictly an issue with takata bankruptcy and Ford motor company has nothing to do with it. Everything I have read states to contact my dealership and the airbag is to be replaced for free. I did as instructed and the dealership is not complying putting me and my family at possible risk for serious injury or death.
Takata recall received a post card from tk holdings regarding a takata airbag recall. We checked airbagrecall. Com and found that our Ford Fusion 2007 was included in that recall. We were advised to call the local Ford dealer to have the passenger side airbag replaced immediately. Sexton Ford in moline was very rude and the only information they would give us was that there are no parts available to fix this. How can there not be any parts available for a recall that, if not fixed, may result in death? now we are unable to utilize the passenger seat of our car until the airbag is replaced.
It's affecting my passenger side airbags. Ford dealer keeps telling me they don't have the parts to fix it for the past two years. They also told me that it may affect my trade - in price even though I bought it from them. I have not been able to drive with any passenger in fear of the airbags fatally deploying. This is a serious hazard and I live in a very hot climate which makes the risks even higher. Help me, I have not been able to get any recourse with this dangerous vehicle . Just owning a vehicle with such a risk is dangerous.
Takata recall I received a letter in July 2016 informing me of a recall on my passenger side airbags. The letter makers it appear as though this is a serious, life-threatening issue, but I have called several Ford dealerships over the last year and they all claim that they do not have the parts of takata to fix it. Today I received a letter informing me that takata has filed chapter 11 and that I really need to get it resolved. I called a dealership today and they once again claimed not to have the parts. What is the point of sending me all of these warnings if I cant get it fixed? if the point is that I shouldnt be driving my car until its fixed then they should be giving me a replacement vehicle.
I had just bought my 2007 Ford Fusion barely a month ago based on the fact that the VIN number was clean, no history of accidents and one owner. I have had no idea that my now new to me precious vehicle that I love lots and shelled out 3,000 for was a part of this airbag inflate recall until I got a notification in the mail yesterday and ran my plate through the airbag recall website. I use my now loved vehicle for uber and I take my children to school in the vehicle in question daily. Now it makes me question not only my personal safety but the safety my children and my uber passengers. Lucky for me I have not gotten into an accident with this vehicle yet. I have been in an accident in a vehicle that had absolutely no airbags at all 10 years ago and I am literally fortunate enough to still be alive and well. In the accident I was in just not this vehicle in particular, highway patrol in nevada thought I was going to die. Now this vehicle I just bought I bought October 4th, 2017. Also I caught when my 12 year old son who happens to be the same height and weight as me the passenger side airbag off light stays on when he is in the vehicle. I'm 5'3" 125 pounds. He's the same. That should not be.
Tl-the contact owns a 2008 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the passenger's side air bag was emerging from the dashboard compartment without warning or impact. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v384000 (air bags ) however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact called a local dealer bradford fairway sales located at 472 e main st, bradford, PA 16701 (814) 368-7166 where informed that the remedy was not available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and opened cas-148456784. But no further assistance was provided. The contact had experienced a failure. The failure mileage was 55,000. (VIN tool confirms parts not available). Ap.
Takta recall not being addressed. My passenger side airbag seam split with a audible pop when traveling from arizona to wyoming in extreme temperatures.
Takata recall- has been in effect since June 2016 and nothing has been done to correct the problem. When we check the status of the recall on line it always states that there is no corrective action to be taken at this time. The passenger side airbag was literally popping out of the dash and we had to take it to the dealer to have it repaired at our own expense since there was no recall correction.
The contact owns a 2009 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the passenger side air bag was detached from the console. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 17v024000 (air bags). The parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact called a local dealer (dellen Ford, 2001 e mcgallard rd, muncie, in 47303) and was informed that the parts were not available. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 129,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
"takata recall" I received a letter from Ford in March of 2017 advising of a recall because of defect in passenger side airbag. I was told that I would be contacted when the parts to fix the issue was available. I have periodically been checking with my dealership, rountree in shreveport, with the orr Ford dealership in stonewall and other Ford dealerships in the area for the last 6 months, only to be told the part has not come in yet. In March I was told it was expected in April. Today I was told it was expected in a few weeks. I am starting to think the problem will never be resolved.
Passenger side airbag makes a squeaking noise while driving. Separation between the airbag and the dash is also noticeable. Passenger side airbag for the vehicle has been under recall since 6/1/2016 but Ford dealership is stating no parts are available and they have no eta on when they will be available. In the meantime, we are uncomfortable driving the car with the airbag acting as it is.
